Fun alternative for anyone who’s a fan of the show and wants to experience some additional material。 I’m looking forward to getting the next volume。

I mean。。, did we expect any less than greatness?Long, awesome, great。 Now, apparently I have to write seventeen more words。 Now only nine more to go。 Now two。

There were some shining hilarity or character development moments in this volume, including the return of Scary Terry, the great follow-through between two issues where an end gag ends up being the next major plot point, & a short at the end where Rick and Morty are traumatized more than usual。 Overall, though, this volume didn't quite have the same feel as the show。 Timing, jokes, & characters felt a little underdeveloped。 There were some shining hilarity or character development moments in this volume, including the return of Scary Terry, the great follow-through between two issues where an end gag ends up being the next major plot point, & a short at the end where Rick and Morty are traumatized more than usual。 Overall, though, this volume didn't quite have the same feel as the show。 Timing, jokes, & characters felt a little underdeveloped。 。。。more

Somit vergebe ich an dieser Stelle sagenhafte 10/10 Fledermäuse。Rick & Morty Bd。 1 - MUST HAVE !- 🔫 - 。。。more

The artwork was great。 And that’s the only reason I gave it two stars。 The stories were disjointed and senseless。 I think I’ll stick with the TV version。 It doesn’t seem to translate well to the page。

Review is for the first 5 volumes in the main line。 The spirit of the series is captured, but the art is inconsistent to the point of being disconcerting between some issues, reducing the overall enjoyment of the series。

A fun excursion into the world of Rick and Morty for those who get a little tired of waiting for more of the show。 Gorman's writing is up to snuff, presenting versions of Rick and Morty that sound true to themselves。 I'm not positive on the canonicity of the comics, but they certainly feel like they fit right in to the wacky universe in which the show resides。 Each issue feels like a mini-episode, and in these first five we get: trouble with the Time Police, the Clackspire Labyrinth, Clonerbeast A fun excursion into the world of Rick and Morty for those who get a little tired of waiting for more of the show。 Gorman's writing is up to snuff, presenting versions of Rick and Morty that sound true to themselves。 I'm not positive on the canonicity of the comics, but they certainly feel like they fit right in to the wacky universe in which the show resides。 Each issue feels like a mini-episode, and in these first five we get: trouble with the Time Police, the Clackspire Labyrinth, Clonerbeasts, alternate dimensions (of course), the Dreamverse, and an excellent appearance by Scary Terry! 。。。more

I went into this expecting to like it, and I’m pleasantly surprised by how much I wound up loving it。 I feel like the creative team behind these comics really has the spirit of the show down。 The little fourth wall breaks and self-awareness were great。 I also loved Rick and Morty’s relationship here for the same reasons I love it in the show: it’s super dysfunctional, but they do love each other, and we get to see some really sweet moments between the two of them (which were surprisingly emotion I went into this expecting to like it, and I’m pleasantly surprised by how much I wound up loving it。 I feel like the creative team behind these comics really has the spirit of the show down。 The little fourth wall breaks and self-awareness were great。 I also loved Rick and Morty’s relationship here for the same reasons I love it in the show: it’s super dysfunctional, but they do love each other, and we get to see some really sweet moments between the two of them (which were surprisingly emotional at times)。 The humor was great too, similar to the show if a bit toned down as far as the raunchiness goes。 。。。more

This captures the tone, if not the humor, of the TV series; enjoyable at the time, but probably not something that will stick with you。

Danger

I'm sorry but this captures about a fraction of what the TV show contains。 The jokes aren't really very funny and most of these "stories" don't even have an ending or any kind of resolution。 It wasn't egregious or anything and it took about 30 minutes to read from front to back, but as supplementary material, this added almost nothing。 I'm sorry but this captures about a fraction of what the TV show contains。 The jokes aren't really very funny and most of these "stories" don't even have an ending or any kind of resolution。 It wasn't egregious or anything and it took about 30 minutes to read from front to back, but as supplementary material, this added almost nothing。 。。。more

Someone got this for me as a Christmas gift about 6 years ago, and I never read it because I thought it would probably be terrible。 Finally did, and I was correct。 At least I can now get rid of this thing without the guilt of never having read it。
