I appreciated the encouragement that this book provides。 Personally, I feel like I knew some of the things that were discussed but I was skeptical about moving forward。I think this book is great for encouraging others to follow through on their ideas and gives them a general path to follow。

For a self help guide, this was actually pretty well done and helpful。 Like all books of this category, it's quite repetitive and only about 10-15 percent of the content is really necessary to read。 However, that content is clearly presented, well articulated, practical, and applicable。 I'll be applying some of Guillebeau's advice to my own side gigs。 For a self help guide, this was actually pretty well done and helpful。 Like all books of this category, it's quite repetitive and only about 10-15 percent of the content is really necessary to read。 However, that content is clearly presented, well articulated, practical, and applicable。 I'll be applying some of Guillebeau's advice to my own side gigs。 。。。more

I really appreciated this book and it was an easy read, but I think this book would be better in your hands, as it has a work book to go along with it。

I really wanted to like this, but it'd really be better off as a series of free internet articles rather than a book。 I'm just glad I downloaded this for free off the Libby app, rather than paying $14。99 or whatever。 I had attended a webinar featuring Chris Guillebeau, and was captivated by his personal story。 However, this book was not as captivating, nor did it provide me with new information I didn't already know。 Perhaps I'm not the target audience。 I really wanted to like this, but it'd really be better off as a series of free internet articles rather than a book。 I'm just glad I downloaded this for free off the Libby app, rather than paying $14。99 or whatever。 I had attended a webinar featuring Chris Guillebeau, and was captivated by his personal story。 However, this book was not as captivating, nor did it provide me with new information I didn't already know。 Perhaps I'm not the target audience。 。。。more

It doesn’t really provide any unique insights nor provide any new thoughts on how to get started on a side hustle。 Literally could’ve been a short listicle。

No you won’t build a side hustle in 27 days after you’ve read this book。 This was quite clear to me, but I was willing to give the guy a chance anyway。He shares many success stories which make the concept of starting a business sound easy。 “Karen put her calendar on Etsy, and made €1500 each month! The first sale came in almost immediately!” These things are very rare and are not realistic。 Starting IS easy, selling is not。The book is, in fairness, written in a light and entertaining way。 I got No you won’t build a side hustle in 27 days after you’ve read this book。 This was quite clear to me, but I was willing to give the guy a chance anyway。He shares many success stories which make the concept of starting a business sound easy。 “Karen put her calendar on Etsy, and made €1500 each month! After reading this book I think I recognized that what I'm working on is not really a side hustle so much as a new career path。 This book had some good insights for how to turn something that interests you and turn it into a convenient way to make money and contains some good entrepreneurial advice on assessing the feasibility of the work you are doing。 I think this helped me think more about how I might monetize what I am doing, but also made me realize that overall what I am getting out of the After reading this book I think I recognized that what I'm working on is not really a side hustle so much as a new career path。 This book had some good insights for how to turn something that interests you and turn it into a convenient way to make money and contains some good entrepreneurial advice on assessing the feasibility of the work you are doing。 I think this helped me think more about how I might monetize what I am doing, but also made me realize that overall what I am getting out of the work I do is joy and meaning and less about money and that is a type of profit in itself even if I don't ever completely replace my income, and that I'd rather not sacrifice the joy, meaning, and potential contribution to the world if there ends up being a tradeoff。 。。。more

I enjoyed this book and found it helpful。 It could have been that I've been knee-deep in "starting a business" articles when really I was searching for side hustle material。 Quick chapters with actionable items but once you get to Week 3 it'll take a few days or even weeks to work on those action items。 I enjoyed this book and found it helpful。 It could have been that I've been knee-deep in "starting a business" articles when really I was searching for side hustle material。 Quick chapters with actionable items but once you get to Week 3 it'll take a few days or even weeks to work on those action items。 。。。more

