I’ve been reading these books voraciously and loving everything about them， but did not really enjoy this one sadly :（ it felt like a lot of side quests and exposition。 I found it difficult to follow， and the pacing was strange。 I still adore the series though and can’t wait to read the next two when they’re released。

As a series， one of the best I've read when I first binge read it continuously。 As a volume， the plot moved at a slower paced and everything is more of a set up to the last two arcs。 We have reached in the story where every character they came across are showing up again but have little affect to the plot。 I think it to close all the loose ends。Regardless of the plot， the main spotlight are the character interactions。 Banyue and Little Pei， Rain Master and Pei Ming， and of course， Xie Lian and H As a series， one of the best I've read when I first binge read it continuously。 As a volume， the plot moved at a slower paced and everything is more of a set up to the last two arcs。 We have reached in the story where every character they came across are showing up again but have little affect to the plot。 I think it to close all the loose ends。Regardless of the plot， the main spotlight are the character interactions。 Banyue and Little Pei， Rain Master and Pei Ming， and of course， Xie Lian and Hua Cheng。 （view spoiler）[ I suspect that Little Pei is crushing on Banyue and it's adorable how he reacts while Banyue is oblivious。 Pei Ming is getting the worst luck and it's fun to see him suffer。 The tumor is finally being humble。 And finally the queen herself make an appearance。 If there is anyone I adore most after the two love birds， it's Rain Master come to save the day。And my two favorite characters are getting a lot more closer in their relationship。 How I adore the small moments they get when it's just the two of them。 （hide spoiler）] 。。。more
