Summary

Bell, Maddie, Noah, and the rest of the gang are back in Book 2 of Animal Rescue Friends—and they’re about to meet a whole new crew of furry pals in need of a little TLC!

It’s the start of a new school year, and the kids are excited about their new club, Oakville Elementary School’s Club for Animal Appreciation, Education, and Rehabilitation—even if their new club advisor, Mrs。 Wen, doesn’t share their enthusiasm。 But as they meet a decidedly unusual crew of animals, including a bearded dragon who won’t eat, a therapy pig named Truffles, and a prickly porcupine who needs first aid, the kids and adults alike learn that when people help animals, the animals help them right back。

I am in no way the target audience for this。 However, it’s still great。 Well crafted, art that reminds me of a Saturday morning cartoon。 Perfect for lending to nieces。

I was excited to receive "Animal Rescue Friends: Friends Fur-Ever!" by Jana Tropper! I read that the author is speech and language pathologist that works with children everyday and the Literacy Director for Reading with Pictures, which is a group that supports comics in education。 She obviously knows what children like and the importance of books in education。 This book is a perfect addition to a school library or for any kid who loves animals。 Now that I have read it, I am going to order more for holiday gifts!! Love it! 。。。more

I received an arc of this book from the author—and absolutely loved it!What an incredible graphic novel! I didn’t read the first volume, but it didn’t stop me at all from picking up this graphic novel and diving right in。 Everyone, but especially middle grade readers, will be enchanted with the large, charming illustrations and clear speech bubbles。 Make sure you take a look at every panel, as the artists have really packed a lot of detail into the backgrounds!Animal Rescue Friends: Friends Fur- I received an arc of this book from the author—and absolutely loved it!What an incredible graphic novel! Our main cast loves animals and their friends, and are quick to admit when they did wrong and apologize。 It’s a great guide for recognizing and processing minor conflict。Kids will love the wide range of animals featured in the graphic novel – they range from cats and dogs to porcupines and my personal favorite, Truffles the therapy pig。 Each issue also gives special attention to how to care and treat these animals, which is perfect for the young readers in your life who inhale animal facts! This is absolutely a series I will share with the middle grade readers in my life, and I can’t wait to see with the creative team does in the next arc! 。。。more

Not only animal fans will enjoy this group's contagious love for creatures and get wrapped up in their adventures。Bell and her friends spend tons of time at the Animal Rescue, helping where they can。 Now, they've decided to start a club at school centered around animals and awareness。 Their new club advisor doesn't share the enthusiasm, since she was forced to head it, but maybe this group can even win her over。This is the second book in the series and can be jumped right into without reading th Not only animal fans will enjoy this group's contagious love for creatures and get wrapped up in their adventures。Bell and her friends spend tons of time at the Animal Rescue, helping where they can。 Now, they've decided to start a club at school centered around animals and awareness。 Their new club advisor doesn't share the enthusiasm, since she was forced to head it, but maybe this group can even win her over。This is the second book in the series and can be jumped right into without reading the first。。。although starting at the beginning does enrich the backstory。 This group is hard not to like right from the get-go。 While there is a bit of friendship disagreement at the beginning, this is nicely solved and already starts everything off on an inspiring and wholesome note。 Even a new, questionable member joins in, taking a wonderful turn and showing how first impressions or rumors might not be quite as spot-on as thought。 Plus, other themes are hit upon during this read ranging from dementia to revenge to going beyond comfort zones and more。 And it is, of course, about animals。Animals are at the center of what this group is about, and this theme is weaved right into the ones mentioned above with finesse。 The reader learns a bit about some animal's habits, various responsibilities animals can have, fears of animals and more, and it does this without ever steering even close to the line of preachiness or as if the information is being taught。 Instead, this tale remembers that it is a story first。 The adventures are interesting and grabbing, and the characters do come across as normal kids。 The situations, while often including animals, remember there is more to life。。。and this aspect makes everything flow well。The illustrations are bright and bold, and balance with the text。 The characters' emotions come across well and the scenes carry just enough details to make them sit。 The animals are easy to recognize and are portrayed as intelligent and sweet。 I received an ARC and found this to be much more grabbing and fun then I thought it would be。 。。。more

This one is GREAT! The drawings are super beautiful, but also the story is great。 I believe most school-aged (middle grade age) kids will enjoy this one。 It has friendships, it has school, and it has animals。 And it goes way below the surface level, this is deeper than a simple graphic novel with cute drawings。

