Reminiscent of the legendary Canterbury Tales, The Sandman: Worlds' End is a wonderful potpourri of engrossing tales and masterful storytelling。 Improbably caught in a June blizzard, two wayward compatriots stumble upon a mysterious inn and learn that they are in the middle of a "reality storm。" Now surrounded by a menagerie of people and creatures from different times and realities, the two stranded travelers are entertained by mesmerizing myths of infamous sea creatures, dreaming cities, ancient kings, astonishing funeral rituals and moralistic hangmen。

How repetitive of me。 The best SANDMAN so far。 Again。 I love the whole structure of this one! The framing device is fun, each story is wonderfully diverse and the characters who tell them are great。 Having multiple artists doing the same issue, to visually represent the layers of stories, works really well too。 Damn。 I’m getting sad that there isn’t much SANDMAN left at this point。 もう一度、一番好きなサンドマン本。世界は楽しいと色々の話が全部違うやすごい

The ending on this one hit me like a train。 I don't know precisely why, but it's heartbreakingly beautiful。 The ending on this one hit me like a train。 I don't know precisely why, but it's heartbreakingly beautiful。 。。。more

It feels so weird that the Sandman is nearly over。 It feels like a week ago I just started it (not rlly)。 But anyways, if the last 2 arcs are anything close to the Sandman’s highs, then this might be my favorite piece of fiction。 As for this arc, it’s the worst so far and I don’t doubt it will rise in the rankings。 It’s still great tho。Low 9。1

World's End was a great concept and had a few good stories, but I think a few of them fell short。 Overall, I loved the framing device of World's End and was deeply moved by the ending。 The "World's End" Inn was a place of waiting and storytelling while a storm passes。 Some of the stories told were really great。 "Hob's Leviathan" was fun (I always enjoy Hob-focused storylines) and "Cerements" was creepy, yet wove an interesting story through burial techniques from around the world over time。 The World's End was a great concept and had a few good stories, but I think a few of them fell short。 Overall, I loved the framing device of World's End and was deeply moved by the ending。 The "World's End" Inn was a place of waiting and storytelling while a storm passes。 Some of the stories told were really great。 "Hob's Leviathan" was fun (I always enjoy Hob-focused storylines) and "Cerements" was creepy, yet wove an interesting story through burial techniques from around the world over time。 The remaining stories were OK, but nothing super memorable。 I did really love the way everything tied together in the end (and I think the artwork was particularly noteworthy at the end)。 Overall, a few decent stories, a few absolute gems, and a great way to tie the stories together。 。。。more

Ciekawy koncept, fajne jest opowiadanie historii wewnątrz historii, która jest w środku historii 🙈Lubię chyba najbardziej tę o Prezie。 Reszta okej, ale pojedyncze historie pewne raczej mi się zleją 🤷

Not a strong connection to Dream or the other members of his family。 I enjoyed the similarities to The Canterbury Tales。 Some stories were better than others。

“Is there any person in the world who does not dream? Who does not contain within them worlds unimagined?”One of Gaiman's tendencies is pretty akin to Sorkin, though that is where any similarities between the two writers stall。 But both lean towards the fascination of stamping a theme into a story with such brute force that it is hard not to grow somewhat annoyed by it。 While Sorkin does this more often, Gaiman falls victim to it occasionally, as shown here with the story-within-a-story motif he “Is there any person in the world who does not dream? Every year or so I manage to swing back to Sandman and dust off another volume。 I gotta be honest and say this wasn’t my favorite。 The writing and art is superb as always, but some of the chapters here were strange in ways that didn’t pay off。 I was much more intrigued by the framing device, and what it means for the last two volumes in the series。

2。5 stars, this one was unfortunately my least favourite Sandman volume up to this point。 It certainly had its good moments, but it was harder to sit through than some of the previous ones。

Ще один яскравий приклад того, як автор уміє створювати світи, які кардинально відрізняються від нашого, але від того здаються не менш справжніми。

the premise of this volume is so simply, yet so good。

Normally I don't care much for the one-shot stories that pop up in seemingly every other volume of Sandman。 But these were really entertaining for me。Thre's some sort of Inn called World's End and travelers from all times and places end up there because of reasons。And (of course) everyone tells their stories。 Not necessarily stories about themselves, just the most interesting story they have。 There's usually some vague connection to Dream in the stories but they aren't about Dream。This was (for Normally I don't care much for the one-shot stories that pop up in seemingly every other volume of Sandman。 But these were really entertaining for me。Thre's some sort of Inn called World's End and travelers from all times and places end up there because of reasons。And (of course) everyone tells their stories。 Not necessarily stories about themselves, just the most interesting story they have。 There's usually some vague connection to Dream in the stories but they aren't about Dream。This was (for me) pretty decent。 And unlike some of the other collections, this one held my interest from start to finish。 。。。more

A pretty interesting volume as it is basically just random people who get lost in a storm and all meet at a werid place called the World's End。 It reminds me a lot of the Mansion of Mysteries series which I wonder if that was the inspiration。 All of the stories are basically how these people met with Dream。 With my favorites being the dreaming city and the Prez retelling as they are both really interesting and use a lot of high level concepts like do cities dream and what it means to be a great A pretty interesting volume as it is basically just random people who get lost in a storm and all meet at a werid place called the World's End。 It reminds me a lot of the Mansion of Mysteries series which I wonder if that was the inspiration。 All of the stories are basically how these people met with Dream。 With my favorites being the dreaming city and the Prez retelling as they are both really interesting and use a lot of high level concepts like do cities dream and what it means to be a great leader。 。。。more

This is a book of stories。 Several travelers are waiting out a storm in an Inn, and tell stories to pass the time。 Some of these stories contain stories themselves, and a couple of *those* stories contain stories。This book does little to move Morpheus’ grand narrative forward。 Indeed, it contains him only fleetingly。 And while the Sandman volumes like that have mostly meant less to me than the “mainline” ones, this one I really enjoyed。 Maybe it was because I read it in one sitting。 But I enjoye This is a book of stories。 Several travelers are waiting out a storm in an Inn, and tell stories to pass the time。 Some of these stories contain stories themselves, and a couple of *those* stories contain stories。This book does little to move Morpheus’ grand narrative forward。 Indeed, it contains him only fleetingly。 And while the Sandman volumes like that have mostly meant less to me than the “mainline” ones, this one I really enjoyed。 Maybe it was because I read it in one sitting。 But I enjoyed the glimpses into these worlds, and the imagination that it grants me。 。。。more

Neil Gaiman does it again。 The universe he had created around the Sandman permeates all possible worlds and in the unlikely Inn that hosts this volume you get to see a glimpse of characters touched by Gods。 A true work of art

Similar to A Game of You, the plot lines felt like they had little impact on the overall story of The Sandman。

Enjoyed the setup of this, with everyone being stranded in an inn and having to share stories。
