Summary

Once Upon A Time,
there was a king who passed。
He left behind two sons,
one beloved and one outcast。
The older of the two was set to take the throne,
but before he could he had to find a queen to call his own。
The younger one was known to be unruly and unhinged。
The chosen queen was warned to keep far away from him。
Beautiful and cunning, in the light is where she stayed。
But late at night, it was the shadowed lands in which she played。
Mistakes were made and secrets forged;
forgetting duty and her sense。
And while the new king had her hand,
her heart belonged to the scarred prince。

Scarred is a DARK Royal Romance。 It is not a retelling or fantasy。 It contains subject matter which may be triggering for some。 Reader discretion is advised。

I loved this book。 I could not put it down。 I haven’t had a 5 star in awhile。 I thought it had a perfect ending。 The visuals for the book really felt I was there experiencing it。 I was not a fan of hooked。。 3 stars。。 but this was beautiful。

I’m feeling generous… was this good? Not really, no。 Did I enjoy it? Yes, very much… villains? violence? sex? torture? burning down a kingdom? revolution? It was made for me“You could burn down the entire kingdom until it’s nothing but charred rubble, and I would crawl over the embers with glee, so long as I could worship at your feet。” LIKE how can I not be obsessed

I LOVE this book。 It's a lion king retelling。 One thing I think people fail to realize with books like these is, you can hate the characters all day long and not agree with them, and STILL like the book。 You don't have to agree with, or even like the main characters。 But, also, if you don't like morally grey characters with god complexes that will literally kill for you, what are you doing here? It is not meant for the faint of heart or anyone that wants a healthy romance。 It is depraved, dark, I LOVE this book。 It's a lion king retelling。 One thing I think people fail to realize with books like these is, you can hate the characters all day long and not agree with them, and STILL like the book。 You don't have to agree with, or even like the main characters。 But, also, if you don't like morally grey characters with god complexes that will literally kill for you, what are you doing here? It's usually the innocent girl and the demented man。 This was a breath of fresh air。 She did a great job sprinkling in things related to the Lion King。 It was like finding little easter eggs throughout the book。 I love that the author has a detailed list of triggers for anyone that needs it, even though she prefers people to go in blind。 Hello, Collen Hoover, maybe we could get on this too? The epilogue was beautiful。 I loved how it wrapped everything up and really felt like we got the ending that they all deserved。 。。。more

(I get she had family involvement but still there’s no storyline for it), the reader doesn’t get to see conversations on how they character plan to take the throne, it just really makes no sense to me。 。。。more

It was slow starting, but once I made it about halfway through the political intrigue, the spice, and the character development cranked up to 11。 Tristan and Sara became much more interesting, fleshed out characters once they were together。 My biggest gripes were about how slow it was to start, and how annoying some of th side characters were (like Xander)。

When I first read that this book is a Lion King retelling, I was a little concerned。 I LOVED Hooked by Emily, but I was a little worried how this one would play out。 Holy。 Shitting。 Balls。 This book made me *feel* things towards Tristan, aka Scar from the original story。 I may or may not have a huge crush on him now 🤣 This book was spicy, dark, thrilling, everything you want in a book! A steamy and thrilling Lion King retelling! Loved the storytelling in this one! I was instantly hooked!!! I adore morally grey characters and this certainly didn’t disappoint! Can’t wait to read more from this author!

I started on the fence。。。But I ended happy I finished。I wasn't a lion King kid, too old when it came out and annoyed by the obsession the kid I babysat had for it。However, Scarred is the Lion King we all need。 I love the characters, the way she interprets them from beast to men is amazing。 It's storytelling in its finest。 I do wish the books weren't one offs, I want more of these characters, but honestly can't wait to start the next one。 I started on the fence。。。But I ended happy I finished。I wasn't a lion King kid, too old when it came out and annoyed by the obsession the kid I babysat had for it。However, Scarred is the Lion King we all need。 I love the characters, the way she interprets them from beast to men is amazing。 It's storytelling in its finest。 I do wish the books weren't one offs, I want more of these characters, but honestly can't wait to start the next one。 。。。more

The twist and turns of the people that she thought were suppose to be close to her were crazy! He was the cutest!! His mother what a dreadful space of air。 Happy to be rid of her。 Thank you for a wonderful retelling and great story。 You surprise me time and time again。 Can't wait to read book 3 。。。more

We’re in hell。”-“Oh my god,” she cries out, her body vibrating。 Is it possible to be jealous of God? Because when His name leaves her lips, I want to slit my wrists and fly up to his kingdom, just to burn it to the ground。-Panting and spent, I collapse on top of her back, leaving lazy kisses along her spine, and knowing, without a doubt, that she’s the only thing that’s ever mattered, and the only thing that ever will。-Her sorrow is now my sorrow。 Her pain is now my pain。--“You thirst for power?” he rasps, his palm ghosting across my collarbone before wrapping around my throat。 “I can fill you with it until you scream。”-“The truth is, I am yours。 Wholly。 Inexplicably。 Painfully。-“Tell me you’re mine, ma petite menteuse。 That no other man has had you。”-Sara Beatreaux is not my problem。 Normally, I wouldn’t care。 I shouldn’t care。 But I do。 。。。more

Not to mention he is the pure embodiment of “I’ll burn the world down for you”。 Chefs kiss right?!? Also, if you’re like me and enjoy an strong female mc Sara is your gal! This book is a hella big slow burn but it’s not totally unbearable to where i felt like i was dying you know? I also enjoyed a lot of the side characters that were in this book。 Many times in books some side characters just get shoved off to the side and it’s just ehh。 But Paul, Timothy, Sheina and SIMON oh my gosh SIMON has my freaking heart guys! The epilogue in this book was also one of my favorites。 It’s not your typical marriage and babies but still just as amazing and goosebumps worthy。 It really ended the way that it needed to tbh! I’m rating this a 4。75 because honestly there could of been a little bit more of an emotional connection between the two main characters all throughout the story。 Yes, there was tension but not so much emotional。 There’s other reasons but it’ll give too much away I type it here so if you read it, you’ll be able to figure that out for yourselves! Did i mention Tristan can bring you to your knees? Yes no? We’ll just wait and see cause he gives bad boy daddy king vibes 😍 。。。more
