Summary

In this prequel to #1 New York Times bestselling phenomenon They Both Die at the End, two new strangers spend a life-changing day together after Death-Cast first makes their fateful calls。

It’s the night before Death-Cast goes live, and there’s one question on everyone’s mind: Can Death-Cast actually predict when someone will die, or is it just an elaborate hoax?

Orion Pagan has waited years for someone to tell him that he’s going to die。 He has a serious heart condition, and he signed up for Death-Cast so he could know what’s coming。

Valentino Prince is restarting his life in New York。 He has a long and promising future ahead and he only registered for Death-Cast after his twin sister nearly died in a car accident。

Orion and Valentino cross paths in Times Square and immediately feel a deep connection。 But when the first round of End Day calls goes out, their lives are changed forever—one of them receives a call, and the other doesn’t。 Though neither boy is certain how the day will end, they know they want to spend it together…even if that means their goodbye will be heartbreaking。

Told with acclaimed author Adam Silvera’s signature bittersweet touch, this story celebrates the lasting impact that people have on each other and proves that life is always worth living to the fullest。

I’ve read this book in just over one day, I loved they both die in the end, I loved this book too but I didn’t find it as emotional as the previous book。 What I like about the book/s is that it’s making me think about my crap life and how I’m not living it。The book is just making me want to live a better life and stop caring about the stupid unimportant things in life, move on and start again。 “Out with the old in with the new” I loved this book I really did。

literally read this book in one day,,, it broke my heart so many times but mended it too for a change (looking at you adam)。 this was less devastating (not by much) than his other books but i loved it so so muchadded: i also really love the way adam connects his stories and it all makes sense, there are quite a few characters but they’re all at least a little connected somehow and whenever one character sees another i always gasp。anyway adam ily pls always keep breaking my heart

I went into this so sceptical, but the sheer chokehold this book has had on my brain while I read it。 I honestly enjoyed it more than the first one!

This book devastated me and has left an empty void in my heart because I consumed it too fast。 10/10 would go through it again。 TFTDATE is full of beautiful writing, a few laughs and full heartbreak。 I loved these characters so much and getting to dive back into the Death Cast Universe。

This is a story about hope and regret。 Death-Cast, a new service that claims it is able to predict the day that people will die, is about to go live。 Many have signed up for the service, where Death-Cast calls you when it is your “End Day,” while others are convinced the service is nothing more than an elaborate hoax。 On the night of the launch, amidst a gathering in Times Square, two young men cross paths。 Orion, no stranger to sudden and tragic deaths, has a bad heart condition。 After years of This is a story about hope and regret。 Death-Cast, a new service that claims it is able to predict the day that people will die, is about to go live。 Many have signed up for the service, where Death-Cast calls you when it is your “End Day,” while others are convinced the service is nothing more than an elaborate hoax。 On the night of the launch, amidst a gathering in Times Square, two young men cross paths。 Orion, no stranger to sudden and tragic deaths, has a bad heart condition。 After years of uncertainty for his and his family, Orion, a native New Yorker, signed up for Death-Cast so he could finally have some certainty over when he would die。 Valentino Prince has just moved to New York from Phoenix to start his career as a model。 He left behind his parents, who have not accepted him since he came out, and is looking forward to building a new life, starting with a major modeling campaign that cast him。 He signed up for Death-Cast only after his beloved twin sister nearly died in a car accident。 On that fateful night, Orion and Valentino are immediately drawn to one another。 But when the first round of Death-Cast calls go out, one receives a call letting him know this is his End Day and the other does not。 They could go their separate ways but instead decide to spend the day together even though they know that, at least for one of them, the day will end in tragedy。 What they couldn’t know at that time is that both of their lives, and those of their families, will be changed forever by this one day they have with each other。 I thoroughly enjoyed this book。 This sequel to They Both Die At The End is a worthy successor to that great book。 Even as you know from the outset that one of the two main characters is likely to die by the end, the book is nevertheless uplifting and heartwarming in many ways。 Orion and Valentino had much different lives, each with their own tragedies and obstacles。 But it is a joy to spend the day with them together, as they discover connection and a type of hope that each felt was out of their reach。 By the end of this book, you are likely to have at least a few tears in your eyes from this touching story about love, chosen family, navigating tragedy, and living without regret。 Highly recommended! 。。。more

