A little underwhelming; but a very cute way to include God and scripture into your daily life。 Thank you to the authors for sharing their personal experiences✊🏼

They LA girl-bossed the Bible。 Idk who Tanya is but this was 100 days of her giving loosely contextualized advice that may or may not be sound (e。g。 carrying around cards with you phone number and giving them out to every attractive person you see as a means to getting a husband)。 At the end of the day, Tanya needed to pick between writing a memoir because she is “known for being positive” and wanted to tell stories about herself, and making a devotional。 This ended up being a weird hybrid where They LA girl-bossed the Bible。 Idk who Tanya is but this was 100 days of her giving loosely contextualized advice that may or may not be sound (e。g。 carrying around cards with you phone number and giving them out to every attractive person you see as a means to getting a husband)。 At the end of the day, Tanya needed to pick between writing a memoir because she is “known for being positive” and wanted to tell stories about herself, and making a devotional。 This ended up being a weird hybrid where her self-inserts about all the famous people she knows felt out of place and misguided。 。。。more

The Sunshine Mind was a great addition to my morning routine! After finishing my Bible reading for the day, I would crack open this book for a quick word of encouragement。 Each page was filled with hope, bold faith and love。 Though Raquelle and Tanya don’t personally know each individual reader, you could feel their yearning for each one to be able to connect with God to harness their deepest potential in life。 I recommend this book, especially for people going through tough times, in order to g The Sunshine Mind was a great addition to my morning routine! I’ve read several days of The Sunshine Mind and find it enjoyable。 It’s a different kind of devotional where they are giving modern examples from their lives。 I like to read these day by day so I haven’t ready the whole book yet but I do feel like I will enjoy the rest of just as much。 I look forward to finishing the book! When I was reading the First Look online I didn’t have a problem with it。 So I would suggest if you have vision problems maybe get the an ebook :)(Won this book in a raffle on Bookish First for review thank you so much!) 。。。more

Thank you to Bookishfirst, Zondervan, Tanya Rad, and Raquelle Stevens for sending me this book in exchange for an honest review。 When writing a devotional, or book geared towards helping a Christian grow in their faith, the focus should always be God。 While reading through this devotional, the focus was always on self and how God can help you be "better。" Never about what we as Christians need to do so we can better serve God。 I have nothing against uplifting devotionals and encouraging your fel Thank you to Bookishfirst, Zondervan, Tanya Rad, and Raquelle Stevens for sending me this book in exchange for an honest review。 When writing a devotional, or book geared towards helping a Christian grow in their faith, the focus should always be God。 While reading through this devotional, the focus was always on self and how God can help you be "better。" Never about what we as Christians need to do so we can better serve God。 I have nothing against uplifting devotionals and encouraging your fellow believer, in fact I'm known for being someone who is always cheerful and uplifting。 However, when all of the focus is on that and never how you can grow spiritually, there is never a deepening of faith and service。 I have been a Christ follower for almost 19 years and was practically born in church almost 12 years before that。 I have read many devotionals and done many Bible studies。 The ones that have made the most impact on my life are the ones that called me to action。 I fear this devotional leans more towards what's known as prosperity gospel (if you follow God's rules, you'll be wealthy and have all you need) which is not Biblical。 In fact, being a true Christ follower will bring persecution and difficulty。 1 Peter 4:14 in the ESV Bible says, "If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you。"Being a Christ follower isn't about getting a bunch of material things or becoming famous。 It's about daily surrendering yourself in service to God and being filled with an unending, indescribable joy because of it。 。。。more

Although the cover wouldn't tell you this is a devotional book, don't judge a book by it's cover。 Tanya Rad and Raquelle Stevens bring the modern, Christian woman something we have all been lacking- a daily devotion that provides real-life, relatable stories and ties them to a believe in God。 The daily reads don't take long but set a positive tone for the day。 I appreciate the tips provided in "The Sunshine Mind Way To。。。" section。 The stories are real, which means they aren't always pretty。 Th Although the cover wouldn't tell you this is a devotional book, don't judge a book by it's cover。 Tanya Rad and Raquelle Stevens bring the modern, Christian woman something we have all been lacking- a daily devotion that provides real-life, relatable stories and ties them to a believe in God。 The daily reads don't take long but set a positive tone for the day。 I appreciate the tips provided in "The Sunshine Mind Way To。。。" section。 The stories are real, which means they aren't always pretty。 They demonstrate real-life。 Life can be messy。 Rad and Stevens remind us that we are not a mess。 We are God's children。 The examples are struggles and triumphs sure to be relatable to most women。Rad and Stevens did an excellent job with the writing。 My only complaint about this book is the quality。 While the cover is lovely and eye catching, including the fact that this is a Christian book would be helpful to the reader。 As an adult women, I find joy in the details。 The paper used for this book is thin and feels rough。 For a book of this type, I would expect a nicer quality, glossy finish paper。 I often reread books of this type or gift them to friends who might benefit。 This book doesn't feel like it would last the test of time, nor is it giftable from a physical quality standpoint。I would gladly read another piece of work by Rad and Stevens。 I enjoyed the 23 days I've read to far and I'm looking forward to the remaining 77 days。The publisher should consider giving these authors the physical quality product their words deserve。 。。。more

I listened to the audiobook while waiting for my physical copy to arrive。 This book is such a beautiful representation of Tanya and Raquelle。 There is so much joy and openness and vulnerability in this book。 It’s so uplifting and really encourages the reader to move forward in their life, while acknowledging that we all have struggles。 I cannot wait to start my journey to a sunshine mind, and put into practice the tips that Tanya and Raquelle have shared。

Christian women, please do not read this atrocity。 This is a woman so blindly mislead by her own thoughts + attempts to disguise it as “the will of God。” Regarding her relationship, the author says “one day。。my hope was restored in the form of a man…。”Your hope is to be restored in the form of Jesus Christ。 He did not send a Jewish man with children to “restore your hope”。

If you are a religious Christian, this book is meant for you! The Sunshine Mind is a book that had a lot of great faith and positivity surrounding it。 I loved all of the Bible quotes throughout the book and thought both of the authors, Tanya and Raquelle, were very relatable。 I think they did a great job of representing what it means to be a Christian and gave little suggestions at the end of each chapter based on what that topic was about。 Every chapter, or "day," had a different theme。 I lik If you are a religious Christian, this book is meant for you! I needed this whole book。 If you are finding your way with god, needing some guidance, or maybe you’ve been a believer for a really long time, I recommend this book。 I already know I’m buying a copy for my mother in law。 This book is really easy to read each chapter is 2 pages。 A little story from either Tanya or Raquelle and then a section about god and how to connect what the Focus of this chapter is with god and your life。 It’s so well written。 The authors did a fantastic job。 I really connected with the authors。 While they work in California they go through some things in their life that you can really connect with your own life。 Rather it be relationship hiccups, life hiccups, career hiccups, it’s all relatable。 We all go through things in life so it’s nice to feel like you’re not alone and that gods not picking on you。 God has a plan! Because I am older, I don't think this book meant as much to me。 However, I believe it would be a great book to gift a young woman。 I also think it would be better to read one devotional each day so you have time to think and ponder on what is being said。 Because I am older, I don't think this book meant as much to me。 However, I believe it would be a great book to gift a young woman。 I also think it would be better to read one devotional each day so you have time to think and ponder on what is being said。 。。。more
