This is a good book to read in order to show students the behaviors and attitude that are not desired in the classroom。 But to also show that people can have a positive change and that when they recognized they are having a behavior that is undesired that they can fix it。

I liked the art style, but I was not a big fan of the story。 I think the intended themes seemed nice enough, but they were muddled by some pretty harmful messages。

This seed is the cutest darn thing- even though he is an admittedly baaaaaad seed。 What kid doesn’t secretly want to be bad? The seed starts out talking tough, like he’s living the dream。 Yeah, he’s a TOUGH guy- he doesn't wash his hands or feet, he doesn’t say please or thank you, etc。 He lists things that all kids can identify with。 But this seed admits he is all alone without any friends and he would like to try to be good。 How can the bad seed work on becoming a good seed? And most importantly , will my little grand-seed try harder to be a bad seed, because like I said this bad seed is so darn cute and tough in a James Bean kind of way。 (I rated this a 4 star instead of 5 because 1。 Do we really want our kids to think they are “bad” if they don’t do certain things。 The book does address this in a sentence。 2。 Some social behavior is in the “bad” category”。 I have always been a people watcher, though the book calls it “staring”- potato, pot(ah)to。 I do not know why this should be labeled as bad。 )All in all, a fun book。 Will update you on status of “badness” of my grand-bean。 。。。more

My favorite line in this book -- I was lost on purpose。 I think so many children can relate to this seed and what happens to him。Plus, the interiority is a great lesson for picture book writers!

This story is precious。 The author, Jory John is able to combine child-appropriate humor with an overall lesson to learn from the story。 The entire series is great and highly recommended for all ages and would be great to use within the classroom。 The overall lesson here is that despite what you may have gone through it is ultimately up to yourself to determine good from bad。 It is your own decision to how you act, how you treat others and the loved ones around you。 Within a classroom setting th This story is precious。 The author, Jory John is able to combine child-appropriate humor with an overall lesson to learn from the story。 The entire series is great and highly recommended for all ages and would be great to use within the classroom。 The overall lesson here is that despite what you may have gone through it is ultimately up to yourself to determine good from bad。 It is your own decision to how you act, how you treat others and the loved ones around you。 Within a classroom setting this can be used to teach kids about resilience and perseverance。 It also shows that people can change, someone who has been misinterpreted or interpreted as bad can become good。 This is a foundational way to introduce ethics and social change to children。 The author gives many opportunities for a fun and interactive read aloud session。 He uses the sounds of noises, alliteration, repetition, and emotional reactions to keep the readers enticed。 I gave this book five stars because it has humor, great illustrations to go along and the fun interactive abilities for reading out loud。 Whether the teacher or students read this out loud it will sure be a fun experience for both。 。。。more

The Bad Seed by Jory John is a story about a sunflower seed that has decided it is bad。The book begins to list all of the ways this seed is bad and what had led it to be bad in the first place。 The sunflower seed wants to make a change。 They want to be good even if it is hard after being bad。 The seed learned that there might be slip ups and bad things can happen, but that does not mean that you should stop trying to be good, it just means that you need to try your best。This book would be great The Bad Seed by Jory John is a story about a sunflower seed that has decided it is bad。The book begins to list all of the ways this seed is bad and what had led it to be bad in the first place。 The sunflower seed wants to make a change。 They want to be good even if it is hard after being bad。 The seed learned that there might be slip ups and bad things can happen, but that does not mean that you should stop trying to be good, it just means that you need to try your best。This book would be great in a classroom for teachers that have students displaying undesirable behavior。 This book shows that even if you do bad things at times, there is always a chance to change your behavior and be a good seed。 There are examples towards the end of the book of actions that can be done that are favorable in the classroom that the students can use。 。。。more

This is the story of a seed who has a bad reputation because of the tough life experiences he’s had。 He wants to change and be a good seed now, but sometimes getting out of bad habits can be hard to do!

Charlene

This is the first of six。 Reading them for free in Prime reading。 Not sure the message at the beginning is good for kids。 A sunflower seeds is bad because it had a portrayed bad life。 But, the bad seed turns around and becomes good。 Hence, the next book in the series is called the good seed

If you told me I would be listening to an audiobook of a children's book about a seed at 12:30 am, the other day, I would not have believed you。 If you told me I would be listening to an audiobook of a children's book about a seed at 12:30 am, the other day, I would not have believed you。 。。。more
