Summary

The Stranger is a book that I wish I could read in the original language， so I could read it again for the first time and discover the world of Albert Camus。

I do not feel as if I've been through enough in life， or questioned my purpose or the value placed on everything around me to where I can truly resonate with The Stranger， by Albert Camus。 Originally picked up by a strange twist of fate， I decided to read it as I heard good things from people around me， and it was short enough to read through in a sitting。 However， even though I was picking up on the clever writing of Albert Camus and his intention to share his philosophy， it did not make me fee I do not feel as if I've been through enough in life， or questioned my purpose or the value placed on everything around me to where I can truly resonate with The Stranger， by Albert Camus。 Originally picked up by a strange twist of fate， I decided to read it as I heard good things from people around me， and it was short enough to read through in a sitting。 However， even though I was picking up on the clever writing of Albert Camus and his intention to share his philosophy， it did not make me feel a thing。 I read it and accepted it as fact， but could not relate it to any experience or thought I've had。 This is not to say I believe it is a shoddy book， as it's well written and holds to the test of time。 It's just why I give it three stars instead of five， as I can't say I liked the book outside of appreciating the exciting protagonist and the way it's written。 Feeling a little disappointed， I hope to return to this book later in my life and experience the deep thought and value others have taken from this novel。 I recommend this book to people who pursue a deeper understanding of the absurdism of human nature。 。。。more

