If you ever want specific tactics on communication, how to pivot unhelpful thoughts, and to change your career for the better, this book will do it。 For anyone who labels themselves sensitive and an overachiever, this book is for you。 The activities and examples in particular were super helpful。

I felt so seen reading this book! Filled with great advice that is actually doable。 I'm starting right away with harnessing the power of "Yet。" This is a book that I will be referencing often in the coming year! Anyone? Bueller? I want to live a healthy, balanced life。 Why is that too much to ask? This book is better in hard copy than audio as it has lots of questions to work through。

This book is an actionable guide to making your sensitivity and emotionality a strength。 You'll learn how to reframe challenging thoughts, stop harmful rumination, and set goals that are helpful but not overwhelming。 While focused on work life, these skills are super helpful for your personal life, too。 This book is an actionable guide to making your sensitivity and emotionality a strength。 You'll learn how to reframe challenging thoughts, stop harmful rumination, and set goals that are helpful but not overwhelming。 While focused on work life, these skills are super helpful for your personal life, too。 。。。more

Book resonated with me in a sense that I turn out to be what the author calls sensitive striver。 For long time I thought that my high emotionality is actually a penalty in workplace, but this books explains how it can be leveraged as an advantage。It has many exercies and practical examples。

I have used a lot of self help books, quit lit and therapy and I have never found a framework with (cognitive, physical and spiritual exercises/tool) that has resonated with my personality and who I am as person as much as this。 The information is extensive and all backed up with scientific research and anecdotal evidence so that this book provided me with a way forward when I was feeling the most lost。 I cannot recommend it enough!!!!

Sought out the book after reading an article in HBR。 Excellent resource for those wanting to learn more about sensitive strivers and to leverage those characteristics for growth and success。

It’s incredibly helpful as a workbook, and practical exercise。 However, the development of concepts is not that polished as it makes affirmations but doesn’t explain the concept behind it。 The histories I think doesn’t add up much to the book, but is fine to have some real life references。

I felt so seen in this book! Helped me recognize how many of my patterns are self-sabotaging and how to start toreframe them as strengths。 Taking a workshop with the author in a few months to go deeper。

This book had a transformational effect on me。 I felt an enormous sense of clarity as I was reading it。 I had been stuck in my business journey, trying to figure out the right path forward。 Then, in the middle of reading Melody's book, I knew exactly what I had to do。 I have a clear business plan now and a strategy for moving forward。 It was unreal how easily it all came to me just because I read this book。 This book had a transformational effect on me。 I felt an enormous sense of clarity as I was reading it。 I had been stuck in my business journey, trying to figure out the right path forward。 Then, in the middle of reading Melody's book, I knew exactly what I had to do。 I have a clear business plan now and a strategy for moving forward。 It was unreal how easily it all came to me just because I read this book。 。。。more

As an introvert who is highly sensitive I feel this book is a lifeline。 I recently was promoted to being a director and wanted the position but wasn’t sure how to navigate the role in a way that made sense to me。 I read books and none of them worked for me-I thought I wasn’t cut out for a high level director role。 After the book I feel like I can now thrive。 Thank you!

I did the audiobook of this, which was probably not the wisest choice for me because I tend to daydream and lose track of what's being read to me。 BUT I did not want to pay $30 for a hardcover of the book (without knowing if I'd like it or not) and it was too new for my library to have a copy。 This was picked for a book club (that I didn't attend b/c I hadn't finished the book yet) and while I liked some of the advice given, I'm not sure that I'm a "sensitive striver"。 I do look forward to compl I did the audiobook of this, which was probably not the wisest choice for me because I tend to daydream and lose track of what's being read to me。 BUT I did not want to pay $30 for a hardcover of the book (without knowing if I'd like it or not) and it was too new for my library to have a copy。 This was picked for a book club (that I didn't attend b/c I hadn't finished the book yet) and while I liked some of the advice given, I'm not sure that I'm a "sensitive striver"。 I do look forward to completing the worksheet that accompanied the audiobook (and that I'm sure is available for those reading the physical copy) and seeing how Wilding's advice and experience can help me go further in my career。 。。。more

Proud to be。。。 A Sensitive Striver! I had a chance to read through this book before it came out, and I was so ecstatic to see that there was a characterization for the ways I sometimes felt at work。 This is a revolutionary way to see soft skills in the workplace, and I am thrilled we now have a reason to embrace our emotions more often!

I have never felt more seen by a book。 This book was empowering and left me feeling even more confident about who I am and see how my strengths have supported my career success。 Above all, it’s a relief discovering a new term to describe my personality traits/how I feel and use that to navigate whatever life brings my way。 Highly recommend for fellow high achievers out there。
