Cambio de ambiente y tercio, pero cada vez más trepidante。 Buena trama y todo el saber hacer de Sanderson。 Con ganas de leer el cuarto。

Wow! What a cool world within this already-cool universe that Sanderson has created! I liked it and did NOT see the ending coming, though it was hinted at。 Very fun book!

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 Siento que tarda mucho en engancharte, casi en toda la parte uno (en mi opinión) como que tienes que esforzarte por engancharte, y es hasta la parte dos en donde empieza a ponerse muy interesante。 Por un momento creí que Sanderson volvería a cambiar el tono de la saga, como hizo en el libro dos, pero de hecho lo mantiene muy bien e incluso lo perfecciona。Amé todo el universo que construyó, se siente con tantas posibilidades, y ahonda mucha en la combinación de Ciencia Ficción y Fantasía。 Te enca Siento que tarda mucho en engancharte, casi en toda la parte uno (en mi opinión) como que tienes que esforzarte por engancharte, y es hasta la parte dos en donde empieza a ponerse muy interesante。 Por un momento creí que Sanderson volvería a cambiar el tono de la saga, como hizo en el libro dos, pero de hecho lo mantiene muy bien e incluso lo perfecciona。Amé todo el universo que construyó, se siente con tantas posibilidades, y ahonda mucha en la combinación de Ciencia Ficción y Fantasía。 Te encariñas demasiado con los personajes, y te quedas con muchas ganas de más。 。。。more

The character development, the world building, the everything about this book。 It was probably my least favourite of the series so far but Spensa has come so far as a person and M-bot will forever be one of my favourite characters。 Their banter together just makes me smile so much。 The whole running joke of "Made you look" absolutely broke me。I had no idea what plot this book would be following and it flew off on some odd adventure with the lovely lovely Chet and I'm not mad about it。 I have no The character development, the world building, the everything about this book。 It was probably my least favourite of the series so far but Spensa has come so far as a person and M-bot will forever be one of my favourite characters。 Their banter together just makes me smile so much。 The whole running joke of "Made you look" absolutely broke me。I had no idea what plot this book would be following and it flew off on some odd adventure with the lovely lovely Chet and I'm not mad about it。 I have no idea where Defiant is going to go but I'm hoping for lots more Jorgen, and preparing for lots more heartbreak。 。。。more

I liked this but enjoyed Skyward and Starsight much more。 The world is just expanding exponentially in each book。 The current book somehow seemed less enjoyable mainly because of lack of any of the older characters and it seemed like the time in nowhere is of less importance somehow。 Also I would loved to get more details in the epilogue about Jorgen and the others of Platform Prime。

I love Suzy Jackson as a narrator so much。 She really brings Spensa to life。 Cytonic gets a little zany, but it makes sense in the story world。 So far the Skyward series (including the Skyward Flight novellas with Janci Patterson) are my favorite Sanderson novels, and I have them in hardback and on audio because I love relistening to prep for the next book。

Well, I made it through #2 and was glad, but lost this when it turned into Harrison Ford adventure but riding on a pseudo dinosaur。。。 Just didn't have the will to read past the first 20 pages。 Well, I made it through #2 and was glad, but lost this when it turned into Harrison Ford adventure but riding on a pseudo dinosaur。。。 Just didn't have the will to read past the first 20 pages。 。。。more

Okay, I'll admit this one didn't have the fast-paced nature that the previous two had。 And that might explain its relatively low rating。BUT。I personally felt that this book had its own charm。 I did remark that it had become a snoozefest at certain points, but looking back, I believe that to be just a recency bias side effect。 Chet was so nice! M-Bot grew up。 And the Broadsiders were amazing! Peg and her muluns especially, haha。P。S。: I can't live without giving a book a 5* rating, can I? Decent book which felt like a filler for the most part with nothing substantive happening as far as the rest of the universe is concerned。The protagonist herself develops a lot during this period, but am kinda sad that the rest of the characters don't get any read-time。 Eagerly looking forward to the next book, the stage is all set for a grand finale!

