Summary

Syv is a snowcat and the youngest in a family of princes。 When his father dies, Syv and his brothers are all in line for the throne。 Eager to become kings themselves and wary of how well-liked Syv has become by the citizens, Syv’s brothers send him on a dangerous quest to find the long-lost magical crown that once belonged to their royal ancestor, the Eldking。 Legend says that the snowcat who finds the crown will break the curse on their land and bring great honor to the family。 But failure could mark Syv with three black stripes, and he’d be banished forever。

Along his journey, Syv will face dangerous beasts, dark powers, and the ever-lurking sand foxes—sworn enemies to the snowcats。 But when Syv discovers the truth about the legend of the Eldking and his magical crown, he’ll have to learn the new meaning of honor and find another way to break the curse。

From Norwegian author Dina Norlund comes , a beautifully illustrated tale of bravery and honor。

Denna är SÅ FINT tecknad。 Bildspråket är en 5, inga tvivel men storyn går bara för fort för mig。 Hinner knappt komma in i den så är den över och berättelsen engagerade mig inte。 Men helt underbart tecknad。

The world is full of life and detail, movement and magic。 And the COLORWORK! I requested this book purely because of the artwork。 It was giving 2010 Warriors Cats fanart vibes and I just had to see what the story was like。 My only complaint is that this wasn't multiple books。 Each chapter EASILY could have been a whole book by itself with a nice 5-6 book series。It's a simple story for kids, but with a great message。 A little prince, looked down upon by his brothers is sent into the wide, scary world to complete an impossible quest because they want him gone。 The artwork I requested this book purely because of the artwork。 It was giving 2010 Warriors Cats fanart vibes and I just had to see what the story was like。 My only complaint is that this wasn't multiple books。 Each chapter EASILY could have been a whole book by itself with a nice 5-6 book series。It's a simple story for kids, but with a great message。 A little prince, looked down upon by his brothers is sent into the wide, scary world to complete an impossible quest because they want him gone。 The artwork is incredible, the colors super rich, and the story is all-around great。 Totally recommend for fans of animal-based stories, and I hope more gets added to this universe。 。。。more

I partly blame my mother for reading the likes of Meg and Mog, Smoke and Fluff and other ladybird classics like five little kittens。 What I can say though is that even without the Snowcat I am pretty sure this would have caught my attention with the beautiful and stunning illustration and story。 Add the cutest protagonist ever, Syv the titular Snowcat Prince, and I would give this a hundred stars out of five if I could! The Snowcat Prince isn’t just a story of bravery, honour and the idea of kindness it is a mythical and original tale that could be up there with fairytales of old。 To break a curse on the kingdom, the youngest Snowcat Prince, Syv, sets out on a dangerous quest to find the long-lost magical crown of his ancestor and learn the true meaning of honour and bravery。Syv is the youngest in a family of Snowcat Princes。 Unlike some monarchies when their father dies all the princes are in line to the throne。 Eager to become king themselves and wary of how well liked Syv is by the people of the kingdom the brothers devise a plan to get rid of their brother by sending him on a dangerous quest to find the long lost magical crown that belonged to their ancestor, the Eldking。 The crown will break the curse on the kingdom but should Syv earn three black marks from being dishonest he may be banished forever。Along his journey Syv faces dangerous beasts, suspicious and unkind townsfolk, dark powers and the ever-lurking sand foxes – sworn enemies of the snowcats。 He is joined on his quest by the easy going human Kit who may not be all they appear to be and the pair begin to form a bond as they face increasing dangers。 But when Syv finally discovers the truth about the legend of the Eldking and his magical crown, he’ll learn the new meaning of honour and find a new way to break the curse while keeping those he cares for safe。I want to say I found something wrong with this but I didn’t! Everything about this graphic novel is perfect from the illustrations to the character creation and plot。 It is all contained perfectly within the novel and while I would love to learn more and read more about Syv and Kit I am happy with how their stories intertwined and ended。Like I already said the story itself is worthy to be added to the collection of beloved fairy-tales and fables with it’s message of bravery, honour and kindness winning all。 I honestly adored this so much I have already pre-ordered a physical copy to add to my graphic novel collections and I cannot wait to see how beautiful this looks in person。 If you want a heart-warming tale of friendship, bravery and with a generous helping of adventure and magic this is definitely for you。 。。。more

This was a short and sweet fable in graphic novel format。 A mythical coming of age story featuring a classic good vs。 evil confrontation。 The art was absolutely stunning, with adorable characters and vivid landscapes。 The story did feel a bit short and almost too rushed, I would have liked a bit more “meat on the bones”。 But it was still a very enjoyable read。
