This was much better than the first volume。 The characters get some nice development。 I did not like the arc with the twins though。 It felt really excessive。18+

This series has some very interesting villains。 Those twins we met at the end。。。 wow。 Far out。I liked Revy and Rock's fight, that was the best part of this book I think。 Revy and Dutch had a nice little altercation as well。I want to hear more from the the IT guy, is Benny his name? Not sure if I'll keep reading, maybe。 This series has some very interesting villains。 Those twins we met at the end。。。 wow。 Far out。I liked Revy and Rock's fight, that was the best part of this book I think。 Revy and Dutch had a nice little altercation as well。I want to hear more from the the IT guy, is Benny his name? Not sure if I'll keep reading, maybe。 。。。more

Fun fact I did read the first volume and it was one of the first manga I got when I went to New York Comic Con。 Finding this volume during San Diego’s virtual comic con this year was a delightful treat。 Also helpful is that I recently finished the anime and this has some of the parts I remember watching。 Though I know the manga has gone on longer than the anime, a part of me is considering getting the rest of the volumes as well。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 This volume was much better then the first volume。 I just liked it way more。 The chapter with Revy and Rock arguing was super hot lol, but it was good overall。 Oh and the twins are disgustingly gruesome and I don’t know how to feel about that。 Like the content and concept is cool but they’re so messed up it’s insane to me。 The only thing I had a hard time struggling with was all the German and other languages in the book, there weren’t any translations and I wish there were to know what they wer This volume was much better then the first volume。 I just liked it way more。 The chapter with Revy and Rock arguing was super hot lol, but it was good overall。 Oh and the twins are disgustingly gruesome and I don’t know how to feel about that。 Like the content and concept is cool but they’re so messed up it’s insane to me。 The only thing I had a hard time struggling with was all the German and other languages in the book, there weren’t any translations and I wish there were to know what they were saying even if they were going to die and it wasn’t important。 。。。more

I don’t know why I’m not able to enjoy this。 I think this volume drives it closer to home。 Revy is a hairsbreadth away from being a sociopath with no code at all。 I don’t think you need em`。 Rock is like my mirror to society (we are way too fucking alike)…I liked this volume better than the first one。 It’s a little bland with the inclusion of Nazis。 I suppose it was a clever use of metaphor for Revy’s character in that particular scenario。 I still have not tried the anime just glimpsed at some I don’t know why I’m not able to enjoy this。 I think this volume drives it closer to home。 Revy is a hairsbreadth away from being a sociopath with no code at all。 I don’t think you need em`。 Rock is like my mirror to society (we are way too fucking alike)…I liked this volume better than the first one。 It’s a little bland with the inclusion of Nazis。 I suppose it was a clever use of metaphor for Revy’s character in that particular scenario。 I still have not tried the anime just glimpsed at some AMVs which look pretty entertaining。 For me I think that’s my next step。 As far as the drawings go, I don’t think you could do any better。 The action is a little hard to follow。 There’s something to be said about the size of these volumes。 I believe the larger format makes it a bit more enjoyable with larger panels and dialogue that’s easier to use。 I doubt that it’s cost effective though。 Volume 2 for Black Lagoon is better than the first volume。 I’m still straddling the line。 It looks like there are only ten volumes so it’s not a major investment; however I am going to bite the bullet on the manga and see what the anime has to offer。 。。。more

I own every Volume in the series, well every issue that has been translated into English that is。 Black Lagoon, is awesome。 It's just good。 It's like taking every bad cheap cheesy action movie cliche, than giving them a decent and well though out story。 Black Lagoon makes bad action movies good。 That's amazing in of itself。 It's also one of the few things that has powerful female characters, that never lose that, real powerful female characters is something that practically everything is missing I own every Volume in the series, well every issue that has been translated into English that is。 Black Lagoon, is awesome。 It's just good。 It's like taking every bad cheap cheesy action movie cliche, than giving them a decent and well though out story。 Black Lagoon makes bad action movies good。 That's amazing in of itself。 It's also one of the few things that has powerful female characters, that never lose that, real powerful female characters is something that practically everything is missing anymore。 Black Lagoon has those。 This series is amazing, period。 That's how good Black Lagoon is。 This is intended for mature audiences and not because of the death, and very brief nudity, but because Black Lagoon deals with adult concepts, about life。 It's really hard to explain without reading it, which I think anyone who likes action and drama should。 please read this。 。。。more

