It's rare I enjoy a second book more than the first, but this book is the exception。 From start to finish there was action, intrigue, and a whole lot of sexy angst。 It's rare I enjoy a second book more than the first, but this book is the exception。 From start to finish there was action, intrigue, and a whole lot of sexy angst。 。。。more

I really enjoyed this one more than the first。 Definitely spicier! 🥵The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is I felt like the ending was a bit rushed and feel like I have a bit of whiplash with what happened 😂But I really enjoyed it and I can't wait to find out what happens in the next book! The author got in her own way with the internal monologues as Emilia works through her mystery。 Spicier than the first, but the spice’s emotional/tension scale seems to tip down rather than up over the course of the book。 I found myself walking away for breaks due to impatience and/or confusion。 The opulence of the world is the only thing keeping me tethered to finish the trilogy (eventually)。

3。5 🌟 This book is ADDICTING, I could not stop reading it。 But I don't know how I feel about this book。 It was so different from the first book and I loved some aspects and was annoyed by the others。First of all, the new setting of hell was interesting, I wish he had explored more of it。 This book is mostly focused on the relationship between Wrath and Emilia。 So there's not much of a plot。 The side characters had no purpose or life outside of assisting emilia。 The build-up towards the reveals w 3。5 🌟 This book is ADDICTING, I could not stop reading it。 But I don't know how I feel about this book。 It was so different from the first book and I loved some aspects and was annoyed by the others。First of all, the new setting of hell was interesting, I wish he had explored more of it。 This book is mostly focused on the relationship between Wrath and Emilia。 So there's not much of a plot。 The side characters had no purpose or life outside of assisting emilia。 The build-up towards the reveals was weak and things felt too easy for Emilia。 Wrath felt like a completely different person Sometimes he did feel like Wrath from KOTC but other times he was just Rhysand 2。0。 I wish he could see more of his sinister side rather than us being told about it many times。 The other princes felt dull and unlike "the wicked princes of hell" she was always warned against。 I was only intrigued by pride a little。 But gluttony, lust, greed were boring。 Envy did manage to hold some of my interest。 Sloth was non existent。 Emilia annoyed me。 She kept going on about how she was a badass now and she'll out maneuver everyone but went on to make the most dumb decisions she possibly could。 I also was sure of the two "big" twists we get to see in the book so those didn't do much for me。 Despite everything, I did really like the book and I just wanted to abandon everything and read it。 I loved the tension between Wrath and Emilia, their scenes were perfect and I was not expecting to enjoy this aspect of the book much。 Again, it felt like a very entertaining bridge book where nothing much happened but is the perfect setup for the next book。 I'll admit that I'm confused about everything going on but I feel like last book is going to be great and I can't wait to read it! Edit: I forgot about the most disturbing part of the book。 The first training session between Wrath and Emilia。 It made me so uncomfortable and I don't understand how it was considered okay? Wrath kept on going about how she always has choice (anyone remember Rhysand and the drugged faerie wine? Yes, exactly that) but still did what he compelled her to do。 It was unnecessary。 I understand how it made Emilia realize the importance of training but it could have been executed differently。 Anyways, I'm just going to pretend the chapter didn't happen。 。。。more

What did I read!? That was incredible。 I kept trying to guess what was going to happen and nothing could prepare me for that ending。 It was so good! Cannot wait for Kingdom of the Feared!!!

This ending was criminal。 😭

This book was somehow worse than the first one in the series。 It was full of contradictions and the conflict feels entirely contrived。 Also, magicked is a lazy verb。

❤️ 。。。more

I have been captured by this series。As usual, the cliffhanger in this book is tortuous and the fact I have to wait for the next book 🫠 This is a perfect balance of fantasy, mystery, romance, and a sprinkle of spice! 。。。more

I really enjoyed this book! It is a fast-paced fantasy/paranormal romance book that is set in Italy。 I am always into reading books about witches and demons and this one did not disappoint。 I love the plot。 And I love Emilia and Wrath, their banter is amazing。 If you need a series to read after reading an emotionally traumatizing series (Throne of Glass) this is a good series to read!

I really enjoyed this book, it was a lot more fast paced than the first。 I enjoyed the new world building and the new characters you get to meet。 I loved all the new secrets and riddles that made absolutely no sense to me。 I was very happy with the ending and I cannot wait for the next book to be released。

Because almost no plot progress was made through the book, everything keeps going in circles。 Based off the ending I guarantee that the third book will open with a spice scene for no reason other than to waste time and to please fans of adult dark romance。 Thankfully the worldbuilding is intriguing and the characters are interesting, (Even if Wrath is the exact same character as Castel just being less of a creep)。 But this is overshadowed by the lacklustre romance and dead-end plot。 。。。more

4。5/5This book was definitely better than the first。 It had a more NA feel to it and from the beginning I felt like it was a more developed book compared to the first。 I really enjoyed how the plot uncovered and whilst it was slow paced it worked REALLY well for this book。 The tension was chefs kissAfter the way it ended I’m dying to read the 3rd book and I’m so glad I didn’t read this book last year!I’m very much looking forward to the release of Kingdom of the Feared this month!!
