not me quickly rereading the novella before I read Stellarlune!!!

The ending of this masterpiece is literally my villain origin story。

LOVE the Sokeefe images we get。 Kinda concerned how much the registry pendants know about each child, but…… ok。

I loved all the info in the first part of the book。 Especially Sophie's healing center info and Keefe's detention info。 Loved seeing color pictures and recipes。 And the novella was great too, though not a huge fan of the stupid, reckless decicion making going on。 I loved all the info in the first part of the book。 Especially Sophie's healing center info and Keefe's detention info。 Loved seeing color pictures and recipes。 And the novella was great too, though not a huge fan of the stupid, reckless decicion making going on。 。。。more

I'm kinda sad that their wasn't more of it because I absolutely loved having Keefe's POV and Sophie's POV 。 It was just a really cool idea。 And I know that other authors write from multiple POVs。 But it was so different for this series and I loved that。 It was also really well written。 And since this review is starting to get longer than I anticipated, I'm going to end it, but not without the wonderful quotes by Keefe:"A beautiful voice。Keefe's favorite voice--even when it was all squeaky with worry。" (This is from Keefe's POV。 I literally love how in love he is with Sophie, and I'm glad we got to see that by getting to see what his thoughts are like)"She really was the cutest worrier ever。" (This is also from Keefe's POV。 It one of his thoughts just like the quote above)"You're cute when you try to be optimistic, Foster。" (I seriously love whenever he calls her Foster。 Also they are having a telepathic conversation or whatever its called where Sophie reaches out and connects their thoughts。 I'm honestly forgetting how it works)Keefe left Sophie this letter before he ran away。 This isn't all of it because I wasn't typing all of that out, so I included the bit I like most。 This seriously made me cry:"And since this is the last time I'll ever talk to you, I just。。。 I want to say that I'm really going to miss you。 You mean a lot to me, Foster。 More than you'll ever know。Please be careful。 Please be happy。 And PLEASE forget all about me。It'll be better for everyone that way。 You'll see。Love,Keefe"I panicked in the middle of writing this because I accidentally turned off my laptop, and I though I was going to lose all my progress on the review。 Luckily I didn't。 :) 。。。more

Do I feel bad about reading this many books? No。 Am I too old? Never

This was a great book that was put together to give a quit summary of each main character, some fun extras like Keefe's student incident files, sketches of some of the food, art of the characters and bodyguards, a couple of recipes, plus more。。。。 along with a novella that takes place right after book 8。 I will definitely use this to refer back to for many things over the next (however many) books。 This was a great book that was put together to give a quit summary of each main character, some fun extras like Keefe's student incident files, sketches of some of the food, art of the characters and bodyguards, a couple of recipes, plus more。。。。 along with a novella that takes place right after book 8。 I will definitely use this to refer back to for many things over the next (however many) books。 。。。more

why did i read this? uh…。completionism? - only had meaning in the last ~200 pages- recycled plot- immature writing (ig i’ve grown out of the target audience?)- can this series end pls

I’ll give this book a solid 3 1/2 stars。 The first half of this book was actually very helpful for me because It had been a while since I had read the previous book。 The second half of this book is the actual novella and it is from two points of view。 I couldn’t possibly imagine continuing the series without reading this Novela, some pretty big things happen here。 Definitely worth the read。

