Summary

It is an ordinary Thursday， and things should finally be returning to normal。

Except trouble is never far away where the Thursday Murder Club are concerned。 A local news legend is on the hunt for a sensational headline， and soon the gang are hot on the trail of two murders， ten years apart。

To make matters worse， a new nemesis pays Elizabeth a visit， presenting her with a deadly mission: kill or be killed。。。

While Elizabeth grapples with her conscience （and a gun）， the gang and their unlikely new friends （including TV stars， money launderers and ex-KGB colonels） unravel a new mystery。 But can they catch the culprit and save Elizabeth before the murderer strikes again？

Goes without saying that this is a good book ！！ I think i enjoyed it more than the second one but not as much as the first。 The characters are cute and i like the twists and turns it throws at you

The third book of The Thursday Murder Club was just as exciting as the previous one。 Luckily， a close friend lent books two and three together and so once I’d finished book 2， I immediately started book 3。And I loved it！In the third adventure， the septuagenarians， Elizabeth， Joyce， Ron， and Ibrahim come across a cold case that catches their attention; The murder of Bethany Waits。 They begin their investigation by setting up an interview with Mike Waghorn， on the ‘South East Tonight’ show。 They d The third book of The Thursday Murder Club was just as exciting as the previous one。 Luckily， a close friend lent books two and three together and so once I’d finished book 2， I immediately started book 3。And I loved it！In the third adventure， the septuagenarians， Elizabeth， Joyce， Ron， and Ibrahim come across a cold case that catches their attention; The murder of Bethany Waits。 They begin their investigation by setting up an interview with Mike Waghorn， on the ‘South East Tonight’ show。 They discover Bethany had been investigating a large VAT fraud which had made millions for ‘Heather Garbutt’ and ‘Jack Mason。’ They continue their digging and find out that Heather went to prison， but Bethany was murdered by having her car driven off a cliff。 However， the body was never found。 Jack Mason meanwhile remains free， and a very wealthy man。 Meanwhile， Elizabeth and her husband were kidnapped and threatened by ‘The Viking。’ If Elizabeth does not kill the Viking’s target （who also happens to be a friend of Elizabeth’s） he will kill her friends。 As you delve into this third book， you see different sides to all the characters。 You see them grow and fall in love; you see their determination， and you see the sadness as you realise Elizabeth’s husband is slowly deteriorating with signs of dementia。This book as it all; murder， mystery， love， deceit， and friendship。 A highly recommended book for those over the age of 18。 。。。more

Meine Lieblingsrenter/-detektive sind wieder da！ Ich habe mich so auf dieses Buch gefreut und bin nicht enttäuscht worden。 Ein seit 10 Jahren ungeklärter Mordfall hält den Donnerstagsmordclub mächtig auf Trab - dabei müssen sie selbst aufpassen， dass sie sich nicht in Gefahr bringen。 Obwohl sie das vorher auch nicht aufgehalten hat… Eine wunderbar gelungene Fortsetzung。 Klassischer Krimi á la Agatha Christie durchsetzt mit einer guten Prise Humor！

die vier rüstigen Senioren von Coopers Chase ermitteln in ihrem 3。 Fall4，5 SterneEs ist Donnerstag， 11 Uhr， und im Puzzlestübchen der Coopers Chase Seniorenresidenz treffen sich wie jede Woche Joyce， Elizabeth， Ron und Ibrahim， die als Donnerstagsmordclub Cold Cases bearbeiten。Diesmal geht es um die Moderatorin und Journalistin Bethany Waites， die vor 10 Jahren den Drahtziehern eines großen Steuerbetrugs immer näher kam und deshalb mit ihrem Auto von einer Klippe gestoßen wurde， deren Leiche abe die vier rüstigen Senioren von Coopers Chase ermitteln in ihrem 3。 Fall4，5 SterneEs ist Donnerstag， 11 Uhr， und im Puzzlestübchen der Coopers Chase Seniorenresidenz treffen sich wie jede Woche Joyce， Elizabeth， Ron und Ibrahim， die als Donnerstagsmordclub Cold Cases bearbeiten。Diesmal geht es um die Moderatorin und Journalistin Bethany Waites， die vor 10 Jahren den Drahtziehern eines großen Steuerbetrugs immer näher kam und deshalb mit ihrem Auto von einer Klippe gestoßen wurde， deren Leiche aber wohl vom Meer weggetragen und nie gefunden wurde。Doch die vier Senioren wären nicht der Donnerstagsmordclub， wenn sie durch ihre Ermittlungen nicht wieder so viel Staub aufwirbeln， dass die Folgen bis in die Gegenwart reichen und es Tote gibt。 Und Elizabeth entführt wird。Meine Meinung:Alle， die den Donnerstagsmordclub kennen und lieben， werden auch beim dritten Teil wieder voll auf ihre Kosten kommen。Für Neueinsteiger ist der dritte Teil eher weniger geeignet， weil der besondere Charme der vier alten Leutchen und des Seniorenheimes nicht so gut übermittelt werden， da v。a。 auch Coopers Chase nicht mehr （detailliert） beschrieben wird。 Ich empfehle daher unbedingt die Bände chronologisch zu lesen。Man trifft nicht nur wieder auf die vier rüstigen Senioren Joyce， Elizabeth， Ron und Ibrahim， sondern auch auf die Polizisten Donna und Chris， Elizabeth' Mann Stephen und Bogdan， der dem Donnerstagsmordclub immer helfend zur Seite steht。Dann gibt es einige neue Charaktere， zB einen Wikinger， der töten will， es aber nicht kann; einen Polizeipräsidenten， der Krimis schreibt， und einen ehemaligen russischen KGB-Agenten， die die Geschichte um die charmanten Pensionisten weiter aufpeppen。Ich wurde wieder bestens unterhalten， der Humor gefällt mir wirklich sehr gut。 Und der anfangs einfach scheinende Cold Case entwickelt sich zu einem komplexen Fall， der bis in die Gegenwart reicht。Und diesmal kommt auch die Romantik nicht zu kurz。Der Schluss war irgendwie nicht sooo sehr nach meinem Geschmack; die Aufklärung， wer der Täter ist， kam urplötzlich （hat mich aber nicht überrascht）， dafür gab es weitere - überraschende - Auflösungen， die mich aber auch nicht alle sooo zufriedengestellt haben。 Aber es war nicht kitschig， sondern authentisch。Mit den drolligen Tagebucheinträgen von Joyce， vielen amüsanten Dialogen und einem wirklich witzigen Wellnessaufenthalt hat mich auch der 3。 Teil des Donnerstagsmordclubs wieder voll überzeugen können！Fazit:British-charmanter Cosy Crime mit vier wunderbar humorvollen Senioren， die in ihrem dritten Abenteuer aus einem Cold Case einen aktuellen Fall machen und dabei natürlich in Gefahr geraten。 。。。more

I always like the dynamics of the Thursday Murder Club。 I felt that there was too much going on with other characters。 The Club is investigating a cold case murder， we meet television personalities， spys， crooks and we now have a couple of new love couples。 I felt the book moved slowly and tried to take on too many themes。 I wanted to give it 4。3 stars。
