Summary

Last night, Eira killed a man。

However justified her actions were, many now regard her as a cold-blooded murderer and a heretic who extinguished their hope。 But there’s no time to explain herself。 She barely has a chance to wash the blood off her hands before the Tournament of Five Kingdoms begins。

Sequestered with the other champions for the duration of the tournament, Eira must now navigate the games, her competition, the enemies who hunt her head, and — somehow worse than all the rest — being stuck in close quarters with the man who broke her heart。

All is fair in love and magical tournaments, and Eira is ready for the fight of her life。

Get ready for twists you never saw coming in A Tournament of Crowns。 This series is perfect for readers who enjoy young adult, epic fantasy full of elemental magic, slow-burn romance, found family, and battles for the futures of kingdoms set in a world you’ll never want to leave。

Don’t miss a single book in the A Trial of Sorcerers series。 Readers should start with A Trial of Sorcerers, and then A Hunt of Shadows, before reading A Tournament of Crowns。

DisappointedI am a big fan of Elise but this book, this series has been a let down。 Book 1 was amazing and I couldn't put it down。 But now going on to book 4 I find the series really dragging and lacking the excitement book one gave。 The main FMC , was disappointing in the battles。 For someone so gifted her power seemed weak in this book。 Not really sure what there is to look for in the next book but to wait a year in between books seems to increase my disappointment。 DisappointedI am a big fan of Elise but this book, this series has been a let down。 Book 1 was amazing and I couldn't put it down。 But now going on to book 4 I find the series really dragging and lacking the excitement book one gave。 The main FMC , was disappointing in the battles。 For someone so gifted her power seemed weak in this book。 Not really sure what there is to look for in the next book but to wait a year in between books seems to increase my disappointment。 。。。more

this was a really good instalment to the series。although it took some time (and a couple of recaps) for me to remember the plot and the characters, I really enjoyed this sequel。 you have a lot intrigues, conflicts, politics, friendship and a bit of romance too, although I still feel like the air awakens series captured much more than this one。

Wow, an ending worth the hype。 I have to give the author credit as she didn’t go for the ending that was predictable, instead she threw a curve and all of a sudden that next book seems very far away。 So many unanswered questions, can Eira get her magic back, will she be reunited with her parents and will it be Cullen or Oliven? That’s just a few of the dangling plot points to be explored further。 All in all, I really enjoyed this book the most as Eira came into her own, finally realizing some ha Wow, an ending worth the hype。 I have to give the author credit as she didn’t go for the ending that was predictable, instead she threw a curve and all of a sudden that next book seems very far away。 So many unanswered questions, can Eira get her magic back, will she be reunited with her parents and will it be Cullen or Oliven? If you like adventure and a great character arc, you need to read this series。 While not completely necessary, I do recommend reading Air Awakens before diving into this story- thank me later。 There is also the Vortex chronicles that could be read before too (I personally did not but I’m so excited to dive in now)。 Among Air Awakens, Vortex Chronicles and Trial of Sorcerers, I read Trial of Sorcerers first。 I’m usually able to predict what will happen in books easily but I never can when reading If you like adventure and a great character arc, you need to read this series。 While not completely necessary, I do recommend reading Air Awakens before diving into this story- thank me later。 There is also the Vortex chronicles that could be read before too (I personally did not but I’m so excited to dive in now)。 Among Air Awakens, Vortex Chronicles and Trial of Sorcerers, I read Trial of Sorcerers first。 I’m usually able to predict what will happen in books easily but I never can when reading Elise。 At least not in these three series。 Tournament of Crowns has you cheering on an unlikely underdog。 I excitedly await the next book to see where our protagonist goes。 I can’t believe you left me hanging like this Elise!!!!!!!! Nonetheless, the writing is fabulous and I love the characters。 。。。more

