Summary

Everyone should read this book

I read the e-book version which was a terrible shame。 At least if I had read the paper version I could have used it to wipe my arse。

Hands down, this is a really good book, and a really good method to understand different people。 It's easy to understand and has plenty of examples。 Still, I "only" give it 4 stars for two reasons - one, I personally felt that the author's tone was too casual, to the point where sometimes I felt like I can't take it seriously。 But that's just my personal taste, I guess。 Second, I believe it could have been shorter。 There are more than a few chapters where I felt that I'm reading the same thing o Hands down, this is a really good book, and a really good method to understand different people。 It's easy to understand and has plenty of examples。 Still, I "only" give it 4 stars for two reasons - one, I personally felt that the author's tone was too casual, to the point where sometimes I felt like I can't take it seriously。 But that's just my personal taste, I guess。 Second, I believe it could have been shorter。 There are more than a few chapters where I felt that I'm reading the same thing over and over again。 But I also guess that this is because I'm Red, and the author is probably Yellow。 :) 。。。more

Effortless and enjoyable reading on the topic of categorising - and reacting to - human behaviour。 Easy to understand and relate to, especially because each point is delivered with examples (although some appeared extremely exaggerated)。

A waste of time。

DNF’d。 This book taught me that it’s ok to put a book down and not finish it if you’re not feeling it。

I did like the start of the book, but as the writer already predicted and advised not to do, I soon skipped to the chapters I found most interesting and stopped reading the whole book。

I genuinely couldn't vibe with the book。Lots of fluff, not backed by science but by opinions。Just Hippocrate's Temperament but colour coded。The entire structure of the book was way too repetitive and long winded。 I genuinely couldn't vibe with the book。Lots of fluff, not backed by science but by opinions。Just Hippocrate's Temperament but colour coded。The entire structure of the book was way too repetitive and long winded。 。。。more

Didn't really reveal anything new, just helped to make some of it more obvious。 I don't think the colour model is an interesting but oversimplified approach。 If I were more interested in sussing people out, I would look into more in depth books but this was a good surface level insight。 Didn't really reveal anything new, just helped to make some of it more obvious。 I don't think the colour model is an interesting but oversimplified approach。 If I were more interested in sussing people out, I would look into more in depth books but this was a good surface level insight。 。。。more

As I read my rating went down。 Like it could've been much shorter but he kept shooting himself in the foot every time he did an interview。 Im sorry they were all so unbelievable, like I literally refuse to believe that these interviews took place how they did。Every example that he gave, or anyone he interviews, fits so perfectly into these moulds that he follows。 Look, I know that I'm still young and maybe I haven't come across people like this but no -actually don't look, there is no way that p As I read my rating went down。 Like it could've been much shorter but he kept shooting himself in the foot every time he did an interview。 Im sorry they were all so unbelievable, like I literally refuse to believe that these interviews took place how they did。Every example that he gave, or anyone he interviews, fits so perfectly into these moulds that he follows。 Look, I know that I'm still young and maybe I haven't come across people like this but no -actually don't look, there is no way that people like that exist。 Maybe it's the translation from Swedish, sure, I'll put it slightly down to that, but come on。 The interviews literally went like; Red: ahh I'm not angry I'm just misunderstood, nobody works as hard or as fast as me, people should keep up with me, everyone is incompetent。Yellow: I'm so happy, happy, happy rainbows sunshine I don't like to be negative, oh did I tell you about (completely off topic thing) blah blah, oh you just caught me in a lie, what, another exaggeration blah blah。Green: Ah I'm so content, I don't like change, ehh people are mean, we have to stick together, eh people are too fast。Blue: numbers numbers, I liked how each topic was equal numbers of pages, something analytical, why do something if you don't do it perfectly, I don't get along with other colours, words words number numbers。There is no way。 I'm sorry I'm just really passionate about things like this, please if you're going to lie make it a little bit more believable。Anyways enough about that。 Yeah you know, it was a good book to get into, super easy to read, the author is quite charismatic (I definitely think he has a superiority complex), but good writing style。 I think it's important to get other peoples point of view on life, so it's a win from me on that front, even if I don't believe everything he is saying。 Okay, I just updated the review to 3 stars, I am just looking back to the past couple days and I have been thinking about what colours people in my life, and that has to count for something, definitely didn't need to read the entire book but hey ho, we move on。I would recommend this book as something to skim read, like don't look too much into it, but why not give it a go。Actually back down to two stars, I'm just thinking about those interviews。 。。。more

Really good book, the only thing that troubled me is the way people organized in the 4 groups seemed to agree with the categorization a little too much。 Almost blindly。 To a dot。 Yes it's a great personality test but how is it possible the 4 test subjects were so spot on based on their color description。 Idk, it seemed off。 Or maybe it's just my blue talking, really interesting read nevertheless Really good book, the only thing that troubled me is the way people organized in the 4 groups seemed to agree with the categorization a little too much。 Almost blindly。 To a dot。 Yes it's a great personality test but how is it possible the 4 test subjects were so spot on based on their color description。 Idk, it seemed off。 Or maybe it's just my blue talking, really interesting read nevertheless 。。。more

