Summary

A burnt-out pop star stranded in small-town Kentucky can't help falling for her unlikely knight in shining armor--the notoriously grumpy owner of the local pie shop--in this charming slice of romance from the author of the TikTok sensation The Cheat Sheet

Amelia Rose, known as Rae Rose to her fans, is burnt out from years of maintaining her "princess of pop" image。 Inspired by her favorite Audrey Hepburn film Roman Holiday, and desperate for a getaway from the music business, she drives off in the middle of the night for a respite in Rome。。。Rome, Kentucky, that is。

When Noah Walker finds Amelia on his front lawn in her broken-down car, he makes it clear he doesn't have the time or patience for celebrity problems。 He's too busy running the pie shop his grandmother left him and reminding his nosy but lovable neighbors to mind their own damn business。 But his heart softens when it becomes clear that years in the public eye have left Amelia lonely and isolated。 Soon she'll have to return to her glamorous life on tour, but until then Noah will show Amelia all the charming small-town experiences she's been missing and she'll show him how to open his heart to more。

Amelia can't resist falling for Rome and her grumpy tour guide, but she keeps reminding herself that even Audrey had to go back to her real life in the end。。。

3。25 ⭐️ cute little pg slow burn romance with “erotic hugs”。 cheat sheet is still my favorite Sarah Adams read but this had a certain charm to it。 a little too slow burn romance for me。 I found it kind of cute that making pancakes became such a core concept of this book。

It had the cutest meet cute (although granted, it can be scary if it happened in real life, but that’s why we read fiction because we can ignore reality for a while 😅)Rae is such a cute female lead to follow and Noah’s personality is a great contrast for hers。 Needless to say, their chemistry is amazing! I love the witty banters too! And surprise surprise, I l adored the small town setting of this book and all the cute side characters! 4 pancake stars 🌟 American version of Notting Hill ❤️ Who else is craving for pancakes? 😋 Book started very entertaining, the first 2 chapters I was laughing out loud。 However, the grumpy shell Noah builds feel so fake, I mean how can you be so nice to let a stranger live with you but then, be such a jacka** and treat her like sh** because of your past。 If he threw her out after the first night, it would have been a better developed story。Still, their chemistry is good, the dialogues are fun and 4 pancake stars 🌟 American version of Notting Hill ❤️ Who else is craving for pancakes? 😋 Book started very entertaining, the first 2 chapters I was laughing out loud。 However, the grumpy shell Noah builds feel so fake, I mean how can you be so nice to let a stranger live with you but then, be such a jacka** and treat her like sh** because of your past。 If he threw her out after the first night, it would have been a better developed story。Still, their chemistry is good, the dialogues are fun and the end is heartwarming ❤️ I have a hunch that doors left open to convert this into series and have stand alone books for Noah’s 3 sisters。 。。。more

Oh I loved this book! Having read the authors previous book The Cheat Sheet, I thought I'd enjoy this but didn't realise how much。The story was great, the main characters were believeable and I couldn't wait to see how their story turned out。 The supporting characters brought lots of humour, and the setting of Rome was perfect for this love story。I'm a sucker for a grumpy/sunshine impossible romance so this one hit the mark for me and was exactly what I wanted!Perfection。Thanks to Netgalley and Oh I loved this book! Set in a small town with nosey neighbors and a tight knit family, this book felt like the perfect cozy fall read。 If you've been on a celebrity romance kick like I have, this one is for you。 When Amelia needs a break from her pop star life, she does as Audrey Hepburn would and escapes to Rome, Rome Kentucky that is, where you guessed it, she meets Noah, the local pie shop owner。 Suddenly she finds her self in a forced proximity moment, living out of his home with no where else to stay。 A slow bu Set in a small town with nosey neighbors and a tight knit family, this book felt like the perfect cozy fall read。 If you've been on a celebrity romance kick like I have, this one is for you。 When Amelia needs a break from her pop star life, she does as Audrey Hepburn would and escapes to Rome, Rome Kentucky that is, where you guessed it, she meets Noah, the local pie shop owner。 Suddenly she finds her self in a forced proximity moment, living out of his home with no where else to stay。 A slow burn ensues with all the pining and "secret" glances a person could ever want。 。。。more

Pies, flowers, and books - the main ingredients according to Sarah Adams to make the ideal fictional boyfriend。 Ugh I cannot with how sweet and adorable this was。 Small town romances are my kryptonite and adding the grumpy/sunshine trope on top of that?- Literally this author can take all my money, idc。 5/5 ⭐️

I’m not normally one to read romance novels, but after I watched my best friend’s face light up with pure joy in the middle of Walmart as she talked about how much she loved this book (and said she’d buy me a copy if I promised to read it), how could I say no? First of all, who turns down a free book? And second, I’m SO glad we happened upon it at the store and she convinced me to give it a try。 I could not put this book down! A highly entertaining romcom from Sarah Adams! Noah just might be my second fav hero of hers (can't top Drew!)。 I love the small town/family dynamic of this one and the way Adams puts her own spin on what could be cliché tropes。 Seeing Amelia find her joy again + alllll the swoony romance (and pancake) moments are definitely the best parts!*content note: closed door romance with some explicit language throughout* A highly entertaining romcom from Sarah Adams! I wanted to fall head over heels with this book but I really did feel like their worlds were too different to make it truly work。 Maybe a longer epilogue would’ve made me think differently!
