Summary

This book doesn’t take itself too seriously - campy and fun。

3。75 stars rounded up。 I enjoyed this book! My suspicions were everywhere but I wasn’t able to fully predict the final outcome。 I love paranormal movies but don’t read much in this genre, so it took some adjusting to get used to。 I mainly read thrillers in more of a realistic setting, so I had to keep reminding myself to just go along for the ride and not obsess over impossibilities。 The pictures made this book really unique。 I was eager to keep reading and get to the next set of pictures。 I lov 3。75 stars rounded up。 I enjoyed this book! I enjoyed this book。 I truly liked Mallory, a recovering drug addict。 She was strong, determined to never fall back into drugs and, so rarely anymore, she's a Christian。 Not a beat you over the head type but just certain of her Faith。 I appreciated it。 Most books these days make such a point to be anti-Christian which is certainly their right but there are a lot of Christians in this country 。I'm not asking for a fight。 My views are mine。 Anyway, the mystery was a great one。 There was some paran I enjoyed this book。 I truly liked Mallory, a recovering drug addict。 She was strong, determined to never fall back into drugs and, so rarely anymore, she's a Christian。 Not a beat you over the head type but just certain of her Faith。 I appreciated it。 Most books these days make such a point to be anti-Christian which is certainly their right but there are a lot of Christians in this country 。I'm not asking for a fight。 My views are mine。 Anyway, the mystery was a great one。 There was some paranormal but not a very frightening one。 It ended well and everything was wrapped up nicely。 The middle was a bit slow but hang in, it gets going with a bang toward the last quarter of the book。 Fast read。 Would recommend。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 I liked the beginning of this book, but the twist—umm。 It literally reads like a MAGA/Q-Anon conspiracy。Liberal New York elites kidnap and traffic a European girl and force the kid to live as a boy in the suburbs。 When the nanny notices, they tell her he’s transgender。 The villains don’t allow religion or superstition in their household and “only teach science”。 Ultimately the religious nanny saves the day and the kid goes back to wearing dresses because they were really a girl all along。 There I liked the beginning of this book, but the twist—umm。 It literally reads like a MAGA/Q-Anon conspiracy。Liberal New York elites kidnap and traffic a European girl and force the kid to live as a boy in the suburbs。 When the nanny notices, they tell her he’s transgender。 The villains don’t allow religion or superstition in their household and “only teach science”。 Ultimately the religious nanny saves the day and the kid goes back to wearing dresses because they were really a girl all along。 There is even a mention of JK Rowling at the end when the nanny decides to write her story。 Wtf is this?? 。。。more

This book is one of the most unusual one I have read this year。 As I was told you need to have a book, because the pictures are an important component。 Mallory Quinn is a recovering addict who is placed in the Maxwell's home as a nanny for their young son Teddy。 She works very hard at making the maxwell's appreciate her but strange things start happening teddy loves to draw and as time passed they became disturbing because he didn't draw them, his imaginary friend Anya did。 The story is so intri This book is one of the most unusual one I have read this year。 As I was told you need to have a book, because the pictures are an important component。 Mallory Quinn is a recovering addict who is placed in the Maxwell's home as a nanny for their young son Teddy。 She works very hard at making the maxwell's appreciate her but strange things start happening teddy loves to draw and as time passed they became disturbing because he didn't draw them, his imaginary friend Anya did。 The story is so intriguing that I found it hard to put down。 I highly recommend it。 。。。more

Twisty and turny, this one sends you down a rollercoaster。 The pictures really added to the element of spookiness。 The ending wasn't as thrilling as I was expecting from all the reviews。 It seemed to fall a bit flat。 Definately worth reading picking up especially around Halloween。 Twisty and turny, this one sends you down a rollercoaster。 The pictures really added to the element of spookiness。 The ending wasn't as thrilling as I was expecting from all the reviews。 It seemed to fall a bit flat。 Definately worth reading picking up especially around Halloween。 。。。more

Well this book was a wild ride! Love a good mystery thriller and this one does not disappoint。 There were some twists at the end that had me pretty shocked。。。some of those I absolutely did NOT see coming and from an avid horror reader, I love that。 First book I've read from Jason Rekulak and I'll have to check out some more。 Well this book was a wild ride! Mallory is a recovered drug addict trying to get on her feet! She gets this opportunity to be a live in nanny for Teddy and his wonderful parents & don’t forget Teddy’s imaginary friend Anya 😭 This book reeled me in from the start! I think the visuals throughout the book really helped the eerie presence of the the plot。 I kept wondering what was next and I really like Mallory’s character。 Murder mystery with a pinch of horror is def my vibe。 I’m looking forward to more books with this outline, b Mallory is a recovered drug addict trying to get on her feet! Ok so, the plot was a fun read。I guess I’m just left a bit confused about the author’s political leanings。 There is a bit that comes off as transphobic。 Also, some low key fat phobia。 Idk what to think。 I need to ruminate a bit more

"A perfect summer thriller" should have steered me away。 I can't stand a book about an addict written by an author who has clearly never been there。 Red herrings all day。 Predictable。 Terrible love story。The drawings were cool and really the only hook and only thing that gets this 3 stars instead of 2。That being said I finished this in two sittings and parts of it will stick with me。 I guess it's worth a read even if it kinda pissed me off。 "A perfect summer thriller" should have steered me away。 I can't stand a book about an addict written by an author who has clearly never been there。 Red herrings all day。 Predictable。 Terrible love story。The drawings were cool and really the only hook and only thing that gets this 3 stars instead of 2。That being said I finished this in two sittings and parts of it will stick with me。 I guess it's worth a read even if it kinda pissed me off。 。。。more

What the fuck did I just read? I’m torn between rating this 1 star, or 5 stars… but it was basically an adult picture book half the time so 5 stars。