* Major Spoilers ahead*Scud。 What a book。 Brandon Sanderson has managed to put Spensa in three completely different yet thrilling situations with a newish plot line and newer characters without making us miss the old ones。 I thought I'd want to see the previous characters again for some further character development but as I started reading about the new ones I rarely thought about the precious ones。 First of all, can we all have a Chet in our life? Such positivity, adventure and politeness。 Who would have thought this man would turn out to be a rouge delver! And his backstory was a complete twist。 I was hoping for some evil aliens to kill for pleasure but they were a victim of such a primal emotion。 Grief。 So many people in today's world do cruel things to each other mostly out of fear, undirected grief or to cover up one's own shortcoming while blaming the other so they forget about their own problems。 I kept thinking about the link to the book Sapiens, wherein Yuval Harris mentions that homo sapiens developed too fast to get to the top of the food chain unlike other animals who took millions of years。 And that made us extra cruel because were did it more out of fear。 We lacked the natural majestic-ness of the apex predators。 The Delvers also seek to destroy not only because they can but because they were so very afraid。 M-Bot was simply too cute, His new drone, his understanding of emotions and the teary sacrifice。 I know he's going to come back as a badass character in the next novel。 Maybe with humanoid features? I hope not though。 He's awesome as a fighter plane。 Doomslug。 Thank the star for her。 She seemed like such a mature character。 And to protect her own。 That was just beyond awesome。 Now, Spensa。 I loved her transformation。 I loved her confidence。 Such faith in one's abilities。 If I had half that awesomeness I'm sure I would be in a very different situation in my life。 She knows her shortcomings。 And she's not overconfident。 She knows she was good simply from practice。 。 And that is truly amazing。 Also throughout the book she keeps growing as a person。 To listen to and realize different points of views。 To not judge an alien species based on previous experiences。 To embrace and truly accept your so-called enemy。 Truly awesome。 I always keep thinking there are so many things we can learn from reading。 I wonder why everyone doesn't do it often enough。 These characters are always so inspiring。 If she can do it so can I。 And we often see them grow。 We know what sort a mindset they come from。 And I know these are fictional characters, but I would like to believe that there are similar people who are real。 Just like she chased the heroes her Gran-gran taught her about, I hope I can also grow with her in my mind。 The stories of the pirates and factions was quite nice。 Even the path of elders gave the book a lovely story arc。 There is so much we can learn from our ancestors。 The origin of villains often comes form pain。 But I feel that everything was overshadowed by the incredible character development。 We often see things that interest us the most。 I really hope mine is as beautiful。 Also did I mention Hesho? Screw Chet。 I was a Hesho in my life。 Such wisdom from a 25 centimeter alien。 Such respect and inner peace。 Such。 。。。more

Book 3 has Spensa and M-Bot going into the Nowhere, first as an escape from the Superiority and then in an attempt to neutralize the delvers。 (That sentence will make sense to only a select few, I realized as I was typing it。) A good chunk of the book read like a Treasure Island-style adventure story, which was fun。 We're again introduced to a new crop of characters, with a couple returning from earlier books, and again Spensa ends up training a bunch of raw pilot recruits。 I hope in the next on Book 3 has Spensa and M-Bot going into the Nowhere, first as an escape from the Superiority and then in an attempt to neutralize the delvers。 (That sentence will make sense to only a select few, I realized as I was typing it。) A good chunk of the book read like a Treasure Island-style adventure story, which was fun。 We're again introduced to a new crop of characters, with a couple returning from earlier books, and again Spensa ends up training a bunch of raw pilot recruits。 I hope in the next one Sanderson branches out with a new plot。 But the world-building continues to be excellent, and I'll see what happens in the 4th (and final?) book。 。。。more

Love the humor and personality。 The story felt a bit nuts and over explained。 The world seemed overly complicated and lasted too long in the outerworld。 Characters were perfect though。 (the book makes so much more sense when read in context with all the following novellas and novels)

I love Brandon Sanderson books and have always enjoyed this series however I did struggle to engage with the first half of this book。 Perhaps it was because there are very few familiar characters or places to latch onto as this book barrels into new locations and a cast of new characters。 I am hoping the last book in the series immerses me more and keeps up the intensity of the first books in the series。

Wow! I totally thought I was going to give Cytonic 4 stars but the last 50 pages completely made it a 5 stars! 😭 Oh my god! The emotions I felt! In terms of the way this installment pulled off a massive genre-shift for the series, I'd say it was very successful, however it felt a little needlessly bloated especially in the later half of the book where the real meat of the plot really occupies only the very last few chapters。 All that being said I think this sets up a nice final installment in the series and I'm intrigued where all of this is headed, but I wish this had been more of a novella length akin to ReDawn or Sunreach。 In terms of the way this installment pulled off a massive genre-shift for the series, I'd say it was very successful, however it felt a little needlessly bloated especially in the later half of the book where the real meat of the plot really occupies only the very last few chapters。 All that being said I think this sets up a nice final installment in the series and I'm intrigued where all of this is headed, but I wish this had been more of a novella length akin to ReDawn or Sunreach。 。。。more

This was good but definitely not my favorite of the three, and honestly, in my silly opinion, not the best ending to the series。 The last two books set up an awesome exchange between main forces of good and evil- and it kind of fell flat。 We basically went through the same formula of Spin going somewhere far away and then training people- and it felt a little repetitive。 There was growth。 There was plot。 But I’m a little miffed about how this ended。

Added dimensions to adventure and self discovery, well written。
