This one has some zigzags to it! I really liked it, but I think that the characters could have had just a bit more。 I couldn't fully connect and just lose myself in the story all the way。 This one has some zigzags to it! Colby is taking his first vacation after 7 years。 Morgan just graduated college and is having one more adventure before starting her career。 Beverly is running from an abusive husband with her kid in tow。These 3 people seem to have nothing in common yet are connected in so many ways。This book is getting mixed reviews but I personally enjoyed it。 It's romance, mystery, and even some thriller thrown in。 I think it's another hit from Nicholas Sparks。 Colby is taking his first vacation after 7 years。 Morgan just graduated college and is having one more adventure before starting her career。 Beverly is running from an abusive husband with her kid in tow。These 3 people seem to have nothing in common yet are connected in so many ways。This book is getting mixed reviews but I personally enjoyed it。 It's romance, mystery, and even some thriller thrown in。 I think it's another hit from Nicholas Sparks。 。。。more

Dreamland by Nicholas Sparks is the latest in the author's angst ridden love stories, although this one didn't bring me to tears as most of his others did!Colby is a former musician, who went home to manage the family farm after the death of his grandmother, who is playing a gig in Florida and having a quick vacation。 Morgan is an influencer who does dances with her friends on TikTok who is having a beach vacation。 They meet and sparks fly, they fall in love。 But of course, their love is doomed, Dreamland by Nicholas Sparks is the latest in the author's angst ridden love stories, although this one didn't bring me to tears as most of his others did!Colby is a former musician, who went home to manage the family farm after the death of his grandmother, who is playing a gig in Florida and having a quick vacation。 Morgan is an influencer who does dances with her friends on TikTok who is having a beach vacation。 They meet and sparks fly, they fall in love。 But of course, their love is doomed, they're too different and could never settle in one place, she had lofty aspirations and he's。。。a farmer。 Could their love survive? This is not one of my favorite Sparks books。 I didn't feel drawn into the story as I usually do and didn't connect with the characters。 By the end I didn't really care if they got together or not。 Very unusual for one of his novels! What is there to say about a sparks book other than sheer perfection。 I always have a tissue box near me when reading his work。 Loved the mellow speed of the story and how it all came together at the end。

I see this becoming a movie! I have to admit, I feel Nicholas Sparks’ stories…novels…writing has changed since his separation/divorce。 This novel, I feel the writing and storyline is more similar to “old school” Nicolas Sparks。 I feel this could be a movie, but which brings me to…why hasn’t there been a Nicholas Sparks movie in like 5 years? Well, I the reason for the 4 stars ⭐️ rating, which really would be 4。5 is the Beverly chapters where so confusing。 That, I almost wanted to skip over them。 I see this becoming a movie! This isn’t your typical Nicholas Sparks book, but it was still a page turner。 Colby is a farmer who is on vacation。 While on vacation he meets a woman and they fall hard and fast, even knowing that they don’t have long together。 When their time together gets cut short, my heart broke for him。 Beverly is a mom on the run from her abusive husband, trying to keep herself and her son safe。 She is struggling to make ends meet and you feel how desperate she is。 Just when she thinks they can start ove This isn’t your typical Nicholas Sparks book, but it was still a page turner。 Colby is a farmer who is on vacation。 While on vacation he meets a woman and they fall hard and fast, even knowing that they don’t have long together。 When their time together gets cut short, my heart broke for him。 Beverly is a mom on the run from her abusive husband, trying to keep herself and her son safe。 She is struggling to make ends meet and you feel how desperate she is。 Just when she thinks they can start over, it all comes tumbling down。 How the two stories intersect is brilliant and heartbreaking at the same time。 While I figured the connection out (not too early), it was still hard reading how sick Beverly was and why。 I really enjoyed this book, but I warn you, it definitely isn’t your typical book by Mr。 Sparks。 I received an ARC and this is my honest, voluntary review。 。。。more

I was confused for a while because there is two stories being told, neither seem to have anything to do with the other。 In one you have a farmer/singer going to Florida and falling for a new college graduate。 In the other we have a mom with a small child on the run from her husband。 I will admit I love the spunky college graduate lol