My kids really love The Animal Rescue Friends。 We’ve read them both from the library and on Epic! This book was a good addition to the series。 The illustrations are great and they really love the graphic novel format。 It is a great book with a great lesson learned。

Overall this book is a 10/10 in terms of it being an easy graphic novel that is not only visually appealing but also has a diverse positive message about children interacting with their communities in a valuable way。 The chapters link to one another displaying a narrative that circles the fact that these children all share an interest in ARF, the Animal Rescue Friends while dealing with interpersonal conflicts。 I think that this would be a great addition to anyone's library and I look forward to Overall this book is a 10/10 in terms of it being an easy graphic novel that is not only visually appealing but also has a diverse positive message about children interacting with their communities in a valuable way。 The chapters link to one another displaying a narrative that circles the fact that these children all share an interest in ARF, the Animal Rescue Friends while dealing with interpersonal conflicts。 I think that this would be a great addition to anyone's library and I look forward to seeing more good work from EPIC!I received a free eARC of this book。 Thank you for the opportunity to read it。 。。。more

I recieved a free eARC of this book。 Thank you for the opportunity to read it, A lot of kids love animals。 In this adorable graphic novel, Maddie and Bell, as well as their 5th grade friends and teacher sponsor, start an Animal Rescue friends club, focused on the care of exotic animals。 This is a fun, cute, relatable book which will appeal to animal lovers。 The graphic novel format will support struggling readers, but give them the longer format and content that is age appropriate as well。 This I recieved a free eARC of this book。 Thank you for the opportunity to read it, A lot of kids love animals。 In this adorable graphic novel, Maddie and Bell, as well as their 5th grade friends and teacher sponsor, start an Animal Rescue friends club, focused on the care of exotic animals。 This is a fun, cute, relatable book which will appeal to animal lovers。 The graphic novel format will support struggling readers, but give them the longer format and content that is age appropriate as well。 This book is a perfect addition to school and classroom libraries, and is likely to be quite beloved by many children。 。。。more

When the first chunk of these quickly-read kids comics were taken from online and given their own volume I found it a downright success – easy morals, lightly delivered, and very dramatic little situations for kids and critters at an animal rescue and volunteer centre。 This season two has a different talent list, but hit the ground nicely with a well-wrought drama。 Someone is really catty when not allowed to have her own way, but the animal processing at the centre actually proves too cooperativ When the first chunk of these quickly-read kids comics were taken from online and given their own volume I found it a downright success – easy morals, lightly delivered, and very dramatic little situations for kids and critters at an animal rescue and volunteer centre。 This season two has a different talent list, but hit the ground nicely with a well-wrought drama。 Someone is really catty when not allowed to have her own way, but the animal processing at the centre actually proves too cooperative for the animosity to remain, and we see selfishness and burnout as topics to think and talk about later。But the change in personnel behind this do seem to have made a difference on the page, for this is a lot more heavily-presented。 The moral is just too obvious。 And that thread continues – the third piece, concerning the benefits of therapy animals in old folks’ homes, both thumps you round the head and has a child talking about rabbit body language in the vocal style of no child ever。 So it’s almost a relief when we turn to more moral-free narratives, geared towards the entertainment allowed by all the kids and beasties and not the lesson。 There’s even a double-parter here, with cliff-hanger in between, about the school club parade, and a shorter, almost throwaway little piece to close, that actually reverts to what this used to be。 For in showing us a little bit of prejudice and preconceived ideas, and never labouring it, we’re the closest yet to Book One’s style。There is though a lesson to be had about inappropriate revenge, and a very woke “the animals will tell us what they’re happy with” approach that’s a bit icky。 That said, even when it loses all subtlety it is not dreadful with it, and for the under-tens is still an engaging read。 I do think the storylines last time round showed they could have an educational purpose yet still a nuance pretty much missing here, but if the right balance can be achieved these are still sterling works, for all the bold colours and obviousness they have。 The target audience will only be wanting more – or, to find their own local pet shelter to chip in with。 。。。more

I love this group of kids! Back in a new graphic novel, we follow Bell, Maddie, Noah and the rest of the gang as they roll into a whole new adventure。 They form a new club, along with some other kids for school。 The animals that they learn about are more than just your run of the mill cat and dog。 There are lessons to be learned, but in a fun way, while the graphic illustrations are easy to see with a good font and an easy-to-follow story line。 This will help young readers looking to move into a I love this group of kids!
