Rivstart är en enspråkig nybörjarkurs i svenska som främmande språk och vänder sig till språkinlärare i och utanför Sverige。 Kursen har en relativt snabb progression och är tänkt för deltagare som kan förväntas ha en snabb inlärningstakt。
Rivstart uppmuntrar deltagarna att själva lista ut språkliga mönster och grammatiska regler。 De lockas att bli aktiva språkinlärare också utanför klassrummet。
I Rivstart används nya tempusbeteckningar som är klara och intuitiva för både lärare och elever。 Nu-systemets tempus heter presens perfekt （har talat）， presens （talar） och presens futurum （ska tala）。 Då-systemets tempus heter preteritum perfekt （hade talat）， preteritum （talade） och preteritum futurum （skulle tala）。 På detta sätt blir det tydligt att svenska har två tempussystem och namnen indikerar också hur de bildas。 Systemet är hämtat från Svenska Akademiens grammatik där det dock inte implementerats。 Rivstart är det första läromedel där dessa tempusbeteckningar används。
Teman och språkfunktioner bygger på nivåbeskrivningarna i Europarådets nivåskala （CEFR）。 Del 1 täcker nivå A1+A2。 Del 2 kommer att omfatta nivå B1。

I learnt Swedish Language way much faster with this book。 I only learnt the language intensively within a year at the university， using all the Rivstart books （A1+A2， B1+B2， B2+C1） as the main guide。 I graduated from the language programme on-time and ended up having the language skills in the C1 （advanced） level of the European standard。 During the last few months of the programme， I was also offered a full-time job within healthcare in Sweden （which is my main background）。But please note， not I learnt Swedish Language way much faster with this book。 I only learnt the language intensively within a year at the university， using all the Rivstart books （A1+A2， B1+B2， B2+C1） as the main guide。 I graduated from the language programme on-time and ended up having the language skills in the C1 （advanced） level of the European standard。 During the last few months of the programme， I was also offered a full-time job within healthcare in Sweden （which is my main background）。But please note， not even half of the students from the programme passed the middle part of the course。 More than 50% of the students had to drop out because they didn't pass the exams。 This shows that there are many factors that can contribute to one's language learning process。For me， Rivstart books helped a lot。 I think it's because I'm one of those people who can't learn a new language properly without the full understanding of the grammar first。 There are other people who can learn the language without having a good understanding of grammar because they learn faster by speaking， so perhaps a language cafe is a better option for these people。In my case， I never joined any language cafe。 I only practised Swedish during the class with my classmates， and also only the night before every oral exam with my Swedish wife。 So you should find what works the best for you and stick to it。 Don't let anyone else dictate what you should do。 You're the one who knows which learning method works the best for you。 。。。more

Rivstart är mitt första försök att lära mig Svenska。 Jag deltog inte i en kurs i Svenska: när jag bodde i Sverige， fanns det inte kurser。 Staden var för mycket små och det fanns inte nog främlingar som ville lära sig språket。Jag lärde mig när jag hemma var och jag hade bara den här boken och Teach Yourself Complete Swedish。 Rivstart är en bok att använda i klassrummet: det har många övningar som behöver andra studenter att prata med varandra。 Jag var alltid ensam。 :-（Jag gillar de där övningar m Rivstart är mitt första försök att lära mig Svenska。 Jag deltog inte i en kurs i Svenska: när jag bodde i Sverige， fanns det inte kurser。 Staden var för mycket små och det fanns inte nog främlingar som ville lära sig språket。Jag lärde mig när jag hemma var och jag hade bara den här boken och Teach Yourself Complete Swedish。 Rivstart är en bok att använda i klassrummet: det har många övningar som behöver andra studenter att prata med varandra。 Jag var alltid ensam。 :-（Jag gillar de där övningar med prepositioner。 Jag tror de var mycket användbar， eftersom prepositionerna är alltid en av hårdast saken att lära sig。 Också övningar over hörförståelse är mycket bra。Jag är glad att jag användande Rivstart。 。。。more