Overall, I wished there were more illustrations hahaha! Love how there are revelations in the novella。 Very nice! Hehehe。 Can’t wait for Book 9! I love this series so much。 This will always have a special place in my fragile heart 🥺🥰 Just gonna dump my thoughts and feelings here:It’s been a really long while since I’ve last read Book 8 Legacy。 And so far reading Unlocked made me remember some stuff。 PERO OMG KI 5 stars ⭐️!!!! Because we finally see Keefe’s pov about Sophie!!! Yiiiiieeeeeeeeee!!! Overall, I wished there were more illustrations hahaha! Love how there are revelations in the novella。 Very nice! Hehehe。 Can’t wait for Book 9! I love this series so much。 This will always have a special place in my fragile heart 🥺🥰 Just gonna dump my thoughts and feelings here:It’s been a really long while since I’ve last read Book 8 Legacy。 And so far reading Unlocked made me remember some stuff。 PERO OMG KILIG AKO KASI CONFIRMED!!!!! KEEFE LIKES SOPHIE!!!! YIIIIEEEEEEEEE 🥰 AND HE’S SO SWEET OMG HUHU Kaso shet talaga。 Mukhang obvious naman din kasi na Sophie will choose Fitz eh。 Huhuhuhu!!! The first half of the book was nice naman。 It’s perfect for avid Keeper fans。 Of course I wished there were more illustrations ehehhehehe “Maybe they did。 But the Council’s “best” didn’t seem to be good enough anymore—assuming it ever had been。 And Sophie was tempted to remind Oralie that no one had asked the elves to put themselves in charge。”Ooooof! Lowkey wished Sophie said that out loud。 “Forgotten Secrets aren’t erased simply to protect the sanity of the Councillors。 They’re often truths that could send our world spiraling into chaos。”-OralieWhy not face the truth then? Eme Sooooo all this time, Kenric knew Oralie is Sophie’s mom 😱 and the reason why Oralie couldn’t resign with Kenric is because she had to stay as a Councilor to protect Sophie? 😱 And then Kenric decided to stay in the council so Oralie can have as many allies 🥺 “the only thing he could think about after his vision came into focus was “Where’s Sophie? Is she okay?”Keefe。 Yiiiieeeeeeee 🥰 “But accepting help doesn’t make you weak。 It just means you’re taking care of yourself。”Fitz to Keefe。 Wuw nemen。 “Keefe’s gaze shifted to where she (Sophie) stood in the doorway, looking wary and worried and…Absolutely perfect。”I’m going to cry 😭😭😭 this is my happiness 🥰🥰🥰Soooo Keefe has a new ability that no one knows omgggg ano kaya ito。 “So here’s the deal。 I’m going to give you to the count of five to say something—and if you don’t, I’ll start talking。 And I think we both know which of your secrets I’m going to share first。”Keefe’s eyes narrowed。”Ro to Keefe。 HAHHAHAHAHHA RO!!! Awwww Keefe will be training with 3 councilors at Elwin’s place。 And Alina suggested Sophie to stay away muna。 And Keefe was so tired。 He agreed nalang 😢 “She’d raised her home crystal to the light and disappeared as soon as Keefe had agreed to Alina’s condition—without even saying goodbye。Keefe couldn’t blame her。He closed his eyes, forcing himself to remember the look on her face—the hurt and betrayal and sadness and anger。”Awwwww tampo yarn si Sophie “Because if Fitz couldn’t figure that out on his own, he didn’t deserve Foster。Then again, neither did he。”Keefe。 Ayshush nemen“But she (Sophie) dared a quick look at his (Fitz) face and found him focused right on her。And when their eyes met?Man, she’d missed having him smile at her。”Eugh。 Di ko talaga bet silaaaaaa 😒 “I don’t know。 It just felt like you didn’t want to be my friend anymore。”Sophie to Keefe。 Huhu friend lang ba talaga tingin ni Sophie kay Keefe? 😢 “Ro shifted her voice up an octave and clasped her hands against her heart—“ ‘Oh, Hunkyhair, I never realized you felt that way, even though it was ridiculously obvious to everyone else。 And I’ve been in love with you forever—I just didn’t know it because I’m super oblivious。 I’m sorry I wasted so much time crushing on Captain Perfect—come here, let’s do all the smooching ever!”AHHAHAHHAHAHHAAH RO!!!! But waittttt, was Keefe really obvious? I thought the entire time he was just really good at hiding it? And does Ro really think Sophie likes Keefe that way like more than friends? Huhuhuhu aaahhhhh! Pero tingin ko talaga, Sophie just sees Keefe as her bestie eh huhuhu!!! “He (Keefe) tried not to let that “we” sting, but of course his brain had to remind him that she was talking about Fitzphie time。But that was good。 Fitz had botched things majorly, but he definitely still cared。 So hopefully he’d get his act together and figure out how to be the kind of boyfriend that Foster deserved。He had a way better chance of pulling that off than Keefe ever would。”Boo 😒 “Get some rest, Foster。I will if you will。Keefe smiled。 Deal。”🥺🥺🥺 “My sister’s a fan of silver bangs。”“Really, Fitz?” Biana snapped。 “You want to talk about crushes? Because you…”Huh???? Wait a minute??? I thought Biana liked Dex 🧐 “Our world was supposed to be safe and happy and perfect, like it was for our parents。 But it’s not—and it turns out it wasn’t like that for them, either。 They just didn’t let themselves see the problems。 So now we’re stuck figuring out how to fix this giant mess—while fighting against people who’ve been planning this stuff for longer than we’ve been alive。 So of course they keep beating us。 Of course we don’t feel powerful enough。 We aren’t!”Biana spittin’ facts 🔥 “we don’t always do everything perfectly, and it can feel like we’re not strong enough。 But that doesn’t mean we aren’t powerful and awesome and amazing。 We’re doing our best。 We just need to keep fighting。 And we should probably stop listening to what everyone’s telling us and try finding our own way。”BIANA IS ON FIRE 🔥 Preach ghorl “Both groups exist because of a lot of the same problems。 They just have very different solutions。”Tama ka dyan, Sophie Foster “She knew they were only trying to keep her safe—but she was really getting sick of having everyone question her and doubt her all the time and try to hold her back。She was the moonlark。 Or… was she just getting more desperate and reckless?”Lavarn, Sophie。 Soooo Keefe can sense a child’s ability thru physical contact? Whoaaa。 He did with Bex and Lex。 And he sensed Rex is gonna be talentless like the triplet’s dad。 Aww。 Okay, I’m relieved that Glimmer didn’t do anything traitorous when she led them to the Neverseen’s storehouse。 But I’m kinda not okay with Sophie burning Gisella’s Archetype。 She could have brought that with her and then burned the rest。 Since obviously, the Archetype has lotsa info。 Haiyah。 Cute how Keefe and Dex are teary eyed after figuring that Rex is talentless。 Because they both need to keep it a secret until Rex is older。 Huhu。 Omgggg Keefe commanded Ro to sleep and she did。 And then woke her up。 And then escaped and left Elwin’s place。 Yikes。 He is so dead。 “But you must never let yourself forget that winning won’t matter if you sink fully to the Neverseen’s level。 There’s a way to be bold and brave and stand up to your enemies without forgetting that actions have consequences。”I love Mr。 Forkle huhu“Was she supposed to say “thanks”?Be grateful he’d dumped this impossible responsibility on her shoulders?Maybe。”Hahhahahhha sophie 😅Soooo everyone kinda got 50/50 after Sophie told them about what she did sa storehouse。 Gets ko naman both sides。 Ang side nung iba is that she acted on her own。 That she didn’t consider to communicate muna。 Tapos ang side naman ni Sophie is wala na time to think and paalam。 Kailangan burak na。 Kasi she’s tired na of always losing。 Si Mr。 Forkle naman explained na kailangan mag communicate and win in the right way。 So ayern。 “Some spots even merged into a soft teal tone, which made Keefe want to roll his eyes and grumble about Fitzphie。But Foster would love it。And honestly, he hoped Fitz would step up and become whoever and whatever she needed him to be。She deserved that。She deserved to be happy。”Ayshush nemen Keefe。 “You look fabulous,” he assured Iggy。 “I’m definitely going to win the prize for Best Imp Stylist。”Keefe🤣🤣🤣 “And… honestly… as much as I don’t understand your friendship… she does listen to you sometimes。 And rely on you。 And… I think she’s going to need you for this next part。”Grady to Keefe。 👀Awwww so Keefe left Sophie a goodbye letter。 For now, Keefe will hide from everyone muna。 Honestly don’t know why。 But he says it’s best for everyone。 Huhuhu!! Excited na ko sa next book!! 。。。more

