Hunger Games vibes with vampires and magic？ ABSOLUTELY！This book was so well written and the world building was so vivid that there’s no way I couldn’t love it。 It had everything I love in high stakes fantasy books， from a fight-to-the-death competition， broody vampires， a unique magic system， and a badass female main character who is just as dark and twisty as you’d think。 But she’s also a character who is very easy to relate to her emotions when reading and I really loved that about this book。 Hunger Games vibes with vampires and magic？ ABSOLUTELY！This book was so well written and the world building was so vivid that there’s no way I couldn’t love it。 It had everything I love in high stakes fantasy books， from a fight-to-the-death competition， broody vampires， a unique magic system， and a badass female main character who is just as dark and twisty as you’d think。 But she’s also a character who is very easy to relate to her emotions when reading and I really loved that about this book。 The twists and turns in the story and the intensity of the plot only made it better。 And don’t even get me started on that slowburn romance！ I love a good enemies to lovers storyline…。especially when a deadly competition is involved。 Basically， if you want a dark， adult fantasy story with hunger games vibes， vampires， unique mythology and world building， magic， and a badass and violent heroine， then you definitely need to read this book。 10/10 highly recommend！ 。。。more

4。5 stars。 The half star was for three too many “There she is”es and for not explaining if ALL humans in this world had the potential to do magic or if it was just her。 （This is not a spoiler btw。）But a brilliant book - the story and the characters felt fresh， when they could have been hackneyed given this is （spicy） YA fantasy。

WowI cannot wait for the next book。 I did not put this book down。 I read it straight through。 It was wonderful， amazing， I feel speechless trying to sum it up。 I have been chasing the feeling of the entirety of The Throne of Glass series without anything even coming close。 The Serpent and the Wings of Night gave me that feeling in 1 book。 This book was incredible and I will be recommending it to everyone I know。
