This was so cute and made my heart so happy。 It was a fluffy read but still handled a number of difficult topics with ease。I definitely thought that the survival course was going to be more prominent in the story， so I was a bit taken aback by the pacing。

3。25 ⭐️ i think i lose interest as soon as enemies become friends which was like 50% into the book so it’s safe to say that i enjoyed the first half of the book a little too much that i got bored when they became friends but that sounds like a me-problem（？）。 the writing was solid and the banter was fire though。

So freakin’ cute！ Talia Hibbert does a great job writing characters who are easy to root for despite， or even because of， their idiosyncrasies and Brad and Celine were absolutely charming。 A lot of the side characters did get a little lost in the shuffle just because there were so many to keep track of， but overall I would definitely call Talia Hibbert’s first foray into YA a success！

4。5/5This debut YA has all the fabulous banter and warmth of their adult romances， and coupled with all the anxiety and tumultuousness of teenage life， it makes for a winning combo。 I loved Brad and Celine as characters — two brilliant but very stubborn kids who are willing to look everywhere except directly in the mirror to confront their undeniable feelings and just be happy， but mushy and adorable all the same。 Their voices felt so distinct， and Hibbert imbued them both with such realistic pe 4。5/5This debut YA has all the fabulous banter and warmth of their adult romances， and coupled with all the anxiety and tumultuousness of teenage life， it makes for a winning combo。 I loved Brad and Celine as characters — two brilliant but very stubborn kids who are willing to look everywhere except directly in the mirror to confront their undeniable feelings and just be happy， but mushy and adorable all the same。 Their voices felt so distinct， and Hibbert imbued them both with such realistic personalities that complemented one another beautifully。 Nice to see Hibbert addressing OCD and intrusive thoughts on the page， and making clear that while it is possible to live with and manage the disorder， it is always a part of what you do and how you interact with the world。 I think my only real qualm with this is that I wished the larger story around Brad and Celine felt stronger。 I went in expecting this to be more firmly about the leadership experience/camp， and those scenes are where I felt story was at its strongest。 And while the school/home scenes were also great， I’m not sure they made the most of the characters and supporting cast。 The stakes of everyone’s investment in the expedition and what it meant didn’t always come through as clearly as they could have。 This could also have used a sweet little flash forward or epilogue at the end showing the two of them going off to college， which would have made my life！ （I know this really is a romance hallmark， but I really feel it would fit here as well！） Readers who already love Hibbert’s style and character development while very likely enjoy this。 I hope they keep writing for this age group because there is so much potential！ 。。。more

Such a sweet， funny enjoyable read。 Both Celien and Brad were fleshed out and relatable and their shift from “enemies” to friends again and more was adorable and funny。 Love Talia’s writing style and how she gave them both distinct voices， made them emotionally aware but also very much teenagers still trying ti figure themselves out。 4 ⭐️。
