I loved this continuation of the Dark Olympus series！ Apollo and Cassandra were quite the pair。 Their relationship was a slow burn that combusted into quite the spark。 I didn’t expect the dom in Apollo to come out but I LOVED it！ Cassandra is very stereotypical bratty sub but it worked。 It’s interesting to see all the twists and turns coming out in this story， and I KNOW Aphrodite’s story next will keep me on my toes！

I had such high hopes for this book but I think its been my least favorite so far。 I was excited for Cassandra and Apollo's story and the hint of some bondage dom/sub action to come but it was very light on the kink and soft on the bondage compared to the extent of some of her previous book。 Also the smut wasn't nearly as prevalent。 Which， lets be honest， is why we're here。 Those things aside， while I get why the more politicy， mystery plot was required to move the story along， I just hated that I had such high hopes for this book but I think its been my least favorite so far。 I was excited for Cassandra and Apollo's story and the hint of some bondage dom/sub action to come but it was very light on the kink and soft on the bondage compared to the extent of some of her previous book。 Also the smut wasn't nearly as prevalent。 Which， lets be honest， is why we're here。 Those things aside， while I get why the more politicy， mystery plot was required to move the story along， I just hated that it came at the sacrifice of their romance story。 I really like Cassandra's character。 Her fire and sass paired with that need to just give up control behind closed doors was something I could relate to。 I got her walls and barriers。 And Apollo's understanding and care for her was something I craved reading more of。 You could sense his genuineness coming off the page and I wanted more of it。 And their ending felt so fast and unfinished。 As well the constant internal monologue of Cassandra's about the Thirteen became a bit repetitive and monotonous。 We get it。 You have a history and hate them。 Hence where this lost a few stars for me。 I'm interested in seeing where the stroy goes from here and what secrets will be revealed in book 5。Tropes: fake dating， forced proximity， dom/subTW: death， murder， consensual bondage， assault， violence 。。。more

Like the continuation to the Dark Olympus storyline but honestly the characters fall pretty flat for me。 Apollo is just one of the authors MMC that’s obsessed with the FMC and she doesn’t know it， lacks a personality other than being protective and selfless for the city。 And of course， the FMC is curvy and “doesn’t know how beautiful she is”。 If the author had her say “apollo you know i don’t do anything unless i choose to” one more time …。 🙄Only giving it 3 ⭐️ bc I enjoyed the 🌶️

I've loved this series so far， and this was no exception， though it had a different feel to it。 Though the insidious Olympus schemes are still happening all around them， Cassandra & Apollo's relationship felt more。。。sweet to me than I expected from this world。 I liked the reverse grumpy sunshine aspect here， though Apollo still brought the spice when they finally gave into each other。 The secluded setting outside the city was interesting， and the actual mystery of Midas is revealed more。 Overall I've loved this series so far， and this was no exception， though it had a different feel to it。 Though the insidious Olympus schemes are still happening all around them， Cassandra & Apollo's relationship felt more。。。sweet to me than I expected from this world。 I liked the reverse grumpy sunshine aspect here， though Apollo still brought the spice when they finally gave into each other。 The secluded setting outside the city was interesting， and the actual mystery of Midas is revealed more。 Overall， this was a good installment。 I only felt that the Big Obstacle holding Cassandra back was wrapped up super quickly， and she also didn't really hold a "friend" （in the interest of no spoilers） accountable for the danger she was put in。 I honestly want to see this character get some kind of comeuppance。 Even though this is a cutthroat world， the foundations have now started to crumble with their double cross。 It'll be interesting to see where this leads next。 。。。more
