Super slow-burn for sure。 It was pretty good， but not my favorite book by her。 I also think I had really high expectations/hopes because of how badass Wretched was and this book definitely paled in comparison to the storyline of that one。 Overall， it was a decent book， I’m just bummed it wasn’t as good as I had hoped。

I always look forward to Emily’s titles。 I’m a real enemies to lovers enthusiast。 Like cutthroat， gun barrel to head enemies。 This had me pacing back and forth fanning my face lmao。 I had to take breaks in between reading。 Wheewww。 Dear Lord I had to use my inhaler。 （Real） I wish I had my own Julian， snake and all。 I’m not well。 Emily always nails the way she writes her main male lead。 A short read for me， but enjoyable nonetheless。 Probably one of my favorites， after “Scarred”。