قضية العبث واللامبالاةيقول ألبير كامو : ليست الرواية سوى فلسفة تم تصويرها。وهو ما ينطبق على هذه الرواية بشكل تااامفألبير كامو -الحائز على جائزة نوبل بالمناسبة- قد جسد في هذه الرواية فلسفته في الحياة ومنطقه。ولكن ما موضوعها؟المكان : الجزائر 。الرواية تحكي قصة ميرسول، شخص غير مبالٍ بأي شئ في الحياة، حتى عندما توفت والدته، تلقى الخبر وكأنه خبر عادي غير مهم، وواجب لابد أن يؤديه ويعود لحياته، لدرجة أنه تواعد مع فتاة بعدها بيوم وقضى معها اليوم。ثم يذهب في نزهة للبحر ويتشاجر هو وصديقه مع إثنان من الجزائريي قضية العبث واللامبالاةيقول ألبير كامو : ليست الرواية سوى فلسفة تم تصويرها。وهو ما ينطبق على هذه الرواية بشكل تااامفألبير كامو -الحائز على جائزة نوبل بالمناسبة- قد جسد في هذه الرواية فلسفته في الحياة ومنطقه。ولكن ما موضوعها؟المكان : الجزائر 。الرواية تحكي قصة ميرسول، شخص غير مبالٍ بأي شئ في الحياة، حتى عندما توفت والدته، تلقى الخبر وكأنه خبر عادي غير مهم، وواجب لابد أن يؤديه ويعود لحياته، لدرجة أنه تواعد مع فتاة بعدها بيوم وقضى معها اليوم。ثم يذهب في نزهة للبحر ويتشاجر هو وصديقه مع إثنان من الجزائريين ، ثم يطلق بعدها النار على إحداهما بلا أدنى سبب، لتنتهي الرواية بإعدامه。موضوع الرواية:وما تدور حوله الرواية بشكل عام هو فلسفة العبث وعدم جدوى فهم الحياة، ومن ثم أي محاولة لفهم الحياة هو محض عبثولذلك نجد الشخصية المحورية في الرواية ميرسول:* يتلقى خبر وفاة أمه بلامبالاة غير منطقية، ويحسب شعوره نحو الأمر بمقياس العقل。* عندما دخل في علاقة عاطفية مع ماري، لم يهتم كثيرا بالحب والمشاعر، بل رأى أنها لا وجود لها。*النظر للقتل مثله مثل الموت، لا مبرر له ولا فرق بينهما، سيان عنده الإثنين، ففي النهاية سيموت الإنسان، فما الفرق بين موته الآن وبعد عشرين عاماًهناك مجموعة من اللمحات في الرواية التي قوَّمت هذه الفلسفة ورؤيته لها:* مشهد جلوسه في الشرفة بالساعات جالساً يشاهد العالم والناس بلا أي هدف。 *إقتصار معيشته في منزله على حجره واحدة، متعللاً بما الجدوى من بيت كبير، هل البيت هو العالم！！！！*تعامله مع أي موقف حوله بلامبالاة، وسيان عنده أن يشهد زوراً أو أن لا يتكلم。*عندما سْئِل في المحكمة لماذا قتلته؟ رد بمنتهى البرود أنها حرارة الشمس。الفصل الأخير من الرواية، والحوار مع القس كان في منتهى الروعة والقوة، أعلن فيها الكاتب على لسان البطل ما يجول بداخله وثار في وجه من أراد أن يثور في وجههم، ثم أعلن بعدها أنه دخل في حالة صفاء سيان عنده بعدها ذهابه للمقصلة。والآن لماذا إسم الغريب؟لأنها الحالة الشعورية التي عليها بطل الروايةفهي وصف لغربته عن نفسه، عن المجتمع، عن الدين。والجدير بالذكر أن الرواية قد جاءت بعد أحداث الحرب العالمية الثانية، وما تتبعها من صدمات بسبب الدمار وكم الأعداد التي ماتت هباءً، ومن هنا جاءت الغربة。رواية فارقة ومهمة جدا جدا。ومن أهم الإقتباسات:*ان الانسان لا يغير حياته مطلقاً، وأن جميع أنواع الحياة تتساوى على أية حال。*ولكن الجميع يعرفون أن الحياة ليست جديرة بأن تعاش، ولم أكن أجهل في الحقيقة أن الموت في الثلاثين أو في السبعين سيان。* عشت بهذه الطريقة، وكان بالإمكان أن أعيش بطريقه أخرى。 قمت بهذا، ولم أقم بذاك。 لم أفعل أشياء، في حين فعلت أخرى。 وماذا بعد؟ كأني انتظرت طيلة عمري كي أبلغ تلك الدقيقة، ذاك الفجر الذي سأنال فيه جزائي。 لا شئ كان ذا أهميه وكنت أعلم جيداً لماذا。*يعتريني هذا الشعور الغريب بأني شخص زائد عن الحاجة أو متطفل على المكان بشكل ما。 *ماذا يهم؟ مافائدة الحب، الصداقة؟ ماذا لَو مُتّ؟ هل سآتي الى هذه الدنيا من جديد كأبلهٍ آخر؟ أم أن خبراتي ستظل قائمة لِيستفيد منها جديدي؟  。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 （VERY HEAVY SPOILERS Yeah） This book was honestly a little boring。 The book description was along the lines of "normal man faces the absurd。" The absurd was just literally murder。 I don't know what I expected， but it wasn't something like that。 I did think that the ending was really good， the way he goes back over what he's seen throughout the book and how he views it all differently now knowing he's about to die。 Besides the cool parallels shown throughout the book， it's kind of boring。 I wasn' （VERY HEAVY SPOILERS Yeah） This book was honestly a little boring。 The book description was along the lines of "normal man faces the absurd。" The absurd was just literally murder。 I don't know what I expected， but it wasn't something like that。 I did think that the ending was really good， the way he goes back over what he's seen throughout the book and how he views it all differently now knowing he's about to die。 Besides the cool parallels shown throughout the book， it's kind of boring。 I wasn't really a big fan of it。 It did allow me to feel pretentious though， so that's a bonus。 Translated French book with boring writing style is peak pretentious person book。 Glad I experienced that。 It was crazy that he was actually getting his head cut off at the end though， I thought that ended after the French Revolution。 I had to Google it， but apparently， the guillotine was outlawed in France in the 80s which made me go into shock a little bit。 They're crazy for that。 Anyway， if you're interested in stories where the character's life changes very abruptly， this is a good one for you。 。。。more

good bookit is such a journey of discovery。 in the first half， you get the first hand experience of things happening and in the later half， these are the same things presented from a third person perspective。 the main character is so interesting because you really do not know if you should take pity on him or not，， hes so honest about what he is he never pretends to feel anything but at the same time he feels nothing and the amazing thing about the writing is that even though he's so emotionless good bookit is such a journey of discovery。 in the first half， you get the first hand experience of things happening and in the later half， these are the same things presented from a third person perspective。 the main character is so interesting because you really do not know if you should take pity on him or not，， hes so honest about what he is he never pretends to feel anything but at the same time he feels nothing and the amazing thing about the writing is that even though he's so emotionless you can still identify with him，， it really gives you something to think about its fantastic 。。。more
