I loved this book period end of story。 I very rarely give romance books a five stars but this is the exception to the rule （and what I will compare all future romance books too）。 Fake marriage， acts of service， grumpy sunshine it was all gold。 I also cant stand when FMC's are super clumsy and need the man in there life to stabilize them constantly and this had such a good balance for that。 I hate in romance books when the MC's are constantly apart and just contemplating everything in there heads I loved this book period end of story。 I very rarely give romance books a five stars but this is the exception to the rule （and what I will compare all future romance books too）。 Fake marriage， acts of service， grumpy sunshine it was all gold。 I also cant stand when FMC's are super clumsy and need the man in there life to stabilize them constantly and this had such a good balance for that。 I hate in romance books when the MC's are constantly apart and just contemplating everything in there heads， this is opposite。 They are together in most scenes great banter， excellent chemistry， it is 3rd act conflict but I appreciate how quickly and thoroughly it is solved。 。。。more

Good concept， poor executionThis book has some of my favourite tropes， marriage of convenience， forced proximity， and my personal favourite， grumpy vs。 sunshine。 It had so much potential: Jack being the broody MMC who always frowns， and is secretly （obsessively） in love with the sunshine baker FMC， Rose。 （Maybe a Nick and Jess situation from New Girl - how I pictured it， anyway。）But that’s honestly where it stops for me。 The dialogue is way too long， and super cringe-worthy most of the time。 Thi Good concept， poor executionThis book has some of my favourite tropes， marriage of convenience， forced proximity， and my personal favourite， grumpy vs。 sunshine。 It had so much potential: Jack being the broody MMC who always frowns， and is secretly （obsessively） in love with the sunshine baker FMC， Rose。 （Maybe a Nick and Jess situation from New Girl - how I pictured it， anyway。）But that’s honestly where it stops for me。 The dialogue is way too long， and super cringe-worthy most of the time。 This book was too long， and that’s saying something coming from me。 I love a long ass book - when the writing is good。 Not the case for this one。 The writing does a lot of telling， and not nearly enough showing。 DIalogue contained a lot of information that felt pointless to me。 Also， the amount of paragraphs that consisted of back and forth repetition between characters was absolutely unbearable。Rose is annoying， and Jack just feels straight up mean。 The characters fall flat and their chemistry is lacking to me。 I wasn’t convinced。 The big ending- love confession and all that jazz was so disappointing。 The confessions didn’t have enough: “I will die if I can’t have you” and “I will kill anyone who looks at you。” （Maybe I have been reading too much dark romance） It is just hard to believe these characters end up together。 So all in all， I skimmed most of the book - and was very disappointed。 I would have DNF， but I was somehow convinced it was going to get better - my mistake。 This book isn’t for me unfortunately。 。。。more

for being a 500 page book， it was decently a quick read！ i like that both characters， despite being so vastly different， were able to remain themselves in the relationship。 i feel like some plot lines were left unfinished and that she definitely rushed their reunion after the inevitable “3rd act breakup”。 tbh the big reveal about why jack got married was very underwhelming， but still a good book nonetheless。 3。5/5⭐️
