Reminds me how beautiful this work is and how luck I am to be living in it。 My problems seem insignificant in comparison to the scope of the world and I should always keep perspective。

As a first time parent, this book resonates much of the writer's feelings。 I love that there is so much to talk about on each page with my daughter。 The conversations change with each milestone and we have been able to read this book from 6 months thru 3 yrs now :) This is a book close to my heart。 As a first time parent, this book resonates much of the writer's feelings。 I love that there is so much to talk about on each page with my daughter。 The conversations change with each milestone and we have been able to read this book from 6 months thru 3 yrs now :) This is a book close to my heart。 。。。more

Super Cute! Loved the illustrations and the read-along ebook was such a fun format!

An average read。 I enjoyed the illustrations and how they provided opportunities to play "can you find the。。。?" or to discuss other things。 But overall I felt other books with the same concept of introducing Earth to others were more enjoyable。 An average read。 I enjoyed the illustrations and how they provided opportunities to play "can you find the。。。?" or to discuss other things。 But overall I felt other books with the same concept of introducing Earth to others were more enjoyable。 。。。more

Haven’t been a fan of the Oliver Jeffers books I’ve read recently but I loved this one。 The illustrations are amazing and so detailed。 His awe-inspiring art portrays what he feels is important for his child to know about life。 His words are few and message subtle。 Planet earth, the starry sky and universe, the land and sea。 Humanity in all its shapes, sizes, and colors, land and sea animals in all shapes, sizes, colors。 A message to be kind to others, to one’s body, and to “look after the earth, Haven’t been a fan of the Oliver Jeffers books I’ve read recently but I loved this one。 The illustrations are amazing and so detailed。 His awe-inspiring art portrays what he feels is important for his child to know about life。 His words are few and message subtle。 Planet earth, the starry sky and universe, the land and sea。 Humanity in all its shapes, sizes, and colors, land and sea animals in all shapes, sizes, colors。 A message to be kind to others, to one’s body, and to “look after the earth, as it’s all we’ve got。” 。。。more

I purchased this book at Target thinking it would be a cute addition for my classroom in the future as I love Oliver Jeffers work in The Day The Crayons Quit and The Day the Crayons Came Home。 This book absolutely should have been a Caldecott winner。 In this tale, we see the typical print and illustration style of Oliver Jeffers, but there are so many different colors and detailed illustrations that are not present in the books he did with Drew Daywalt。 There are several illustrations of the oce I purchased this book at Target thinking it would be a cute addition for my classroom in the future as I love Oliver Jeffers work in The Day The Crayons Quit and The Day the Crayons Came Home。 This book absolutely should have been a Caldecott winner。 In this tale, we see the typical print and illustration style of Oliver Jeffers, but there are so many different colors and detailed illustrations that are not present in the books he did with Drew Daywalt。 There are several illustrations of the oceans, galaxies, planets, and people。 This book is from a loving perspective of a father to a son, though, it could be to students as well。 There are beautiful and bright colors in areas that are typically monochromatic in color, and there are beautiful color gradients on the ocean and I was astounded。 I read this book sitting in front of a window and I got to see them in full color。 I am thrilled to share this with the class。 。。。more

A perfect picture book to share with young children all about things one should know about this amazing place we live and share with all kinds of people and animals, planet Earth。 If the message behind this read could be summarized in one word it would be KINDNESS。 Kindness to others, to animals, to our planet and to ourselves because there is only so much time and space, so we might as well use it well。

Wonderful pictures and lovely message。

My favorite Jeffers book to read to the kid so far。 Definitely my favorite example of his artwork。 Also I always dig the kids books that take the form of a "guide" to being。 My favorite Jeffers book to read to the kid so far。 Definitely my favorite example of his artwork。 Also I always dig the kids books that take the form of a "guide" to being。 。。。more

Reflections and lessons learned:“You’re never alone on earth”Not the accent that I expected! Possibly even more lovely than the print book - and then the extra voice at the end!! Ahhhhhhh。。。。!“You will figure lots of things out for yourself - just remember to leave notes for everyone else”

Kai Metcalfe

Illustrations were very cute and detailed and the sentiment was good。 But nothing about the words REALLY grabbed my attention。 Kinda silly, focused on being good and kind。

Dayna

Three words to live by: respect, consideration, and tolerance。Be kind to everyone。 There’s enough to go around。 Charming!

Karen

This book is truly funny and fascinating! As basic as the concepts are, I never thought of Earth this way。 Simple but meaningful life lessons。

Stella

Hayley Craig

I really enjoyed this story。 It explores the world we live in and how we should look after it。 There is also a good message that there are always people around you to help。 A fantastic story with lots of links to other areas。 You could do lots of literacy tasks on this story plus a Venn diagram and compare it with the way back home。 Links to science topics。

Dreia

Sweetness in a book, for both kids and adults。

Alice Biggerstaff

Beautiful book - simple yet extremely meaningful, revealing how precious life and planet earth is and what can be done to ensure the world is a safe place。

Prachtige boek!

Samantha

This book is a wonderful Read Aloud for kids in in Grades K-3。 It talks about different features of the Earth and Space。 The illustrations are beautiful too! My students enjoyed making observations about the illustrations and the different people, animals, and places in the book。
