Did I read this in 1 night? Yes。Was it 6am when I finished and was devastated with the ending?? Also, yes。I loved the progression of Manon。 I never thought I’d say that from when she was introduced。 Also, the continuation of Rowan and Aelin? 🥹😍 Can’t ship them hard enough。This may be my favorite book in the series。 Idk! I love them all, but have been thinking about it all day, so right now, it’s up near the top!

。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 I think this is the best one of the bunch。 Do I care about Rowan and aelin’s romance? No。 So what do I care about you may be asking: basically everyone else, excluding Aedion。 Lysandra, Manon, Elide and Lorcan carried this book and while I think SJM might’ve overdone it with character pairings, I appreciate most of them。 Elide and Lorcan is the best SJM couple ever and I stand by that。 Idk if I’ll ever make it to the last 2 books but I’m at least open to reading more SJM in the future。

How on earth did readers wait for the next two books to release after that? Needless to say I’m itching to dive into the final (I’m writing this review after reading ‘Tower Of Dawn’ too as time got away from me) now。 Personally I think ‘Queen Of Shadows’ is still my favourite of these books to date – due mainly to the staggering number of twists, turns and some of the showdowns that I’d been waiting for – but I still adored this book regardless。 The whole of this series is undeniably a ‘must read’ for all fantasy fans。 。。。more

To be completely honest Aelin was starting to bug me mid-way through this book and I was living for the Lorcan/Elide and Manon chapters。 But my annoyance in the beginning was more than made up for with non-stop action of the last few chapters。 I did a tandem read with Tower of Dawn and I'm so glad I read them that way! Bring on Kingdom of Ash。 To be completely honest Aelin was starting to bug me mid-way through this book and I was living for the Lorcan/Elide and Manon chapters。 But my annoyance in the beginning was more than made up for with non-stop action of the last few chapters。 I did a tandem read with Tower of Dawn and I'm so glad I read them that way!