Half of this book is a review of all things know。 Second half just continues on from the last book but slightly changes format。 Now it switches back and forth from Keefe and Sophie's perspective。 Half of this book is a review of all things know。 Second half just continues on from the last book but slightly changes format。 Now it switches back and forth from Keefe and Sophie's perspective。 。。。more

This book was mostly extra "behind the world and characters" type of content。 Which was interesting to see how thoroughly Messenger has thought out her magical world。 Great for recapping the previous books, but it did drag on though and I almost just skipped to the novella at the end。 The novella IS needed to continue the story from book 8 and into book 9。 I really enjoyed the novella, especially because we get to see Keefe's perspective in a crucial moment of events。 I'm ready for more once boo This book was mostly extra "behind the world and characters" type of content。 Which was interesting to see how thoroughly Messenger has thought out her magical world。 Great for recapping the previous books, but it did drag on though and I almost just skipped to the novella at the end。 The novella IS needed to continue the story from book 8 and into book 9。 I really enjoyed the novella, especially because we get to see Keefe's perspective in a crucial moment of events。 I'm ready for more once book 9 is officially out! 。。。more

Keeper of the Lost Cities; Unlocked, written by Shannon Messenger, was mainly a behind-the-scenes guide to the other Lost Cities books where you learn about the characters, Foxfire, locations, and other various information。 However, there is also a decently lengthy novella towards the end of the book。 The novella's plot describes Sophie and her friends on their adventure to the main villains' hideout and taking charge of the battle to leave the enemy frantic and scrambling。 While Sophie and her Keeper of the Lost Cities; Unlocked, written by Shannon Messenger, was mainly a behind-the-scenes guide to the other Lost Cities books where you learn about the characters, Foxfire, locations, and other various information。 However, there is also a decently lengthy novella towards the end of the book。 The novella's plot describes Sophie and her friends on their adventure to the main villains' hideout and taking charge of the battle to leave the enemy frantic and scrambling。 While Sophie and her friends are fighting against the villains, Keefe is struggling with his own problems。 This book switches between Sophie and Keefe's perspectives to see both characters and their battles, both literal and figurative。 A key story element in this book is character。 As we continue reading the novella, we get to see a darker side of Sohpie, a part of her that is not afraid to take a stand and take charge。 I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good action and adventure story with hints of romance。 。。。more
