This encyclopedia is like a highly enhanced version of high school science classes plus some more theories and explanations that are -personally- new to me。Illustrations are elegant and I loved that subjects followed a historical timeline， for me this always adds order to my view of things。P。S: It is either authors are partial to physics or it might be just me struggling to get my head around it that I imagined it took too much space。

The book was filled with facts。 It took me 2 months to finish the audio book （~15 hours）。 It includes all important stories and figures from physics and chemistry but it ignores all humanities！ There was only a few pages covering mathematics， medicine， biology， computer science etc。 But still very informative。

The early pages are fascinating and it’s enjoyable to hear how science slowly became accepted。 Towards the end the concepts become deeper and at times hard to follow。 Overall， helpful and I recommend。 🧬🧫🧪

Great variety of short text and diagrams of basic chemistry， physics， biology， and geology and the men and women who uncovered it through observation and experimentation。 The last thirty years kind of lost me （quarks and Gaia and black holes and string theory）， but I loved the rest。 Suitable for a smart and curious 12 year old （or 59 year old）， I would think。

A much-needed introductory read on the developmental history of science。 Level of engagement ebbs and flows， depending on the subject matter。 Overall， a very handy book if a systematic comb-through of science is desired。 It can get really dry at places if you are not a hardcore fan of subjects like particle physics or hybridisation of molecule orbitals， in which case will power may benefit。
