Summary

An aged man awoken from an icy grave, with a message from the gods。 Defeat the darkness that consumes Levanthria。

When Gregor wakes from his apparent murder, he has no idea how long he has been dead for or any idea of his former life。 All he has is an overwhelming urge to find the darkness that these gods speak of。 After stumbling into a small village where a young family have been slaughtered, it doesn't take long for Gregor to realise that demons are responsible。 Intent on vanquishing the darkness and freeing the town, Gregor will not stop until he has found who is responsible for summoning the demon plague。

A Frost Of Fear And Fortitude is the novella set in the world of Levanthria。 If you like monster hunters, action and retellings with a twist, then you will love A。P Beswick's Father Christmas inspired dark tale。

One thing is for sure Father Christmas has never been this badass。

The beginning of the short stort is quite rushed and the story doesn't develop properly because of it。 The background story and plot is good, just needed to be more developed in order to get invested in the plot and the characters。 The beginning of the short stort is quite rushed and the story doesn't develop properly because of it。 The background story and plot is good, just needed to be more developed in order to get invested in the plot and the characters。 。。。more

Little short story kind of a cool dark origin twist on Santa

Good build up but felt that the ending rushed to a conclusion

Good but I wish it had more, I felt like I read just the first act of a book。 The bonus short stories at the end were a lovely surprise and had me at the edge of my seat。

I honestly just was inundated with this dude on my Instagram so I decided to try this one which was a supposed to be a gritty retelling of the origin of Santa Claus/Father Christmas。 Not my favorite。

A brilliant novella that has got me excited for the main series。 Had to sneak this one in today before Xmas is truly over! I love Gregor and would love to read more stories about him

Great idea, middling executionThis book had tremendous potential and a solid story to build on, but the writing felt like it was trying too hard and it could really use a good editor to help work through some grammar and continuity issues。

Loved the fantasy setting and atmosphere, as well as the action sequences。 A bit too descriptive in some places and with grammatical inaccuracies here and there, otherwise it would have been 5 stars。

Enjoyable read’I really enjoyed this。 Though I want more tales of Gregor hunting the darkness and his gifts to others。 Fun adventure

4。5 stars for this novella and 2 short storiesA dark origin story for Father Christmas, loved it。 Sad it wasn't longer。 I enjoyed the pace, the action, and the bit of mystery。The first short story "A Loch of Grace and Greed" followed Leandra and I devoured her story and would be ecstatic to see her exact a bit of revenge。The second short story "Dust" felt like a perfect scary story for around the campfire。I picked this up for free on kindle as the author was giving it away for the holidays, and 4。5 stars for this novella and 2 short storiesA dark origin story for Father Christmas, loved it。 Sad it wasn't longer。 I enjoyed the pace, the action, and the bit of mystery。The first short story "A Loch of Grace and Greed" followed Leandra and I devoured her story and would be ecstatic to see her exact a bit of revenge。The second short story "Dust" felt like a perfect scary story for around the campfire。I picked this up for free on kindle as the author was giving it away for the holidays, and I'm so glad I did。 I'm looking forward to reading more of his works。 。。。more

Wow! Finished in one sitting! The only downside? It wasn't long enough! I would love to see this become a full length novel! Wow! Finished in one sitting! The only downside? It wasn't long enough! I would love to see this become a full length novel! 。。。more

Loved it but I just found the book too short。 Would’ve loved the story to continue and be at least twice as long。 I was only just getting into the characters and plots when it ended。 Great writing though!

An interesting Santa concept。 I can help but wonder when the next book comes out to hopefully answer some of the questions I am left with after this one。

Exactly what I wanted a darker twist on a brave badass Santa! I can't wait to read more of this work。 Exactly what I wanted a darker twist on a brave badass Santa! I can't wait to read more of this work。 。。。more

If you like The Witcher, you'll love this book!I really loved this author's dark fantasy retelling of Father Christmas, although it took me a bit to get the connection。The only reason it's not 5 stars for me is that, at times, there are some minor grammar inconsistencies and some parts are overly descriptive for my preference。Definitely recommend!👌 If you like The Witcher, you'll love this book!I really loved this author's dark fantasy retelling of Father Christmas, although it took me a bit to get the connection。The only reason it's not 5 stars for me is that, at times, there are some minor grammar inconsistencies and some parts are overly descriptive for my preference。Definitely recommend!👌 。。。more

A great quick read。 Would love to have more tales og Gregor and his travels。 Seems like the start of something more。

Very entertaining! Short for my taste and I would quite enjoy more stories featuring this wandering monster hunter who leaves magical gifts。Could have benefited from an editor in a few places。

Another good book by Beswick roll on April for the new one

I think it's good as a draft。 The beginning of a novel。 I was very excited to read this but was left quite disappointed。 To be honest, there are some parts where the story feels rushed, others where adequately described but I feel it was still missing a lot。 There's so much left up in the air and not even acknowledged。 As I said, feels like I read a draft with potential。 I think it's good as a draft。 The beginning of a novel。 I was very excited to read this but was left quite disappointed。 To be honest, there are some parts where the story feels rushed, others where adequately described but I feel it was still missing a lot。 There's so much left up in the air and not even acknowledged。 As I said, feels like I read a draft with potential。 。。。more

I really enjoyed this novella。 However, I wish it was a full length novel! The story was so interesting and had me hooked and I didn’t want it to end so soon! I will be reading more by this author for sure!

When Gregor was told he needs to find the darkness things get pretty intense。 He comes upon a village with unpredictable obstacles。 Devastation comes to a family living in the village and the outcome is not good。 Gregor needs to find the demons and also find out who sent for them。 Gregor continues to search for the life he used to have。 But what about the mysterious woman? Who is she? Great story and a real page turner。
