Summary

After a series of brutal murders rocks Gotham City, Batman begins to realize that perhaps these crimes go far deeper than appearances suggest。 As the Caped Crusader begins to unravel this deadly mystery, he discovers a conspiracy going back to his youth and beyond to the origins of the city he’s sworn to protect。

Batman has heard tales of Gotham City’s Court of Owls: that the members of this powerful cabal are the true rulers of Gotham。 The Dark Knight dismissed the stories as rumors and old wives’ tales。 Gotham was his city。 Until now。

A brutal assassin is sinking his razor-sharp talons into the city’s best and brightest, as well as its most dangerous and deadly。 If the dark legends are true, his masters are more powerful predators than the Batman could ever imagine。

One of the best Batman stories I've ever read, by one of the best comic book writers out there。 Well worth your time, fantastic feel and storytelling。 Along with Greg Capullo's amazing art, it really doesn't get much better in the Batman Universe。 One of the best Batman stories I've ever read, by one of the best comic book writers out there。 Well worth your time, fantastic feel and storytelling。 Along with Greg Capullo's amazing art, it really doesn't get much better in the Batman Universe。 。。。more

It is hard to add something meaningful to a world and character with as long of a history as gotham/batman。 Court of owls manages to do it。 A story that seems so true to the characters and city, while being told, plotted, paneled creatively is rare。 Definitely a must-read。

On the edge of my seat and I love batman。 The court of owl's and the mystery around it as he tries to piece it together。 The art adds to the whole experience and tone of it。 Wish Nightwing wasn't in his red costume but hey, that doesn't matter lol。 Great story and can't wait to see what happens next。 On the edge of my seat and I love batman。 The court of owl's and the mystery around it as he tries to piece it together。 The art adds to the whole experience and tone of it。 Wish Nightwing wasn't in his red costume but hey, that doesn't matter lol。 Great story and can't wait to see what happens next。 。。。more

Sehr angenehmer Comic-Einstieg。 Grafilstil nicht zu 100% meins, aber das ist natürlich Geschmackssache。 Tolle Story, aber für passenden Abschluss muss der Nachfolger gelesen werden。

Collecting together Batman 1 - 7 of the Court of Owls saga。A childhood poem of a secret organization controlling Gotham City maybe more than just a childhood legend。 The deeper Batman looks into this the more he begins to believe in the legend。Fast paced and well written this is a great way to become aware of the Owls series and Batman's roots and disbelief in the legend。The action is explosive and well laid out and does not interfere in the story telling。 While the artwork is a touch more moder Collecting together Batman 1 - 7 of the Court of Owls saga。A childhood poem of a secret organization controlling Gotham City maybe more than just a childhood legend。 The deeper Batman looks into this the more he begins to believe in the legend。Fast paced and well written this is a great way to become aware of the Owls series and Batman's roots and disbelief in the legend。The action is explosive and well laid out and does not interfere in the story telling。 While the artwork is a touch more modern than I prefer it works well and adds to the story。 。。。more

I mean。。。COME ON。 This is how you kick the door down on a Batman relaunch for the masses。 There are just enough mystery trappings to present the illusion of a detective story。 Continuity is nowhere in sight。 And man, does Capullo draw the **** out of the cape and cowl。

Unravels a big mystery around Gotham。 This new revelation breaks batman mentally, and kicks off the tone for the rest of the new 52 run。

i could only read court of owls stories for the rest of my life and not get bored! also the style choices used were so well thought out and i’m so thankful i got the full experience with a physical copy and didn’t read this online。

I loved comic books as a kid。 I collected them (I still have the collection) and read them voraciously。 But in my teens I moved on to read other things, and hadn’t read one in decades。 I recently watched Sin City and loved it, so I felt an itch to read a graphic novel。 The man working at Barnes and Noble suggested this two-part Batman series。 I agree with this comment written by another reviewer: “The best part of the book is still Batman wondering (sic) through the labyrinth。 The art getting tr I loved comic books as a kid。 I collected them (I still have the collection) and read them voraciously。 But in my teens I moved on to read other things, and hadn’t read one in decades。 I recently watched Sin City and loved it, so I felt an itch to read a graphic novel。 The man working at Barnes and Noble suggested this two-part Batman series。 I agree with this comment written by another reviewer: “The best part of the book is still Batman wondering (sic) through the labyrinth。 The art getting trippier with each page as Batman hallucinates while having to turn the book as if the reader is walking through the maze as well。”Part one was awesome! The artwork was spectacular and the story held my interest。 Looking forward to part two。 。。。more

I have to admit that I have not read a lot of Batman comics。 If you have seen the movies and understand the basic storyline of Batman this comic is not a bad place to start。 The drawings are great and the story about the court of owls is engaging。

I've read a lot of Batman。 I've seen the headlines so often of bold, new takes on The Dark Knight and how, "this isn't your mama's Batman。 This trade proves it。 A sharp, psychological thriller that sees Batman against a new enemy。 An enemy that he doesn't even believe in。 I'm going to jump into Vol。 2 asap。 I've read a lot of Batman。 I've seen the headlines so often of bold, new takes on The Dark Knight and how, "this isn't your mama's Batman。 This trade proves it。 A sharp, psychological thriller that sees Batman against a new enemy。 An enemy that he doesn't even believe in。 I'm going to jump into Vol。 2 asap。 。。。more

Stellar art and stellar story。 I always appreciate that there’s so much identity and trauma subtext to the Batman story and it really shows here。

The highest point reached in the Snyder’s run。 Only story with the “death of the family” worth reading。

très cool pour un premier comic dc

Snyder's writing is my favorite encapsulation of these characters。 Court of Owls is dark, dimensional, engaging, and a truly fun ride of a story。 I think Capullo's art is second only to Tim Sale and he and Snyder's magnetic chemistry lend a cinematic quality to the pages。 My only gripe is that the last few pages felt kind of muddied and hurried, but even within them are quirky surprises。 As a side note, I am SO hoping for Reeves to narrow focus on this storyline for the next film。 It's like the Snyder's writing is my favorite encapsulation of these characters。 Court of Owls is dark, dimensional, engaging, and a truly fun ride of a story。 I think Capullo's art is second only to Tim Sale and he and Snyder's magnetic chemistry lend a cinematic quality to the pages。 My only gripe is that the last few pages felt kind of muddied and hurried, but even within them are quirky surprises。 As a side note, I am SO hoping for Reeves to narrow focus on this storyline for the next film。 It's like the ultimate Eyes Wide Shut meets an indestructible Capulet Family noir plot。 。。。more

Very cool! A solid story so far, that builds upon layers of Bruce's family not explored in another other Batman stories(to my knowledge, a newbie to Batman) and explores his connection to the city。 It's villain is very cool, and seems like a legitimately worthy adversary for the well-honed and trained Batman who has had tons of experience battling evil。 They have a element of mystery unlike many other villains who have established origin stories(which isn't their fault or even really a problem) Very cool! Now, that was unexpectedly good and it didn't have any reason to be but it seems that Scott Snyder managed to escape the usual and offer something quite fresh。 Now, that was unexpectedly good and it didn't have any reason to be but it seems that Scott Snyder managed to escape the usual and offer something quite fresh。 。。。more