3。5 stars。For me, this was much better than 'they both die at the end' which I gave 2 stars, one for Rufus and one for Mateo。I feel like I really liked Orion and Valentino's relationship much more than Rufus and Mateo as I felt because the book being longer, I was able to feel empathy for these characters more as they experience their day and feel sympathy when 'the ending' happens。Last time, I didn't really like the side character perspectives as I felt they were so useless and didn't care at a 3。5 stars。For me, this was much better than 'they both die at the end' which I gave 2 stars, one for Rufus and one for Mateo。I feel like I really liked Orion and Valentino's relationship much more than Rufus and Mateo as I felt because the book being longer, I was able to feel empathy for these characters more as they experience their day and feel sympathy when 'the ending' happens。Last time, I didn't really like the side character perspectives as I felt they were so useless and didn't care at all, but because this time we got to learn about death-cast, it made those chapters more readable and enjoyable。 Still some side characters that felt a waste of time though。I felt like the book was paced really well and wasn't too bored during the middle。 Like there was something always going on and I really liked watching their (the love interest's) relationship develop over a day which normally I would not like b/c it was just a day but Adam Silvera made it feel like we have spent a lifetime with them which felt really nice!I LOVED the easter egg this book had for 'they both die at the end' and I don't want to say anything but it was PERFECTI thought the ending was done well as well but as the title depicts, predictable but this is the point of the novel。 I think it is really interesting how Adam makes you fall in love with the characters even though you know they are going to die and I think that is a really powerful writing ability and I commend him for that。Overall I would recommend this book over 'they both die at the end' as I feel like you can tell that Adam's writing has improved much more and it was just better story telling。 :) 。。。more

This book was beautifully heartbreaking。 Just like “they both die at the end” this book made me cry like a baby。This book was shocking, emotional, full of love and grief, humorous and had so many lovable and flawed characters。They way the characters, even minor ones, are connected with each other is really enjoyable for me。 The way this book handled all his different characters was really great。 We got so many different POV’s and some really nice side story’s, while never shifting out of focus o This book was beautifully heartbreaking。 Just like “they both die at the end” this book made me cry like a baby。This book was shocking, emotional, full of love and grief, humorous and had so many lovable and flawed characters。They way the characters, even minor ones, are connected with each other is really enjoyable for me。 The way this book handled all his different characters was really great。 We got so many different POV’s and some really nice side story’s, while never shifting out of focus on Valentino and Orion and their extraordinary adventure together。 I liked that not everything was going perfectly smooth and how the characters planed。 The emotions felt real and how people navigated them and developed in such a short time was kinda cathartic。 。。。more

My bookstore had this book ready for me a couple days early and let me tell you, I DEVOURED it。 Adam Silvera has been my favorite author for about two years now and he never ever disappoints。 Ever。 TFTDATE lives up to its huge hype and beyond, and is just as amazing and heartbreaking as TBDATE - if not more ♡ please do yourself a favor and read this。 But keep the tissues ready! You will need them。 Lots of them。

This was both of their first times and it didn’t sound like Orion was close to having sex so why did he just happen to have them? Did Dayana and Floyd give him the bees and bees talk? Also another thing that bothered me was that Orion kept saying “mad” to mean very or extremely。 I had to Google it and turns out it’s a NY thing。 I live on the West Coast and it’s not much of a thing out here but it kind of annoyed me。 I did tear up when *SPOILER* Valentino died。 Again, overall I liked this book and can’t wait for others to read it。 。。。more

This book, while more in depth with the characters and emotionally heavy, was too similar to the first one。 There were a few key differences, but otherwise it was just really repetitive。But, this is a solid read, so if you want to read it I say go for it。 However, I wouldn’t read this before TBDATE。 It just doesn’t have the same charm as the first one。 As whole, this book was just okI got a an advanced readers copy of this book from my library just fyi

I also LOVED the other perspectives in this book which I found was also done so much better。 They were recurring, meaning that those storylines were explored deeper and tied the whole book together which I thought was done so well。 I loved seeing the creator’s thoughts as Death-Cast was beginning, I thought that was a nice touch 🫶🏻My only problem was that I thought they would reveal how they know people are going to die each day but then they never did so I was left feeling a bit disappointed by that but it definitely didn’t take away from the story at all。 This book is inspiring, heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time。 I can’t recommend reading it more when it comes out on October 5th! Even if you didn’t like They Both Die at the End, I would still read this 100% 🤍 。。。more