Very violent and harsh story, but it's not the whole point of this book。 It has something to say and has a good plot but for me this was just too horrible, can't read anymore。 Very violent and harsh story, but it's not the whole point of this book。 It has something to say and has a good plot but for me this was just too horrible, can't read anymore。 。。。more

Neo-nazis, the first half of a story arc involving killer vampire incest twins rampaging through Roanapur, and a somewhat tedious argument between Revy and Rock about how much life sucks and how one couldn't possibly understand how the other feels。It's obvious from the first couple of pages in the first volume that Revy's a headcase with an itchy trigger finger。 This volume dives (pardon the pun) a bit deeper into her emotional problems in the first arc of the volume where she and Rock swim down Neo-nazis, the first half of a story arc involving killer vampire incest twins rampaging through Roanapur, and a somewhat tedious argument between Revy and Rock about how much life sucks and how one couldn't possibly understand how the other feels。It's obvious from the first couple of pages in the first volume that Revy's a headcase with an itchy trigger finger。 This volume dives (pardon the pun) a bit deeper into her emotional problems in the first arc of the volume where she and Rock swim down to a sunken Nazi submarine to salvage a rare painting。 Since nothing in life is gained without some kind of pain-in-the-ass problem, the Black Lagoon crew quickly find themselves outnumbered and outgunned by an army of crazy Neo-Nazis--who are also after the painting。 Rock tries to bring some sense of morality to the situation when Revy starts picking the corpses that died long ago of their treasures and trinkets--old medals, iron crosses, etc。; and Revy begins to show a different--much darker--side to her personality where she reveals just how nihilistic her view of the world really is。 This scene is a precursor to a later sequence in the middle of the volume where Rock and Revy's tempers flare in a market, and both of them start arguing about how "you can't solve your problems with a gun" and "what do you know about my life, etc。"。 I get that author Rei Hiroe is trying to further develop his characters, but it almost comes off as forced。 To me, anyway, what's supposed to be a highly emotional and tense way for the two polar opposites to finally come to terms with each other ends up seeming like some sort of pity party。 Both characters are, in a way, in the wrong, and neither can be fully blamed, considering their vastly different backgrounds。 An argument like this was bound to happen sooner or later, but for me, it was tedious to read through。Aside from that, the rest of the volume was enjoyable。 The artwork (which was fantastic to begin with) has since improved, and the arc with the twins comes off to a good start (ending on a decent cliffhanger to prepare us for the other half in Volume 3)。 Cheesy arguments aside, my favourite part of this volume was the Lagoon Company's retaliation assault on the Neo-Nazi's ship, bound to conclude their supposed 'victory party' with a literal bang。 。。。more

