Wtf did I just listen to?!

3。5Wish the Aaron plot line was further developed, and also, this did not need to be over 400 pages。

It was more fluff than I expected and also more sex than I expected at the same time。 🥹❤️

This book is extremely hyped in Tiktok so I thought I'd give it a go since the synopsis sounded good。 But I can't stand this writing style and DNFD at 50 pages in。 There's just so much character info dumping and the characters internal monologue and thoughts sound like that of a 8 year old。 I don't have the patience to continue with it。 This book is extremely hyped in Tiktok so I thought I'd give it a go since the synopsis sounded good。 But I can't stand this writing style and DNFD at 50 pages in。 There's just so much character info dumping and the characters internal monologue and thoughts sound like that of a 8 year old。 I don't have the patience to continue with it。 。。。more

Okay JJ Robbie and Henry I get, but the rest of the hockey team? I still have no idea who are Bobbie, Russ and many others…。 Overall it was okay but my mind kept comparing it to The Deal: the rich guy with no mom and a bad relationship with his dad, the huge house that he owns… of course it was not the same story but on some point I found it extremely similar。 。。。more

It would be appreciated if non Muslim authors stayed away from writing Muslim characters。 Don’t get me wrong, I adore when there’s Muslim rep in a book however, that does not mean it’s okay writing a sacred phrase such as “ya Allah” in a smutty book。 Just because you want to market your book as diverse, doesn’t give you the right to spread misinformation and use phrases that aren’t supposed written。 If I could give this book zero stars, I would

This book was another TikTok purchase and I just…it was so interesting in the first 31% of the book maybe and then you get halfway and it’s just…ANNOYING EVERYTHING IS ANNOYING。 I had to set it down (virtually) for weeks and force myself to pick it back up (virtually) because I hate not finishing my books

Denise (ramblingoutloud)

Okay, so yes, I liked it。 I liked the communication and the unexpected steam and what felt like an adult relationship and that there was no third act breakup。But it was too long and sometimes too messy and the majority of the sex scenes felt meh and unnecessary。That said, I’m very sure sports romance fans will love this one and I’m not dissuading anyone to read it。TW: Disordered eating, weight and food shaming, some violence, anxiety, gaslighting and toxic friendship。/ Denise

It was a cute book it reminds me of Episode in a way。 It brought me a lot of stress but when your reading but something about reading it at 2:30 in the middle of night your not really that affected。

Omg I LOVED this book。 I thought it was just going to be a silly little sporty romance, and I mean in many ways it was just that, but idk man… it was also SO MUCH MORE。Honestly, I was a bit deceived because I was not expecting this book to be so spicy, considering the the cute cartoon cover。 But omg sometimes I was like, «😮🫣🤭», because it was… a lot。 Even though there was quite a bit of spice, it’s not like this book was all spice and no plot。 No no。 There was a lot of plot - it was sweet, drama Omg I LOVED this book。 I thought it was just going to be a silly little sporty romance, and I mean in many ways it was just that, but idk man… it was also SO MUCH MORE。Honestly, I was a bit deceived because I was not expecting this book to be so spicy, considering the the cute cartoon cover。 But omg sometimes I was like, «😮🫣🤭», because it was… a lot。 Even though there was quite a bit of spice, it’s not like this book was all spice and no plot。 No no。 There was a lot of plot - it was sweet, dramatic, and funny - and I enjoyed it all!I also quite liked how fleshed out each of the characters were; and seeing them and each of their relationships progress throughout the book was so special。 I think the dual narrative aspect was really beneficial in that it allowed me to get to know more characters on deeper and different levels。 I grew to love so many of them; and I wish I could have my own Nate or Henry in my life😭✋🏼Overall, I feel like I only have good things to say about this book。 It was so cute and spicy; but also it was quite comforting。 It touches on some hard topics that I feel like many college students face, regardless if they’re an athlete or not。 Also, it highlighted a lot of human experiences that I related to and it made me feel understood, which was quite nice。 Perhaps this is a comfort book for me now?? Hm idk。 Mayhaps😗Anywho this was a long review。 I’d say I recommend this book, but also I know it wouldn’t be for everyone。 I suppose if you like rom coms and don’t mind the story being a bit slow (this book is quite long! and a bit slow but tbh i didn’t mind bc i liked the characters so much), this actually might be right up your alley… mayhaps give this a go, if you’re in the mood!😉 。。。more

