Summary

Every Halloween, Satan's Affair will come to you。 We travel the country, offering terrifying haunted houses, thrilling rides and the tastiest food。

And with every passing town, I cleanse this world, one execution at a time。

I hide within the walls, casting my judgement for those that reek of evil, singing lullabies to their rotting souls。 Once you've been chosen, there's no escaping my henchmen—they cater to my every desire。

You can run and you can hide, but it only excites me。

Come。 Take a walk through my dollhouse, where your screams will blend and your cute little pleas will go unanswered。

But I can't promise it'll be over quickly。。。

Trigger Warning: This is a dark read that contains graphic violence, sex, and triggering situations。

Quick novella before the Cat and Mouse series。 3。5, messed up Harley Quinn origin story vibes。 Rated X。 Not bad, and I appreciated the shock factor。 It’s a messed up book, but that’s why I’m reading it。

No way to sugarcoat it…this book is fucked up…You have been warned…That being said, I’m glad I went ahead and read it before starting Haunting Adeline so I had a better comprehension of Sibby’s character when I met her in HA。

WHAT did I just read?!?! This def gives more background on sibby, but I still wasn’t intrigued by her character。 However it makes me understand her a little more (obviously)。

I am heading into the Cat and Mouse Duet with as little information as possible other than BookTok has made it abundantly clear that I need to read it。 So, I started with Satan's Affair, and this was a trip。 Not a bad trip, but darker than I had anticipated。 No spoilers - but that ending really messed with my head。My biggest complaint with Satan's Affair is that I wish Sibby had gotten more than just a novella。 I want to know more about what happened during her time at the cult, what was going o I am heading into the Cat and Mouse Duet with as little information as possible other than BookTok has made it abundantly clear that I need to read it。 So, I started with Satan's Affair, and this was a trip。 Not a bad trip, but darker than I had anticipated。 No spoilers - but that ending really messed with my head。My biggest complaint with Satan's Affair is that I wish Sibby had gotten more than just a novella。 I want to know more about what happened during her time at the cult, what was going on during the past five years and pretty much everything in between。 There is a lot to explore with the character that I feel was cut short due to this being a novella。I'm looking forward to starting the Cat and Mouse Duet, but I think some time in between to read something a lot less heavy is very much needed。 。。。more

I am in ABSOLUTE shock。 I literally can’t believe that I became so attached to such an unhinged, psychotic and murderous character named Sibby。 Page turn by page turn, it was literally shock after shock。 I always felt like nothing is gonna shock me anymore, this book is so wild already - it can’t get any wilder。 But surprise, surprise it always did。 I’m so excited to read the duet now that I’ve gotten a glimpse of Zade! I found this storyline very interesting。 The plot twist maybe could have come sooner, but since this is a novella I understand why it came as late as it did。 Overall, I would say I enjoyed reading this and would recommend this。 Keep in mind there are many topics in this book that could be triggering to some。 Definitely check out the trigger warnings before picking this up。

This is a 4⭐️ because I can’t bring myself to give HD anything lower。 Chapters with Zade? LOVED。Reverse Harem Chapters? Not so loved。 Chapters in the mental institution? ALSO LOVED。 The escape chapter? LOVED LOVED LOVED。 I feel like sibby is such an underrated character in the duet

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 As a psychology major in school, I really enjoyed the book。 I was able to see from a different point of view, and I think H。D。 Carlton did a great job of portraying that。 I really enjoyed during the end when the book was being wrapped up, and a lot of great points about being normal or crazy came about。 Highly recommend this book for sure!

Well written, unique story line but too gory and gross and cruel, even if its monster hunting its intense。 Its a book that pushes boundaries but it just wasn't for me。 Well written, unique story line but too gory and gross and cruel, even if its monster hunting its intense。 Its a book that pushes boundaries but it just wasn't for me。 。。。more

While not my cup of tea, the book was well written。 Disturbing, graphic, horrifying。 A bit too violent and gory for me but it kept me reading and wondering where this was going。

When will goodreads allow us half stars?I'm not quite sure how I feel about this book。 The last half is way more interesting than the beginning -probably because it has less gore and more story- but I don't know about that ending。 Mind blowing, sure, but heard about problematics related to depiction of mental health so I'm a bit on the fence here。 When will goodreads allow us half stars?I'm not quite sure how I feel about this book。 The last half is way more interesting than the beginning -probably because it has less gore and more story- but I don't know about that ending。 Mind blowing, sure, but heard about problematics related to depiction of mental health so I'm a bit on the fence here。 。。。more

I read this after reading Haunting and Hunting Adeline, so it took the surprise out of the ending。 I enjoyed getting to learn about Sibby’s childhood and how she came to be, but I definitely prefer the other two books better。

very amazing BUT VERY SHORT I was literally about to cry because at the end like so much drama could’ve happened if the author continued writinggggg it was so annoying I was so invested I didn’t even realise it was nearly over :(

Dark and twisted。 Shew。 I can’t deny it captivated me but it was a hard read because of the graphic violence。 Super stoked for her duet series !

Kelsey Hyser

Sibels crazinessI love how we get to see Sibels side on the things we read in cat and mouse but from her perspective。

Mayra

Some of Sibel’s inner monologue was a bit childish & there was a lot of word proximity and repetition, but overall it was fine。