It is one Manga that I would recommend to anyone especially if they are into the Anime as well。 As for what I think the action is very fast paced, Art of the book is very well done its crisp and detailed something that I could picture seeing as a live action。As for the story, I will admit it started out slightly bland at first but as I read further into it I started to get interested。Synopsis: The lagoon traders are contracted by a mysterious client, for a retrieval job ( a painting ) on a long It is one Manga that I would recommend to anyone especially if they are into the Anime as well。 As for what I think the action is very fast paced, Art of the book is very well done its crisp and detailed something that I could picture seeing as a live action。As for the story, I will admit it started out slightly bland at first but as I read further into it I started to get interested。Synopsis: The lagoon traders are contracted by a mysterious client, for a retrieval job ( a painting ) on a long forgotten German U boat。 while retrieving the painting, Revy and Rock have a very interesting conversation about how life generally sucks, which also sag-ways into a bit ,more about Revy’s past。while they are talking and gathering not only the painting but some Nazi memorabilia as well, some Neo-Nazi’s who were also hired by a mysterious client come looking for the painting as well basically to re-kindle their Aryan cause, which ended in a shoot out between the Lagoon Traders as they tried to swipe the painting off of them in the U boat at the bottom of the ocean。Which the Lagoon Traders ultimately ended up loosing the painting to the Neo-Nazi’s, later the Lagoon Traders sneak onto the skin heads boat to retrieve the painting off them, by killing everyone on board their ship, and as they did so they end up finding out that the Mysterious client that hired them for the retrieval job, had also hired the skin heads as well。After the retrieval job Revy and Rock get sent on another assignment, visiting people, picking up somethings, start some fights。。 mostly verble。Anyway as they continue their errands, they eventually end up visiting the HQ of Hotel Moscow, where Balalaika (the leader of Hotel Moscow), asks the Lagoon Traders as she is going over some”Erotic tapes” to go in her place and she asks them while going over some “erotic tapes” to go in her place and find out what they know about some unusual drug trafficking, which in turn leads them to the Rip Off Church where they manage to link the drug trafficking to the church, by black mailing them into getting what they want and needed out of them(for instants:”Guns。。”)。Then in the last part of the book。Their is a big problem in Roanapur, people in each of the mob faction’s are dropping like files, and Balalaika is getting really pissed off since two of her men turned up dead and mutilated, she issues a bounty on the ones responsible。 Only to discover that it was two little Romanian kids by the name of Hansel and Gretel that were responsible and they were contracted to kill her。 。。。more

Revy has serious issues。 Rock grows a pair。 Neo-nazis get the crap kicked out of them。 Creepy twins are creepy。 Pretty much feel the same way about this as the first volume。 The manga and the anime are probably the most similar adaptation I have ever seen。 And if I hadn't seen the anime first, which I prefer, I'd probably be more likely to give this four stars。 Revy has serious issues。 Rock grows a pair。 Neo-nazis get the crap kicked out of them。 Creepy twins are creepy。 Pretty much feel the same way about this as the first volume。 The manga and the anime are probably the most similar adaptation I have ever seen。 And if I hadn't seen the anime first, which I prefer, I'd probably be more likely to give this four stars。 。。。more

The adventures of the Black Lagoon crew continue as they have to deal with Neonazis and then some very twisted twin killers in two separate tales in this volume。 Revy's temper is proving that it can be a liability at times, but there is no denying her skill as a gunslinger。 Rock is starting to settle in as the new member of the Black Lagoon crew。 But I think the highlight of this volume is the coming of the twins。 There is a blend of bloody and violent with a bit of disturbing。 In a way, they re The adventures of the Black Lagoon crew continue as they have to deal with Neonazis and then some very twisted twin killers in two separate tales in this volume。 Revy's temper is proving that it can be a liability at times, but there is no denying her skill as a gunslinger。 Rock is starting to settle in as the new member of the Black Lagoon crew。 But I think the highlight of this volume is the coming of the twins。 There is a blend of bloody and violent with a bit of disturbing。 In a way, they reminded me a bit of Mr。 Kidd and Mr。 Wint, the two assassins from the Bond movie Diamonds are Forever given their good manners towards each other。 But underneath the charm, they are quite deadly。 This is definitely a volume to read, and you will want to continue on to the next one。 I know I will。 。。。more

3。5 stars。 Not for the faint of heart or easily offended。 Levi is unapologetic, rude and badass and her favorite past time is killing people。 Though I like the contrast between her and Rock。 I didn't like the Nazi story and the twins one was just way too creepy。 My favorite part of this manga was Levi and Rock running errands for Dutch, definitely。 3。5 stars。 Not for the faint of heart or easily offended。 Levi is unapologetic, rude and badass and her favorite past time is killing people。 Though I like the contrast between her and Rock。 I didn't like the Nazi story and the twins one was just way too creepy。 My favorite part of this manga was Levi and Rock running errands for Dutch, definitely。 。。。more
