I had hoped this would be a bit more of a beginners set， with help for children to sound out the words。 These are very nice， easy starter books， but I don't feel they actually stress the phonics of the words much at all。 My 3 year old loves them， if only because they feature her current favorite characters， but we will use them in conjunction with "Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Days" I had hoped this would be a bit more of a beginners set， with help for children to sound out the words。 These are very nice， easy starter books， but I don't feel they actually stress the phonics of the words much at all。 My 3 year old loves them， if only because they feature her current favorite characters， but we will use them in conjunction with "Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Days" 。。。more

In my house we have tried multiple phonics box sets。 My little boy loves PAW Patrol and it makes this box set iconic for him in a way that brings joy to him when he reads。 As a parent though， I appreciate this box set because it has easier words and pictures that link with the content。 Some of the box sets， like the Superman box set for phonics， have hard proper nouns that can make a child uncomfortable in reading and lose confidence。 However， in conjunction with the easy sayings from the show l In my house we have tried multiple phonics box sets。 My little boy loves PAW Patrol and it makes this box set iconic for him in a way that brings joy to him when he reads。 As a parent though， I appreciate this box set because it has easier words and pictures that link with the content。 Some of the box sets， like the Superman box set for phonics， have hard proper nouns that can make a child uncomfortable in reading and lose confidence。 However， in conjunction with the easy sayings from the show like "Ready， set， get wet，" this book has not only easy to read names， but sayings the children can identify with and read on site because of their memory and affiliation with the show。 This box gave my child confidence to read in independently and helped build his joy in reading knowing that he can learn on his own about things he sees on TV and toys that he has。 I highly recommend this set as a early childhood starter kit because it has iconic characters， nice images and easy to handle proper nouns。 。。。more
