This was one of my favorite books to read to my girls when they were young。 The message of valuing our individuality is as important as ever in a time when conformity always seems to win。 Your child will not get the message that it's okay to be different from their peers。。。it must come from you。 Accompanied by bright and bold illustrations, this book can be used as a nice self esteem booster for the child who may indeed feel different。 This was one of my favorite books to read to my girls when they were young。 The message of valuing our individuality is as important as ever in a time when conformity always seems to win。 Your child will not get the message that it's okay to be different from their peers。。。it must come from you。 Accompanied by bright and bold illustrations, this book can be used as a nice self esteem booster for the child who may indeed feel different。 。。。more

Probably at least a 3。5, but I was expecting more from Parr。

The genre of this book is a picture book。 The age group that this book is intended for is 2- to 5-year-olds。 This book shows just how different everyone can be from each other。 Differences between people can be a really good and positive thing, make everyone unique in their own way。 I gave this book a three-star rating because I love the message that this book sends, but I wish some of the examples in the book were a little more realistic。 I know that this is a children’s book and it’s full of r The genre of this book is a picture book。 The age group that this book is intended for is 2- to 5-year-olds。 This book shows just how different everyone can be from each other。 Differences between people can be a really good and positive thing, make everyone unique in their own way。 I gave this book a three-star rating because I love the message that this book sends, but I wish some of the examples in the book were a little more realistic。 I know that this is a children’s book and it’s full of random colors, but I think that the differences should be a little more realistic。 I think this book would be appealing to younger readers。 The book is very easy to read and follow along with。 Once again, the book is filled with bold colors, and it’s also filled with silly drawings。 I would definitely use this book in a classroom。 It’s a good and easy way to teach children that everyone is different and unique in their own way。 It also shows that just because everyone is different doesn’t mean they should be treated differently。 People are still the same in other ways, even if we are different。 。。。more

A nice story about self acceptance, with some more serious statements and some more goofy light hearted ones。 I sorta wish the art was more realistic (one example being having multiple depictions of race with ‘it’s ok to be a different color’ instead of using a black and white zebra and a rainbow zebra)。 Otherwise, the story was cute and has a good message。 Good repetition with the line ‘it’s ok to [insert phrase]’。This book is best suited developmentally for early readers (kindergarten to 1st g A nice story about self acceptance, with some more serious statements and some more goofy light hearted ones。 I sorta wish the art was more realistic (one example being having multiple depictions of race with ‘it’s ok to be a different color’ instead of using a black and white zebra and a rainbow zebra)。 Otherwise, the story was cute and has a good message。 Good repetition with the line ‘it’s ok to [insert phrase]’。This book is best suited developmentally for early readers (kindergarten to 1st grade), though the message is good for any age。 I could recommend this story to any child who feels unsure about being different or standing out。 。。。more

The girls like Parr’s books, but sometimes I feel like they dance around the important point。

This book was very cheerful and colorful and it had a neat way of showing differences that made it fun and interesting and not weird nor embarrassing。 I liked how they said it’s okay to be a different color and illustrated it with two zebras with different stripes。 I also like when the book stated its okay to have a different nose and reflected that with a picture of an elephant and big ears was depicted with a bunny rabbit。 I love how the book promoted it was okay to say “no”, to ask for help, This book was very cheerful and colorful and it had a neat way of showing differences that made it fun and interesting and not weird nor embarrassing。 I liked how they said it’s okay to be a different color and illustrated it with two zebras with different stripes。 I also like when the book stated its okay to have a different nose and reflected that with a picture of an elephant and big ears was depicted with a bunny rabbit。 I love how the book promoted it was okay to say “no”, to ask for help, and to talk about your feelings。 I also love how the book included children from different family dynamics。 As well as being inclusive by displaying children with disabilities by depicting a child in a wheelchair and saying its okay to have wheels。 I also like how they showed children who wear glasses and touched on children who come from different parts of the world。 The book did a great job at encouraging readers to be proud of their differences。 I would recommend this book to teachers and parents to show young children that it’s okay to be different。 。。。more