Thank you Random Publishing House & NetGalley for this advanced copy in exchange for this fair and honest review。I have NEVER been more disappointed in a Nicholas Sparks novel than I am with this one。 So, if you're a fan or you loved the book or you want to give it a try。。。 I would stop reading my review right here。 I cant DNF books because ultimately I've had a few that will redeem themselves in the last 50 pages, but this one didn't。 It was just painful。 I think it was more painful for me beca Thank you Random Publishing House & NetGalley for this advanced copy in exchange for this fair and honest review。I have NEVER been more disappointed in a Nicholas Sparks novel than I am with this one。 So, if you're a fan or you loved the book or you want to give it a try。。。 I would stop reading my review right here。 I cant DNF books because ultimately I've had a few that will redeem themselves in the last 50 pages, but this one didn't。 It was just painful。 I think it was more painful for me because I really loved his last novel The Wish。 The love story between Colby and Morgan was just BAD。 I truly really liked Colby in the first chapter or so and that was about it。 Farm boy meets TikTok famous brat。 They instantly fall in love in 2 days。 Nope。 My BIGGEST problem with this book (and there were a few) was that it felt like Nicholas Sparks was trying WAY to hard to 'keep up with the times'。 I need him to stick to old school men writing a girl 365 letters。 This was just not it。 AT ALL。 I am actually upset to have to write this。 FINAL THOUGHTS: I hope Nicholas Sparks' next novel goes back to OG Nicholas Sparks。 I called the 'twist' ending about 50 pages before it happened and that was the ONLY reason I kept going。 The Beverly POV chapters were the only redeeming part of this story。 And then we should just classify it as a mystery/thriller。 Leave it at that。 Don't get this book if you're expecting anything close to his old work。 。。。more

I received an ARC copy of this book via NetGalley and the publisher。 All thoughts and opinions are my own。 Honestly, I am having a hard time coming up with the right words to describe this book。 The book had major "Safe Haven" vibes。 At one point, it felt like I was re-reading "Safe Haven" again。 While that is true, it is was also different than "Safe Haven" in a couple of ways。 In true Nicholas Sparks fashion, a guy meets a girl。 They pretty much instantly fall in love。 He portrays it as it tak I received an ARC copy of this book via NetGalley and the publisher。 All thoughts and opinions are my own。 Honestly, I am having a hard time coming up with the right words to describe this book。 The book had major "Safe Haven" vibes。 At one point, it felt like I was re-reading "Safe Haven" again。 While that is true, it is was also different than "Safe Haven" in a couple of ways。 In true Nicholas Sparks fashion, a guy meets a girl。 They pretty much instantly fall in love。 He portrays it as it takes days for the love to occur but we all know that it's instant love。 If you follow my page, you know that I'm not the biggest fan of instant love。 I enjoy the turmoil, the grief, the resentment that is, in my opinion, some of the superior tropes。 Colby and Morgan, no matter how much I hate their trope, actually stole my heart。 And of course in classical Nicholas Sparks fashion, both come from very different backgrounds and one usually having a traumatic childhood or past that they still deal with on a daily basis。 I appreciate Sparks' portrayal of Morgan。 How Morgan felt she would never live up to her family's standards and that she was okay with that。 It was a refreshing change of pace。 Most would be tied down and it takes the love interest proving to them that they do not need their family's approval to be who they are and do what they want with their lives。 Morgan was a very strong character, one that quickly became my favorite。 She was insanely talented but she was also so down to earth and level headed。 She was not cocky in the slightest。 You show me someone that has 8 million followers on TikTok who isn't a bit full of themselves? Which they have every right to be but some take it too far。 Overall, I really enjoyed Morgan's character。 I felt something similar to Colby。 Following suit with prior Sparks' novels, Colby was a small town farmer who lived majority of his life on the farm and didn't know much else。 But he has a hidden talent, something discovered late one night at a bar that lead to the fateful trip to Florida that would bring our two love birds together。 I love how Colby encouraged Morgan and never tried to tie her down。 It was beautiful。 What I was not expecting was the portrayal of bipolar disorder。 I have not personally been affected by it or know on a personal level of anyone who has。 So it was eye opening to see just how dangerous the mental illness can be。 I thought that Sparks' portrayed just how much it affected Colby and their aunt beautifully。 It was almost like I was right there, apart of their lives, dealing with the same situation。 I loved how you had no idea how Beverly and Colby were connected until almost the end of the book。 I was way off in my prediction and I was pleasantly surprised by it。 Overall I did enjoy this book。 I would have given it a 4。5 stars。 The only reason for not being a full 5 star review is that at times the book was slow and it almost felt like a rehash of several of his other books at times。 Otherwise, I highly enjoyed the book。 I would definitively recommend it to anyone that is a big fan of Nicholas Sparks books。 He does it once again and now I'm going to be taking bets on who is going to play Colby。 Tom Holland's not tall enough to be Colby nor can he sing。。。 Hmmm。。 。。。more

