Pizza and Taco are excited， because Pizza just got a new Freddy the Fire Truck backpack， and he can’t wait to show it off at school。 At school， they meet the new kid， B。L。T。， who is super-cool。 He wears sunglasses and just says “Cool” or “Whatever” all the time。 Pizza wants to hang with B。L。T。 because he’s cool， but Taco thinks B。L。T。 is kind of boring。 B。L。T。 makes fun of Pizza’s backpack， claiming that Freddy the Fire Truck is “for babies”， but Pizza is like “Whatever” and “That’s cool”。 Being Pizza and Taco are excited， because Pizza just got a new Freddy the Fire Truck backpack， and he can’t wait to show it off at school。 At school， they meet the new kid， B。L。T。， who is super-cool。 He wears sunglasses and just says “Cool” or “Whatever” all the time。 Pizza wants to hang with B。L。T。 because he’s cool， but Taco thinks B。L。T。 is kind of boring。 B。L。T。 makes fun of Pizza’s backpack， claiming that Freddy the Fire Truck is “for babies”， but Pizza is like “Whatever” and “That’s cool”。 Being cool has its disadvantages， though， like being late for class and getting detentions， and Pizza and Taco are starting to think that being cool is kinda lame。Stephen Shaskan’s “Pizza and Taco: Too Cool For School” is part of a series of middle reader graphic novels featuring two of the yummiest besties ever。 My daughter has apparently read all of the books in this series， but this is the first one I’ve read， and now I want to read all of them。 They are quite hilarious， and this one （the fourth book in the series） has a pretty poignant message about the importance of just being yourself and not trying to be something you’re not。 。。。more