It's Okay to Be Okay by Todd ParrIt's okay to be who you are。 No one is exactly the same as you。 A child learns to be confident in their differences。 Whether you are big, small, tall, or short everyone is their own person。 It's okay to feel emotions and express them how you please。 Be who you are。 You will be accepted。 Todd Parr does an amazing job at letting young readers know it's okay to be different than others。 He explains how no matter you look or feel everything is fine。 I believe this b It's Okay to Be Okay by Todd ParrIt's okay to be who you are。 No one is exactly the same as you。 A child learns to be confident in their differences。 Whether you are big, small, tall, or short everyone is their own person。 It's okay to feel emotions and express them how you please。 Be who you are。 You will be accepted。 Todd Parr does an amazing job at letting young readers know it's okay to be different than others。 He explains how no matter you look or feel everything is fine。 I believe this book is perfect for children starting in the age range of 3 years old。 That's where they start noticing and paying attention to others and themselves。 Teachers are able to read this book during morning circle time。 Parents can read it while at home during bed time or even in the morning to start their child's day with great positivity。 Confidence is key and I love to see children love who they are! 。。。more

It’s fine if you have a different nose, or you wear glasses or you have a worm for a pet。 It’s OK to be different because you are special and important。 There is no better message to give the children than to say you are valued for who you are。

Informational 1st grade reading level I absolutely loved this book!! This was a great read, and I would highly recommend reading this to your younger students as it portrays such a great theme of love。 Throughout this book, I learned how being different allows us to be special and unique in our own ways。 This book could teach our students that they all bring something different to the table, and that they need to celebrate their differences rather than hiding them。

is a book that helps young children understand that there are no two people exactly alike and that it is okay to be who you are。 It helps children learn to embrace the differences in the world around them and be proud of themselves and their families。

The story of many different monster children all with different features。 The monster kids compare features but decide that its ok to be different and that is what makes them who they are。 I think this book teaches a great lesson to kids that you don't have to look or act exactly like everyone else you are your own person and that's awesome。 The story of many different monster children all with different features。 The monster kids compare features but decide that its ok to be different and that is what makes them who they are。 I think this book teaches a great lesson to kids that you don't have to look or act exactly like everyone else you are your own person and that's awesome。 。。。more

"It’s Okay to be Different" is a light hearted children's book that tackles deep issues not only kids, but adults can deal with about not being accepted because of differences。 It does this by showing silly and colorful illustrations, paired with how it is okay to be different in whatever way you happen to be。While Parr obviously made this book for a younger audience, he made sure that even adults can appreciate and understand the message。 From how short the actual text is on each page it seems "It’s Okay to be Different" is a light hearted children's book that tackles deep issues not only kids, but adults can deal with about not being accepted because of differences。 It does this by showing silly and colorful illustrations, paired with how it is okay to be different in whatever way you happen to be。While Parr obviously made this book for a younger audience, he made sure that even adults can appreciate and understand the message。 From how short the actual text is on each page it seems like the illustrations are the main focus, which if that is the case the illustration gets across the same message the words do。 Each focus on what makes that person or animal in the illustration unique。 Whether it be having big ears or having two moms, Parr makes sure to show that it is okay even if not everyone has those things。 Personally this book gives me hope that younger generations will read this or be able to learn about how being different is not a bad thing and that being unique is always more of a strength than a weakness。 I was a little different growing up and wish I knew earlier on that it was okay to be, so seeing books like this one in the hands of our children gives me hope。 。。。more

The book " It's Okay to Be Different" is a diverse and colorful way to show children that everyone is different。 In the book the message that children can learn is that even though everyone is different in their own way, that we should know it's okay to be different no matter what the difference is。 Every child has something unique about themselves that sets them apart。 However, we can also learn from this book that differences are something that can bring us together。 I would recommend this boo The book " It's Okay to Be Different" is a diverse and colorful way to show children that everyone is different。 In the book the message that children can learn is that even though everyone is different in their own way, that we should know it's okay to be different no matter what the difference is。 Every child has something unique about themselves that sets them apart。 However, we can also learn from this book that differences are something that can bring us together。 I would recommend this book because it is a simple way to show children what being different means and showing how to be empathetic towards people's differences。 This book is great for a younger audience because of the wonderful illustrations that get a powerful message across。 Not only is this book great for younger children to see in school, but it is good for parents as well。 By parent's reading this book to their children before they attend school, their child will already know what it means to be different and to accept differences。 。。。more
