This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 Honestly, as we adapt to living with covid it certainly bought up emotions around the aniexty and loss of control we all had in lockdowns。 The other side is, I have experienced a similar trauma experience that is written, and it’s nice to see the unexplainable written by one of my favourite authors in a way that explained it perfectly。
Jackie O,
I can’t even begin to explain this book。 At first I thought oh it’s about covid I hate it 2 stars then halfway through I was at 4/5 stars。 I gave it 3 because to be honest I’m not sure how I felt about this book, I couldn’t put it down, it was the weirdest but best book I’ve read in a while。I recommend reading it but the whole book is based on covid and for me i did find it hard, just going back through how we all felt about covid and being isolated it’s a real weird book but I did love it。Not s I can’t even begin to explain this book。 At first I thought oh it’s about covid I hate it 2 stars then halfway through I was at 4/5 stars。 I gave it 3 because to be honest I’m not sure how I felt about this book, I couldn’t put it down, it was the weirdest but best book I’ve read in a while。I recommend reading it but the whole book is based on covid and for me i did find it hard, just going back through how we all felt about covid and being isolated it’s a real weird book but I did love it。Not sure about the ending, I was hoping it would turn out differently but in a way I know it had to end that way! 。。。more
Lauren Mellor,
Not sure I fully appreciated this was about the pandemic so I found those parts a bit unsettling initially。 But then I got into it more and found a fairly good read。 I didn’t expect the story to go where it did which was actually quite nice and changed my thoughts of the main character - really wasn’t a fan of her at the beginning。 Not a favourite but still enjoyed it all in all。
Rhiannon Williams,
I'm giving this 5 stars because it's the first book I've read in ages which totally absorbed me and which I read for ages at a stretch without getting distracted or looking at the time。Is it a good book? I don't know。 There were a few bits that made me cringe and I don't think it was as thought provoking as many of JP's other books。 But I've always enjoyed her writing and I thoroughly enjoyed just getting stuck right in。 I'm giving this 5 stars because it's the first book I've read in ages which totally absorbed me and which I read for ages at a stretch without getting distracted or looking at the time。Is it a good book?
