Summary

From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of It Ends with Us and It Starts with Us

Moving, passionate, and unforgettable, Colleen Hoover's novel follows two young adults from completely different backgrounds embarking on a tentative romance, unaware of what the future holds。

After a childhood filled with poverty and neglect, Beyah Grim finally has her hard-earned ticket out of Kentucky with a full ride to Penn State。 But two months before she’s finally free to change her life for the better, an unexpected death leaves her homeless and forced to spend the remainder of her summer in Texas with a father she barely knows。

Devastated and anxious for the summer to go by quickly, Beyah has no time or patience for Samson, the wealthy, brooding guy next door。 Yet, the connection between them is too intense to ignore。 But with their upcoming futures sending them to opposite ends of the country, the two decide to maintain only a casual summer fling。 Too bad neither has any idea that a rip current is about to drag both their hearts out to sea。

This book was amazing。 I could hardly put it down and read it all on 4 hours! Loved the story line and the characters。 I felt so bad for beyah but loved how the story progressed into something so happy。

Gah! Every。 Single。 Time。 I feel every emotion in the damn book and makes me want to come back for more。 Less than 24 hours and I had the entire book read ( sleep time doesn't count)。 I can't even begin to express the love I have for this book and for CoHo herself。 I am just so fortunate to be able to fll in love with her writing and always keep buying more。 Thank you, CoHo for writing books that give me all the feels and for sharing them with all of us。 Gah! This was definitely more the style of Colleen Hoover I enjoy。 It was an easy read and nothing was bad at it。 I enjoyed the characters and the plot。 It could’ve easily been a 4 star book but I just didn’t think the writing style was anything to rave about。 Nonetheless I really enjoyed it and would recommend it。

Colleen Hoover does it again。I loved this story so much, and as always the characters were so likeable and realistic。 It wouldn't be CoHo without a bit of heartbreak and this book is full of it。 Beyah finds herself alone at 18 when her addict mother dies and she moves to live with her absent father who she feels has very much abandoned her for most of her life。 What she also gets is a stepsister and mysterious but gorgeous neighbour Sampson。 He has secrets just like Beyah, and they soon realise Colleen Hoover does it again。I loved this story so much, and as always the characters were so likeable and realistic。 It wouldn't be CoHo without a bit of heartbreak and this book is full of it。 Beyah finds herself alone at 18 when her addict mother dies and she moves to live with her absent father who she feels has very much abandoned her for most of her life。 What she also gets is a stepsister and mysterious but gorgeous neighbour Sampson。 He has secrets just like Beyah, and they soon realise they're not so different after all。Loved it! 。。。more

This is an amazing book that is heart warming and heart wrenching。 A high school senior lives with her drug addicted mother in a trailer court。 After finding her mother dead from an overdose she moves from Kentucky to Texas to live with her estranged father。 She moves into a life style that is much more prosperous than she has ever experienced。 Next door is a huge home where a wealthy young man lives alone。 Both the boy and the girl have secrets from their pasts that they are reluctant to share。 This is an amazing book that is heart warming and heart wrenching。 A high school senior lives with her drug addicted mother in a trailer court。 After finding her mother dead from an overdose she moves from Kentucky to Texas to live with her estranged father。 She moves into a life style that is much more prosperous than she has ever experienced。 Next door is a huge home where a wealthy young man lives alone。 Both the boy and the girl have secrets from their pasts that they are reluctant to share。 The story follows their relationship。 The plot is compelling and at times gut wrenching。 Highly recommend。 。。。more

Finished this book in a day and a half and found it a really immersive page turner with characters you can't help falling for! I adored the parallels between protagonist Beyah and her love interest Samson, with their fractured and emotionally complex pasts。The attention to detail Hoover pays is also very admirable, particularly by establishing a blossoming friendship between Beyah and her new step sister Sara, and honouring this throughout the story while most authors may've allowed that to take a backseat to the love affair between Beyah and Samson。 Her decision to make them friends instead of the predictable (and frankly, overdone) enemies by playing into the time-old step-sibling nemesis story arch stood out to me and was one I really appreciate。All of this contributes to her undeniable strength as a writer -- just as her impressive ploy to provide just the right amount of insight into Beyah's shaky relationship with her absentee yet well-meaning father -- overall a very beautiful decision, adding far more depth to the narrative than just another romance with a dark twist。 The meaning behind the title which is buried deeper in the novel, is also really cute。 I started this book without thinking it could match her others like Verity, Ugly Love and even Reminders of Him -- all ones I just lost myself to without a second thought -- and was pleasantly surprised。Exploring themes of family, abandonment and emotional withholding, coming of age, independence, fear of emotional intimacy, trust, grief, redemption and forgiveness, Heart Bones throws more than a few twists you won't see coming。 。。。more

Honestly I really loved this book! It was extremely easy to read and engaging! I definitely had an idea of where this was going the whole time but some twists still got me a bit! I loved Sara, what a fantastic step sis。 Enjoyed some of the steamy bits too!

I’m on a CoHo marathon right now and though I’m often a bit critical of her even while I enjoy how she wraps you up in a story, I gotta give it to her: this was such a sweet one。 I like seeing these characters with nothing but obstacles in their way find love。 A great escape read — wish I had read it while in a beach like the characters。

This was an amazing story! I loved seeing the transition of Beyah’s personality from someone who is so sad, scared, depressed, closed off, angry, to someone who is happy and living life。 I love the fact that she found someone who is exactly like her, with a sad past and upbringing。 Beautiful love story and it kind of brings back those feelings of being in love while in high school and your parents dont approve。 I would love for there to be a sequel。

The story was good but I felt I was reading a young adult book and not necessarily for my age。 But I enjoyed the story
