A very cute book that was surprisingly informative about the process of making biryani。 Fun and lighthearted with lovely art。

Charming read。 Great illustrations。I had never heard of biryani but now I want to try it there is the recipe on the last page or, rather a link to a recipe。 I think I will try to find it first in an Indian restaurant。 It sounds delicious。 The illustrations are lovely。

Anni from India loves her uncle's biryani, a special rice dish he makes in his cafe。 She wheedles and coaxes information from him about his recipe until she is ready to try it。 It's pretty good but not perfect。 She gets discouraged, but eventually 。。。 no more spoilers Anni from India loves her uncle's biryani, a special rice dish he makes in his cafe。 She wheedles and coaxes information from him about his recipe until she is ready to try it。 It's pretty good but not perfect。 She gets discouraged, but eventually 。。。 no more spoilers 。。。more

ANNI DREAMS OF BIRYANI is about Anni who loves to cook and loves the famous world's best biryani cooked at the cafe across the street even more。 Week by week she gets pieces of the recipe from the chef called Uncle until she attempts to make her own。 Anni is a main character full of spunk and she is brought to life with quick, snappy text and bright illustrations。 I'm obsessed with the rich, expressive illustrations in this new picture book。 Together with the words, Anni's story and her lively L ANNI DREAMS OF BIRYANI is about Anni who loves to cook and loves the famous world's best biryani cooked at the cafe across the street even more。 Week by week she gets pieces of the recipe from the chef called Uncle until she attempts to make her own。 Anni is a main character full of spunk and she is brought to life with quick, snappy text and bright illustrations。 I'm obsessed with the rich, expressive illustrations in this new picture book。 Together with the words, Anni's story and her lively Little India neighborhood burst from the pages in a way that almost makes you believe you can taste the delicious biryani。 。。。more

A cute book。This is my pick for the Amazon First Reads for August。

A beautifully illustrated book about a young girl who wants to learn how to make the most delicious biryani。 Wish it would have been longer。

Fun and adorable kids book。 My only snag is that I wish it had included the recipe (with secret ingredient!) for Uncle's biryani。 🙂 or at least a recipe for biryani rather than a web link to one。 Considering Anni's age, a kid-friendly recipe for biryani that readers can make (with / under the supervision of the adults in their lives) would've been so cool。https://literarytreats。com/2022/08/06。。。 Fun and adorable kids book。 My only snag is that I wish it had included the recipe (with secret ingredient!) for Uncle's biryani。 🙂 or at least a recipe for biryani rather than a web link to one。 Considering Anni's age, a kid-friendly recipe for biryani that readers can make (with / under the supervision of the adults in their lives) would've been so cool。https://literarytreats。com/2022/08/06。。。 。。。more

This book will make anyone dream of Biryani! It will also interest kids with the secret job Anni gives herself and the interaction with Uncle gives just the right amount of conflict for younger audiences。 It would be fun to read this book in a lower level class and then cook Biryani with them!

Sweet ReadI really enjoyed this beautiful story of family, the sacred preparation and sharing of food, community, & determination。 It shows a full spectrum process of reaching genuine goals, with a wholesome story to go with it。 My heart is warm after reading this and all of a sudden I have a craving for a food that I've yet to try- biryani! This is a beautiful book with immaculate illustrations and a nice page at the end giving information on biryani with a link to a recipe。 I do wish there was another page at the end of her making the recipe given to her though。 Maybe it was just wanting more pages filled with the details and colors of the pictures。 The only other thing is that on one of the pages it says she threw her journal in a drawer but the picture associated with that page shows her journal on the ground next to her。 Minor This is a beautiful book with immaculate illustrations and a nice page at the end giving information on biryani with a link to a recipe。 I do wish there was another page at the end of her making the recipe given to her though。 Maybe it was just wanting more pages filled with the details and colors of the pictures。 The only other thing is that on one of the pages it says she threw her journal in a drawer but the picture associated with that page shows her journal on the ground next to her。 Minor and I doubt most kids would even notice。 Definitely recommend。 。。。more

Anni’s uncle makes the best biryani at his café, but he’s grumpy and keeps mum about his secret recipe。 Anni isn’t deterred and sets out to make the most scrumptious biryani。 I love a good foodie picture book, and this one delivers。 The story is adorable, the illustrations are vividly colorful, and it made me hungry。

let's discuss this one。 i loved the illustrations。 they are just breathtaking and fun!! so colorful and great。 but for me 。。。"kindle first" it was。 so being a Prime member i am able to pick 2 books that are available before they are to the public。 so, they will be available September 1st for others。 so that means i was reading on my kindle。 not a handheld (paperback or hard copy) so the pics and words cannot get any bigger which are super tiny。 u could get out the word enlarger 。。。but that is sm let's discuss this one。 i loved the illustrations。 they are just breathtaking and fun!! so colorful and great。 but for me 。。。"kindle first" it was。 so being a Prime member i am able to pick 2 books that are available before they are to the public。 so, they will be available September 1st for others。 so that means i was reading on my kindle。 not a handheld (paperback or hard copy) so the pics and words cannot get any bigger which are super tiny。 u could get out the word enlarger 。。。but that is smile。 i think kindle should allow for enlarging but i don't see a way to do so?? and i feel for kids or adults you wish to do that 。。。use their kindle instead of doing a real handheld book? u know。 i mean i can't be the only one。 that is the reasoning for lower stars。 all should be able to experience a great book。 and this is a great book。 so awesome!! just amazing!! a lot of the times folks can afford to buy kindle and other versions。 u know??! just a thought to think on。 。。。more