3。25 🌟 I love the first 2 books in this series, book 1 focused on the competition and book 2 focuses on world building & character development。 So I was excited to see what book 3s main focus would be。。 to be honest, I was a little disappointed it was just the same as 1&2。 It felt like a reiteration of them and it fell flat for me personally。 I had high hopes for something new。 Even though I was disappointed in this one, I'll still be continuing this series as it releases。 EK gas always been a c 3。25 🌟 I love the first 2 books in this series, book 1 focused on the competition and book 2 focuses on world building & character development。 So I was excited to see what book 3s main focus would be。。 to be honest, I was a little disappointed it was just the same as 1&2。 It felt like a reiteration of them and it fell flat for me personally。 I had high hopes for something new。 Even though I was disappointed in this one, I'll still be continuing this series as it releases。 EK gas always been a consistently good writer so I have faith book 4 will be great 。。。more

Fantasy, Magic, mystery & intrigueAbsolutely love this series & this book was no exception。 A spine tingling cliffhanger with a twist at the end。 So much romantic tension coupled with twisty plots。。。 it's hard to keep up with who the good & less good guys are。 It's a "can't put down til 3am" kind of book。 Well done Elise! 3。5Good suspense, still love the characters, old and new。 Some predictability, rushed final act。 Also not sure how I feel about the last twist and cliffhanger, might feel differently depending on book 4

Holy freaking crap… Elise Kova has done it again!!! “A Tournament of Crowns” kicks off exactly where the previous book left off, and oh my gosh, I have so many emotions about what happened next。 Eira, our fierce heroine, goes through so much in this book, and I’m amazed by how strong she is。 There are interactions with both new friends and old, although my favorites were Cullen, Olivin, and Ducot。 This book was also super angsty, and there were times I wanted to throw my kindle at the wall。 And Holy freaking crap… Elise Kova has done it again!!! “A Tournament of Crowns” kicks off exactly where the previous book left off, and oh my gosh, I have so many emotions about what happened next。 Eira, our fierce heroine, goes through so much in this book, and I’m amazed by how strong she is。 There are interactions with both new friends and old, although my favorites were Cullen, Olivin, and Ducot。 This book was also super angsty, and there were times I wanted to throw my kindle at the wall。 And that ending… my heart was racing by the time I finished! This series keeps getting better and better! A Tournament of Crowns features the long awaited tournament- and it's so fun to see what the other nations' magic can do! While we already knew the elemental magic of Solaris and the glyph-based one of Meru (which I love!), the new ones surprized me! But here's the catch: in between secret plots and societies, old and new romances and found family shenanigans, the tournament was just the icing on the cake 🤎 This series keeps getting better and better! More in the air awakens universeI'm thrilled that there are more adventures in this world and that more are on the way。 Eira is a complex heroine and her story is fascinating。 We are finally at the tournament and get more action from the rest of the competitors。 I had a blast and can't wait for the next book。 Fans of the series must read this book。 Characters from the previous series show up and I was ecstatic to see them again。 A must read! Just like the Air Awakens series, I was immediately hooked and then swiftly finished each book as if I was granted a finite time to complete each one, so for that, I'm thankful。I'll honestly say that the first book was the best, second carried the momentum, but the 3rd was honestly just。。。alright。That ending, though! I'm excited because we finally get to see the long-awaited character in the next book。 I was beginning to get worried。I do love Eira's evolution throughout the book in almost all aspects, except for one, that being her love life。 I have to be honest。 It's just not her forte, and that is okay。 Even Eira admits this to her friends in this book。 1st love- Cruel Joke2nd- Almost kills her3rd - Reckless, given the truth that comes out4th- ????If there must be a love interest, so be it, but it feels so forced, and it's still lingering in the end。 There's more important events going on in the book, and I can admit that I wanted to see more of the power struggle between the nations, Pillars and Court of Shadows, etc。Overall, the ending saved it for me: 4/5 and I'm excited for the next one! 。。。more

so。。。Elise is and always will be one of my fav authors。 Her writing amazes me and she seems so nice! Such a great read。 Out of all the series she’s written this one is by far my favorite。 I don’t know how I’m going to wait for the 4th novel。 I love the intricacies of the relationships she’s building and I’m hoping to see it all resolved in book 4 but I can’t say I’d complain if she wrote a book 5。