Horrible。 Utterly disgusting。 I can’t believe I waste my time on this。 It took me three different months to try and attempt to finish this。 I finally got around to it and I honestly can’t remember a thing。 Smut? Not anything memorable or ground breaking。 Plot? No plot。 Characters I liked? No one except Henry。 Nathan and Anastasia annoyed me so much。 Nathan is so ICK and boyish。 Anastasia idk she was crying half the time

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 I started to become disinterested at around 60% through。 In my opinion, the book should’ve ended there。 They were together, had their little conflict with Aaron, and were now happy, but of course, it didn’t end。 I forced myself to continue reading the remaining 40%。My biggest grievance had to be that it took Anastasia drowning (very irrelevant to the plot。 It’s brought up once after it happened) for her to admit she loves him。 Completely out of character as she has always been very big in commun I started to become disinterested at around 60% through。 In my opinion, the book should’ve ended there。 They were together, had their little conflict with Aaron, and were now happy, but of course, it didn’t end。 I forced myself to continue reading the remaining 40%。My biggest grievance had to be that it took Anastasia drowning (very irrelevant to the plot。 It’s brought up once after it happened) for her to admit she loves him。 Completely out of character as she has always been very big in communication。 The author attempts to explain this away, but it falls short。 I suspect she knew the book was getting boring and wanted to spice it up。 Secondly, Aaron and Anastasia。 Anastasia is made out to be this grumpy, communicative person, but when around Aaron this all goes out the window。 She lacks a backbone。 Like come on? He slut shamed you, called you fat, had you on a horrible diet, and your STILL defending him? Get a grip。All in all, this is just not very good。 。。。more

Reading books that have a lot of hype, I always go in expecting to be disappointed that it didn’t live up to my expectations。 But this book did not! Omg it was so good, the love and joy that radiates from this book is incredible。 it actually had me laughing out loud a few times! One of my favourite reads this year for sure!

This book was great if you’re looking for something to read while just turning off your brain。 It was a typical rom com but I really love the way the characters were written (ESPECIALLY the hockey boys) I really appreciated that the author wasn’t afraid to talk about eating disorders or abuse from teammates。 I’ve seen a lot of people say that this book has no plot, but I think this book is really just the story of Anastasia and Nathan and that’s exactly what you get。 I will definitely read a seq This book was great if you’re looking for something to read while just turning off your brain。 It was a typical rom com but I really love the way the characters were written (ESPECIALLY the hockey boys) I really appreciated that the author wasn’t afraid to talk about eating disorders or abuse from teammates。 I’ve seen a lot of people say that this book has no plot, but I think this book is really just the story of Anastasia and Nathan and that’s exactly what you get。 I will definitely read a sequel because, like I said, I really loved the side characters in this as well! I picked up this book because of the TikTok hype, but I was quite disappointed。There was potential with the storyline, especially with the character development with the main protagonists, as they evolve from frenemies to lovers。 The hockey captain versus figure skater, and grumpy vs sunshine tropes were fun to explore。However, this story was rife with pacing issues, cringey writing, and filler subplots that didn't make sense。 This book felt like a mishmash of Episode and Wattpad, which could ha I picked up this book because of the TikTok hype, but I was quite disappointed。There was potential with the storyline, especially with the character development with the main protagonists, as they evolve from frenemies to lovers。 The hockey captain versus figure skater, and grumpy vs sunshine tropes were fun to explore。However, this story was rife with pacing issues, cringey writing, and filler subplots that didn't make sense。 This book felt like a mishmash of Episode and Wattpad, which could have easily been avoided, if the book was properly edited and the story made much shorter (it didn't need to be 400+ pages)。It was a waste of time reading this, which is a shame, as the premises of the book were very promising。 。。。more

DNF @ 75%I've been sitting on whether or not I want to officially DNF this and considering I haven't thought about picking it back up all week, she's done。 This was just boring and loooooong。 They get together like asap and then it's just stupid little mini conflicts。 Also this was insanely spicy for no reason like chill tf out。 Maybe that's just me though lolz。 Anywho, this wasn't bad and I can see why people like it, but this was not for me and I just did not care at all。 DNF @ 75%I've been sitting on whether or not I want to officially DNF this and considering I haven't thought about picking it back up all week, she's done。 This was just boring and loooooong。 They get together like asap and then it's just stupid little mini conflicts。 Also this was insanely spicy for no reason like chill tf out。 Maybe that's just me though lolz。 Anywho, this wasn't bad and I can see why people like it, but this was not for me and I just did not care at all。 。。。more
