Summary

Evil always seeks a foothold。 We must not give it one。

The electrifying conclusion to the New York Times and Indiebound bestselling Serpent & Dove trilogy is perfect for fans of Sarah J。 Maas and Kendare Blake。

Lou has spent her whole life running。 Now, after a crushing blow from Morgane, the time has come to go home--and claim what is rightfully hers。

But this is no longer the Lou her friends knew。 No longer the Lou who captured a chasseur's heart。 A darkness has settled over her, and this time it will take more than love to drive it out。

From Serpent & Dove to Blood & Honey and concluding with Gods & Monsters, Shelby Mahurin's stunning fantasy trilogy delivers thrills and romance。

Morgane is probably one of the most best villains I have ever read about。 She is brutal, cunning, and absolutely evil。 I love it。 The plot is great, the writing is good but idk。 I can easily see this series being 5 stars but I just didn’t LOVE the characters。 I liked them but I didn’t necessarily care that much。 I’m not sure if I just read this series at a bad time or what。 Great banter, great side characters。 I do recommend reading this series because I do believe it’s good…。 Just not great。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 After being invested in this story for over a YEAR, I finally got the conclusion to this story of witch and witch hunter, destined to burn together for ever。 The beginning of the book with Lou possessed with Nicholina was really interesting。 It was cool to see how Nicholina thought Lou would act around the others, and see Reid become more and more confused because he knows it's not Lou because they are SOULMATES。 The part where Coco finally fully broke after finding out about Lou and talking abo After being invested in this story for over a YEAR, I finally got the conclusion to this story of witch and witch hunter, destined to burn together for ever。 The beginning of the book with Lou possessed with Nicholina was really interesting。 It was cool to see how Nicholina thought Lou would act around the others, and see Reid become more and more confused because he knows it's not Lou because they are SOULMATES。 The part where Coco finally fully broke after finding out about Lou and talking about hope actually made me cry。 I absolutely LOVE Coco and seeing her finally admit how broken she is made me absolutely WEEP。 Also, her mother being revealed as Angelica was pretty cool, and furthers my thought that most parents in these books SUCK。 If there was one character I didn't expect to really grow on during this book it was Celie。 When she showed up, I was a little bit less than pleased, and thought she would be the most annoying person ever and a massive pushover。 But I was completely WRONG。 I ended up LOVING her character, and I loved how she didn't let Reid stand in her way, and really asserted herself as a character。 Beau is always a favourite, being his usual cocky sense no matter what happens, even certain death。 I really wanted to see where Beau's and Coco's relationship would go, because they clearly had some massive chemistry going on there, and it felt very unresolved。 Lou and Nicholina's in the waters was so cool, watching them going through the memories and trying to hurt each other WITHOUT hurting each other was cool。 And the part with Ansel made me CRY。 HARD。 Knowing he was the white dog all along, watching them all HURT ME。 SO BAD。 ANSEL I MISS YOU。 And just after I had gotten over THAT heartbreak, Reid did an absolutely STUPID SUTPID thing and FORGOT LOU。 WHY REID。 WHY。 Listen I know that a lot is at stake but this is your WIFE。 Seeing Lou's absolute heartbreak and sadness at Reid's memory and hate made me so so so SAD。 Even seeing her try to seduce him made me sad, because he just absolutely hate her, and I was just screaming REID。 THAT'S YOUR WIFE。 PLEASE STOP THIS。 And even when he finally admitted he loved her in some way, he STILL didn't have their memories。 The whole sequence in the cage made me so heartbroken。 They were so grief stricken and heartbroken and trying to save each other at the stake。 When they escaped and started to fight Morgane I was so bloody happy。 And seeing Zenna as a bloody DRAGON was so cool, and the whole supporting cast fighting back made me very happy。 I wasn't really sad about Angelica and Nicholina's deaths, but it was a self sacrifice which made me feel a bit better。 And then finally, FINALLY Morgane died at Lou's hands。 YES。 BYE。 And Celie even had a high in it, which makes me very happy。 Jean Luc is also a character I never thought I would actually sort of like, but he definitely had a redemption arc at the end of the book and him and Celie were quite cute。 Madame Labelle also finally got out of prison and and Augsute DIED so this is proof that Madame Labelle is the BEST parent out of the entire series。 And Reid telling her he loves her made me smile so wide。 I also love the ending Celie got ; she would make a BRILLIANT Chassuer。 The epilogue from Ansel's pov。。。wow。 Just WHY SHELBY MAURIN。 And god, the entire cast is just so CUTE。 The entire wedding scene was just SO ADORBALE and I'm so happy everyone got their happy ending, including Ansel。 This feels like a series that will probably spawn a spin off, probably about Coco and Beau。 Will I read it? Probably。 As long as no one DIES。 Excited to read my first EVER horror book next。 Let's see how I get on。 。。。more

What the heck happened? I was so nervous to read the series with all the mixed reviews but totally got my hopes up because I loved the first two books。 What happened with this book?I would give a description but I honestly have no idea what the purpose of the book was。 I mean I know they were trying to kill her but other than that what was the goal of the book? It made me so uncomfy。 Overall I thought it was pretty anticlimactic。 Things happened but none of it was very exciting。 It was just okay that happened now moving on。 Not a fan of this one at all。 I did really enjoy the first two though! 。。。more

。。。more

How is Beau as King and is anything changing in the capital? What happened to Devereaux? Why was Lou blessed and what does that mean? What are the Old Laws? Some of the wandering around Could have been cut out to give us a better ending and more answers。I did cry with Ansel following as a familiar (also what happened to her other familiars they just disappeared)。Ansel as a ghost watching all his friends be happy was so sad。Anyway, this series is a roller coaster。 Book one is still the best of the bunch。 You can tell this was meant to be a duology but stretched unnecessarily when it became popular and it does the story a disservice。 Also making Celie into a main character was annoying。 She has no personality and she suddenly jumps from one version or herself to a new and better one in little time and it doesn’t make sense。 She shouldn’t have been included in book two or this one。 Apparently a spin-off about her is planned and I have zero interest in it。 。。。more