This story has dual narrators and is told in two different time frames。 The first thread tells us about a twenty-five-year-old farmer called Colby Mills。 He has given up his heart’s desire to be a musician and lyricist。 Once he was part of a musical group, but then they fell apart and Colby’s circumstances changed when his uncle passed away。 He stepped up and took over the family farm, working with his aunt and eventually his talented sister Paige who started a business as a glass artist to help This story has dual narrators and is told in two different time frames。 The first thread tells us about a twenty-five-year-old farmer called Colby Mills。 He has given up his heart’s desire to be a musician and lyricist。 Once he was part of a musical group, but then they fell apart and Colby’s circumstances changed when his uncle passed away。 He stepped up and took over the family farm, working with his aunt and eventually his talented sister Paige who started a business as a glass artist to help out with the finances。 With a lot of hard work and changes the farm starts to flourish and Colby hires a farm manager to help him diversify his farming crops and techniques。 This gives him time for a well needed short break in Florida。He gigs at Pete’s bar and is noticed by a girl called Morgan Lee, who already has a music degree and is hoping to go to Nashville and make her fortune。 She loves Colby’s music and particularly the lyrics he has produced himself。 She is on holiday with her three girlfriends, and they enjoy choreographing and performing dances, but this doesn’t hold her back one iota。 They meet and compare their musical prowess。 They even make music together。 A holiday romance is inevitable, and they fall hard for each other。 They are so happy and well suited, but with different family circumstances and heading so far apart, Colby wonders if they can make a future together。 It is a very big ask。The second thread starts with a dramatic decision when Beverley realises, she must be brave and leave her abusive husband。 He is never going to change despite his constant promises。 She must leave her lovely home and security before her six-year-old son Tommie gets hurt。 They pack a minimal number of essentials, just two bags each。 They leave when her husband is away from home and the house is in total darkness。 She is desperate to build a new life for her son and cleverly uses multiple busses and disguises so she will be almost impossible to track down, even using modern technology。 She cannot risk being found。 She is terrified that he will find their safe haven but luckily, she finds a remote place for them to rent, planning to get a job to fund their escape。 She paints, she cleans and gradually her new life seems possible。 Then she panics when a van seems to be keeping track of her, but she is short of money and has nowhere else to go。Two people who want to change their lives, if only they can change their destiny。I have been a huge fan of Nicholas Sparks since I first read one of his novels years ago。 He is masterful in his craft and tells an emotional and poignant story。 I preferred Beverley’s story most of all though。 It hooked my heart and motherly feelings。 However, I did worry how these two such different threads could merge together。 That being said I really enjoyed the twist in the story that made everything obvious。 This is not amongst my favourites of his novels, but I was absorbed with the story none the less。 His characterisations are wonderful, and this alone makes his storytelling worth reading。 I received this book through my membership of NetGalley and from publisher Sphere in return for an honest review。 Thank you for my copy。 I recommend this novel as a good and pleasurable read, awarding it 4 sparkling stars ****, bright and spellbinding。 。。。more

***I received an ARC from Net Galley in exchange for my honest reviewThis book is told in the alternating voices of Colby Mills, who once had dreams of being a musician but now is a farmer who enjoys playing his songs more as a hobby than anything else, and Beverly, who is on the run from her abusive husband, The two storylines converge in a way you will never see coming。 This book isn't just your typical romance novel, as half of the book is devoted to Beverly's story, of her constant paranoia ***I received an ARC from Net Galley in exchange for my honest reviewThis book is told in the alternating voices of Colby Mills, who once had dreams of being a musician but now is a farmer who enjoys playing his songs more as a hobby than anything else, and Beverly, who is on the run from her abusive husband, The two storylines converge in a way you will never see coming。 This book isn't just your typical romance novel, as half of the book is devoted to Beverly's story, of her constant paranoia that her husband has caught up with her and their son。 You don't know if her husband really has discovered where they are, or if she is an unreliable narrator。 Colby's story is more of the typical type of story we have come to expect from this author。 I really enjoyed the contrast, and wondering how exactly the stories were going to tie in。 I would love to see more books like this from this author。 。。。more