Really not as good as people told me。Yes, I was able to find out with one of the four behavior-types would be associated to me。 But besides that? It felt like a book written by a pseudo-analytic。After about a third of the book it got incredibly dull! The only interesting parts were the actual description of the types and later on the stress-factors aka。 how-to-bring-each-type-to-a-boil part。 That's it。 Really not as good as people told me。Yes, I was able to find out with one of the four behavior-types would be associated to me。 But besides that? There are many books in the business of explaining human behaviour based on different labels。 When it comes to relationships, I think back to "Mannen komen van Mars en vrouwen van Venus", although that book only talks about men vs women。 Yet, it gave me the same feeling of putting very recognizable patterns into clear words。 That, in turn, always gives me more perspective into the experience of other groups。 '"5 love languages" has the same effect for me when it comes to loving others。 "7 habits There are many books in the business of explaining human behaviour based on different labels。 When it comes to relationships, I think back to "Mannen komen van Mars en vrouwen van Venus", although that book only talks about men vs women。 Yet, it gave me the same feeling of putting very recognizable patterns into clear words。 That, in turn, always gives me more perspective into the experience of other groups。 '"5 love languages" has the same effect for me when it comes to loving others。 "7 habits of highly effective people" has a section on "scarcity" or "abundancy bias"。 Growth mindset or not, etc。This book, then, shines when it comes to cooperation on the workfloor。 It's not so much about how you view life, rather more about how you tackle your everyday tasks。 It might be a good idea to state your colour on a job interview to check if the culture of the company and/or the job at hand would be a good fit。 。。。more

the author intended to create a guide for people by dividing them into 4 types that associate in a symbolic way with 4 colors。 With that he explains how they are, how they think and act, and how you can deal with each type。 More work oriented, mentioning in rare times the personal ground。 No doubt a difficult task。 Throughout the book, although the interesting theme and some pertinent observations, I believe it seeks to simplify the complexity of a person, which make them so unique。 and this can the author intended to create a guide for people by dividing them into 4 types that associate in a symbolic way with 4 colors。 With that he explains how they are, how they think and act, and how you can deal with each type。 More work oriented, mentioning in rare times the personal ground。 No doubt a difficult task。 Throughout the book, although the interesting theme and some pertinent observations, I believe it seeks to simplify the complexity of a person, which make them so unique。 and this cannot be summed up。 。。。more

This book is based on the DISC system by William Moulton Marston。 It's basically a simplified Myers Briggs, I would compare it to Hogwarts houses in terms of how stereotypical and generalized these personality types are。 Red = Slytherin, Yellow = Griffindor, Green = Hufflepuff, and Blue = Ravenclaw。Now it does say that this system doesn't work for us neurodivergent people (autism, ADHD, BPD, etc。), buut I am very much a blue。 Or Ravenclaw。 Or INTJ。 Whatever, lol。 It's all pseudoscience。While it This book is based on the DISC system by William Moulton Marston。 It's basically a simplified Myers Briggs, I would compare it to Hogwarts houses in terms of how stereotypical and generalized these personality types are。 Red = Slytherin, Yellow = Griffindor, Green = Hufflepuff, and Blue = Ravenclaw。Now it does say that this system doesn't work for us neurodivergent people (autism, ADHD, BPD, etc。), buut I am very much a blue。 Or Ravenclaw。 Or INTJ。 Whatever, lol。 It's all pseudoscience。While it does say that 80% of people are two colors and only 5% are just one, it still describes people as only one color for most of the entire book。 The author uses many examples of people he knows, and there are also interviews in the back of the book to further the stereotypes。There are some tips and advice on how to handle and communicate with the different types, but nothing really useful, I found。 It's basically just "speak their language, consider their way of thinking and feeling"。 Even me who's autistic knows that, even though it can be hard in practice。The book is a super easy read, I finished it in less than 24 hours。 The language is pretty casual, the text isn't long or dry, it's split up into easily digestible chunks with color codes。 Wouldn't really recommend it though, those who would be interested are the people who take personality quizzes way too seriously, so。。 you do you。 。。。more

It was okay。 A bit biased by talking about their own experiences and generalising it to the public but an interesting foundation into the idea that people can fit into the 4 colours。 But human behaviour is fluid and ever-changing, its hard to know what colour or colours they are at a time。I realised non fiction is not my type of read unfortunately。

Understanding people's communication styles and preferences is key to effectively working/collaborating with them - be it at the workplace or in your personal life。 I think this book was well-detailed, explaining each of the four 'profiles' and how you can share feedback and work with their strengths well。 It is understandable that putting people in 'boxes' may look like we're not open to understanding the nuances of their personality better, and that we're all on a spectrum - but I believe tool Understanding people's communication styles and preferences is key to effectively working/collaborating with them - be it at the workplace or in your personal life。 I think this book was well-detailed, explaining each of the four 'profiles' and how you can share feedback and work with their strengths well。 It is understandable that putting people in 'boxes' may look like we're not open to understanding the nuances of their personality better, and that we're all on a spectrum - but I believe tools such as this book sort of attempts at breaking down the concept of communication。 And no person is a 100% red/blue/green/yellow - that's only around 5% (as the book states)。 80% of people are a blend of two profiles。 This book is quite handy if you're working in a corporate setting or in sales (where you will be meeting clients)。 Clashing personality types can be quite disastrous。 。。。more
