Not as helpful as I was hoping。

Whether you have the possibility of having lymphedema, have lymphedema from cancer or primary lymphedema, this is a worth while read for you。 The authors give a thorough explain of how lymphedema effects the body, and the steps you can take to mitigate the effects it has on you, a family member, or someone you know。 These are all just recommendations based out the current studies and what has worked in the realm of lymphedema as of now。 I can see why some lymphedema practices may not have said t Whether you have the possibility of having lymphedema, have lymphedema from cancer or primary lymphedema, this is a worth while read for you。 The authors give a thorough explain of how lymphedema effects the body, and the steps you can take to mitigate the effects it has on you, a family member, or someone you know。 These are all just recommendations based out the current studies and what has worked in the realm of lymphedema as of now。 I can see why some lymphedema practices may not have said to their patients anything in relation to nutrition。 Their aren't as many studies that have been done on the area which they show you in the book。 But, they do give you quite a bit in that area still。 In addition, when you finally read that area end to end, especially the end of the nutrition section, that based on an American diet it isn't the easiest thing to tell people that "possibly adjusting what you eat and how much you eat" will help your lymphedema。 To that I say, make the modifications where you can if you intend to experiment with how nutrition effects your lymphedema。 The hardest adjust for me would be only eating eggs 1-3 times a month😐。 Eggs are a stable in breakfast for me。 I can eat them up to 5-6 times a week for breakfast。 So, for me this isn't up for negotiation I will make adjustments elsewhere to make up for my love for eggs。 Each adjustment is a self choice, where you are most comfortable, what you are welling to give up, and do。 There isn't a one size fits all path with lymphedema, you define that path and you decide what is best for you and your lymphedema which is emphasized in this book。 I highly recommend this book。 It has all the necessary steps and plenty of resources to get more information on each area they focus on。 。。。more
