Because this covers every country in the world, it is obviously by necessity a quick glance at each country, but if you enjoy travel or the world in which we live, it's still a fun overview of exactly what's out there。 Because this covers every country in the world, it is obviously by necessity a quick glance at each country, but if you enjoy travel or the world in which we live, it's still a fun overview of exactly what's out there。 。。。more

Great pictures and information I don’t like to give spoilers on the books that I read。 I believe the blurb on the back is enough for you to decide if you will read the book or not。 If you choose to read, enjoy!

A comprehensive collage of shallow pictures representing 230 countries round a globe, complimented with a general briefings of each entity。An interesting approach to ushering the reader's interest into broadening personal acquaintance with particulars more substantially。 A comprehensive collage of shallow pictures representing 230 countries round a globe, complimented with a general briefings of each entity。An interesting approach to ushering the reader's interest into broadening personal acquaintance with particulars more substantially。 。。。more

I would have enjoyed this much more if I hadn’t purchased it on Kindle。 The snapshots of each country had some fun and interesting info and as a data geek I liked the simple population, etc。 stats。 Navigation on the Kindle was terrible and you couldn’t enlarge the photos to get a better look。

I love this book!

A beautifully glossy book that has sustained my travel pangs during lockdown。 Complete with book, music and movie recommendations for each country and food and drink to try it was the perfect antidote to being stuck at home。 Also pleasingly for a travel book like this it really did contain "every" country, with separate articles e。g。 Palestine, Tibet, Hong Kong, which many travel books gloss over。 A beautifully glossy book that has sustained my travel pangs during lockdown。 Complete with book, music and movie recommendations for each country and food and drink to try it was the perfect antidote to being stuck at home。 Also pleasingly for a travel book like this it really did contain "every" country, with separate articles e。g。 Palestine, Tibet, Hong Kong, which many travel books gloss over。 。。。more

Borrowed this book from the library and took my time reading it。 What a gem! I am definitely purchasing this book for my coffee table。 I wish I didn’t read it during the pandemic though, as it makes me so sad that we can’t travel anywhere now。

Different cover。 The Kindle edition format wasn't readable in the app, the font was to small with no way to adjust it。 Different cover。 The Kindle edition format wasn't readable in the app, the font was to small with no way to adjust it。 。。。more

A brief review of most countries in the world describing a bit of its culture, landscape, polulation, health, wealth and economic data, and giving a brief overview on food and lifestyle, as well as how to travel there。

This is a lush book with over 470 pages。 However, and this is a big however, there are only 2 pages per location。 That means that if you want to go to a country, you still need another book to tell you more info about the country。 The book is a whopping 8 lbs。 This is not some quick book you can flip through。 It really belongs in a library。 I'm really disappointed in this purchase。 It is not easy to handle or carry around。 This is a lush book with over 470 pages。 However, and this is a big however, there are only 2 pages per location。 That means that if you want to go to a country, you still need another book to tell you more info about the country。 The book is a whopping 8 lbs。 This is not some quick book you can flip through。 It really belongs in a library。 I'm really disappointed in this purchase。 It is not easy to handle or carry around。 。。。more

What an amazing book, though I do wish I had a more updated version now。 Each country in the world gets a single two-page spread。 Equal real estate goes to tiny island nations like Cyrus or Kiribati as to global super powers like France and the United States。 And 75% of each spread is devoted to photos, so you only get a very small taste of what each country has to offer。 That being said, Lonley Planet distills its information down to a fantastic overview, covering best times to visit, essential What an amazing book, though I do wish I had a more updated version now。 Each country in the world gets a single two-page spread。 Equal real estate goes to tiny island nations like Cyrus or Kiribati as to global super powers like France and the United States。 And 75% of each spread is devoted to photos, so you only get a very small taste of what each country has to offer。 That being said, Lonley Planet distills its information down to a fantastic overview, covering best times to visit, essential experiences, ways to "get under the skin" with recommended books, music, movies, food, and drink, plus a section on "tradmarks" and surprises。 I'm slowly reading it cover to cover and dream of a day when I could visit each country in alphabetical order, just like this。 This book will be the closest I'll likely get to that, but it's fun to dream。 I wouldn't really recommend it for travel planning, it's really more for dreaming or maybe a very early starting place for ideas of where to go and what to do。 Mainly it looks fantastic on the coffee table。 。。。more
