I’m surprised with how good this book was。 It was quite different from the movie but in a good way。 Enola ventures out into the world after her mother goes missing。 She gets herself into a few scrapes along the way but she figures herself out pretty quickly。 I’ll be curious to see where the rest of the series goes。

Great first book in the Enola Holmes series。 Written for younger readers, but I enjoyed it as an adult。 Enola is Sherlock Holmes’ younger sister。 In this book, Enola is basically abandoned by her mother and makes her way alone to London to try to find her, while also trying to outwit her brothers, Sherlock and Mycroft, who are determined to send her to finishing school。 On her hunt for her mother, Enola is also distracted by the strange disappearance of a young Marquess and becomes entangled wit Great first book in the Enola Holmes series。 Written for younger readers, but I enjoyed it as an adult。 Enola is Sherlock Holmes’ younger sister。 In this book, Enola is basically abandoned by her mother and makes her way alone to London to try to find her, while also trying to outwit her brothers, Sherlock and Mycroft, who are determined to send her to finishing school。 On her hunt for her mother, Enola is also distracted by the strange disappearance of a young Marquess and becomes entangled with his captors。 These are great, short mysteries, and the movie version on Netflix is great。 。。。more

This is a cute fast read。 If these had come out when I was younger I could easily see myself becoming obsessed with these novels。 If you or your child liked a series of unfortunate events or Nancy drew series I can see you liking these。 They’re nothing ground breaking but it’s nice to read something light every once in a while。

Sherlock needs to have more interaction other wise I would love it

Really fun! Fits the vibe of the movie, with some changes to the family dynamic。 Not appropriate for my 8 year old - we’ll wait a couple years。

perfect read for in between!!I felt so much comfort in Enola and „her“ writing and storytelling that i totally lost track of time and bounded with her, despite the shortness of the novella。It is definitely not a children’s book only (I am talking to you Louis Partridge!) but for everyone searching for a short, women praising and empowering read。

A great spinoff of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s works for younger readers。 The story was a good one, although this was of the few instances where I preferred the screen adaptation to the book。 Millie Bobby Brown inhabits this character, infusing her with a vim and vigor that is so charming。 Glimpses of that fierce character are seen in the book’s Enola, I just feel like they added so much to the screen adaptation Enola it adds to one’s enjoyment of the character。 I did watch the screen adaptation be A great spinoff of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s works for younger readers。 The story was a good one, although this was of the few instances where I preferred the screen adaptation to the book。 Millie Bobby Brown inhabits this character, infusing her with a vim and vigor that is so charming。 Glimpses of that fierce character are seen in the book’s Enola, I just feel like they added so much to the screen adaptation Enola it adds to one’s enjoyment of the character。 I did watch the screen adaptation before reading the book so this likely influences my overall perception。 I did like how the author stayed true to Doyle’s style, yet also made it more accessible for a wide variety of readers。 。。。more

This was a fun read。 The first book in a series, it introduces Sherlock Holmes' much younger sister Enola who was brought up by her somewhat unconventional mother。 One day, Enola's mother disappears。 Enola sets out to find her and solves a mystery or two。 This was a fun read。 The first book in a series, it introduces Sherlock Holmes' much younger sister Enola who was brought up by her somewhat unconventional mother。 One day, Enola's mother disappears。 Enola sets out to find her and solves a mystery or two。 。。。more

This book flew by。 I was surprised how much less complicated the book was in comparison to the movie adaptation。 I found that I really enjoyed Enola as a character。 She’s sympathetic and also has such grit。 It was fun to see her become so self-possessed。 I will read more in the series, but I also don’t feel a sense of urgency。

Good。 Not sure it's great。 I am curious to read another to see what happens。 Can't decide if my kiddo would really like it。 Sherlock Holmes and his brother Mycroft seem like quite the obnoxious pair。 Good。 Not sure it's great。 I am curious to read another to see what happens。 Can't decide if my kiddo would really like it。 Sherlock Holmes and his brother Mycroft seem like quite the obnoxious pair。 。。。more

I wasn't aware the Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes had a younger sister until I watched an Enola Holmes movie with her。 Then I discovered that there was a series of books, so thought I would check them out。 Of course, the movie varies in places from the book, and I actually like the movie more。 May read some more at some point。 I wasn't aware the Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes had a younger sister until I watched an Enola Holmes movie with her。 Then I discovered that there was a series of books, so thought I would check them out。 Of course, the movie varies in places from the book, and I actually like the movie more。 May read some more at some point。 。。。more