The term "side hustle" has become quite popular in the modern vernacular。 The term, of course, refers to an activity or project undertaken outside of one's normal working hours with the aim of generating additional income。This book gives very practical tips as to how to start and grow a side hustle。 The author urges prospective hustlers to get into the habit of looking for opportunities everywhere, while making sure ideas are feasible(earn money in a short period of time and can be done using yo The term "side hustle" has become quite popular in the modern vernacular。 The term, of course, refers to an activity or project undertaken outside of one's normal working hours with the aim of generating additional income。This book gives very practical tips as to how to start and grow a side hustle。 The author urges prospective hustlers to get into the habit of looking for opportunities everywhere, while making sure ideas are feasible(earn money in a short period of time and can be done using your current skills and time), profitable (have a clear benefit that people will pay for) and persuasive (solve a problem and will bring recurring income), and can transition it to a next level/long term hustle。Offers must be clear and urgent, consisting of a promise, a pitch and a price (using the cost-plus model) - using deals and promotions to encourage action when necessary - and it should be as easy as possible for customers to pay。 Guillebeau encourages starting before you’re ready by conducting tests for “proof of concept” and then creatively reaching customers once they are identified。I quite enjoyed this book。 It doesn't quite walk you through how to go from idea to execution but does give some useful considerations and handy pointers if you already have some ideas you're toying with。 There are also suggestions of side hustles to try, so thats an option too - although, you'd probably have to look elsewhere for guidance on HOW to execute them。 。。。more

Everyone likes a side hustle with the potential of being a ticket to freedom and living the dream life, right? I do too。From the few books I have read so far in my life and the limited life experience I've gathered, I know not to fall into the mindset trap of actually believing titles such this one。 It's idealist at best to think you can actually come up with some working idea in just 27 days that people would pay for if you haven't done this before。A side hustle is just a lightweight customer o Everyone likes a side hustle with the potential of being a ticket to freedom and living the dream life, right? I do too。From the few books I have read so far in my life and the limited life experience I've gathered, I know not to fall into the mindset trap of actually believing titles such this one。 It's idealist at best to think you can actually come up with some working idea in just 27 days that people would pay for if you haven't done this before。A side hustle is just a lightweight customer oriented business。 As any business, it needs processes, research, a lot of time and some failure along the way。 Your customers are people just like you。 Would YOU trust just any offer out there promising something from an business owner you haven't heard of before? Chances are you wouldn't。 That business owner is you。 Your idea must be validated first, a lot of brainstorming must occur and then some more experience must be gathered doing marketing and shaping your customer persona。Unless you are already involved in something that is already spinning, the 27 day mark is more like a metaphor then a timeline。So just don't dive into this thinking this is your 27 step foolproof recipe for success。 Try rather to learn the principles behind this, for they are solid。Personally, I have published about three selling websites out there for various ideas in the past。 Only one of them worked。 Chances are the experience might be similar for you。Your idea might on the border of "somewhat working"。 Instead of backing down right from the start, try to take action following the guidelines in this book。 Try reading the 100 $ Startup too。 It will help you get a clearer picture。And most of all, approach the hustle your are doing just as you would a hobby。 Don't tie your life hopes and expectations to it。 Just choose something that works for you, try to learn, have fun and move on to the next item if it doesn't。 The secret in this approach is that you will maintain your enthusiasm along the way。 The next time you try something new, it's not from scratch, you will come from a place where you already know what might work and what might not。 Intuition will start to kick in all sort of various ways。I personally found the books of Chris Guillebeau inspiring and actionable。 so read theam with this mindset and give yourself some time。 Chances are in three years time you might see life altogether different。Good luck future hustler! 。。。more

I've been listening to the Side Hustle School podcast daily for months。 No doubt this is the best business school out there and it's free。 In this book, there's a structure and flow to Chris Guillebeau's knowledge and is a great reference book if entrepreneurs are stuck at any given step。 I listened to the audiobook while driving on a 7-hour roadtrip; great to make this time productive by learning so much, but also feel sleepy at the end of the trip so I stopped listening and finished later。 Ove I've been listening to the Side Hustle School podcast daily for months。 No doubt this is the best business school out there and it's free。 In this book, there's a structure and flow to Chris Guillebeau's knowledge and is a great reference book if entrepreneurs are stuck at any given step。 I listened to the audiobook while driving on a 7-hour roadtrip; great to make this time productive by learning so much, but also feel sleepy at the end of the trip so I stopped listening and finished later。 Overall, highly recommend this book for equipping yourself with starting-your-own-business-essentials and learning how the business world work to become wiser consumers。 。。。more
