Summary

I haven't been a lover of romance books lately， much less YA romance， but I think this book just pulled me out of a slump。 It is a sugar coated easy read， predictable from the very first line but the also an impeccable case study of grief that I personally needed。Navigating conflicting parental relations while dealing with so many other issues， whether it be minor or not can get overwhelming very quickly and at a young age， people often lash out。 That was portrayed very well， was a bit annoying， I haven't been a lover of romance books lately， much less YA romance， but I think this book just pulled me out of a slump。 It is a sugar coated easy read， predictable from the very first line but the also an impeccable case study of grief that I personally needed。Navigating conflicting parental relations while dealing with so many other issues， whether it be minor or not can get overwhelming very quickly and at a young age， people often lash out。 That was portrayed very well， was a bit annoying， but believable。 Not to mention， I'm a rom com addict， so the references to the multitude of movie classics were so endearing and almost nostalgic in a sense。The only downside of this book， honestly， was the lack of development of the protagonist's friendship with her best friend。 It felt like their relationship was only talked about and never really shown until the end for a millisecond。 All in all， not a bad read。 （also the thought of her name being Elizabeth Bennet if they got married？？ Stoppppp） 。。。more

2。5 ⭐️ I want to like this book so much more than I do。 It just didn’t do anything for me。 MC was annoying， plot wasn’t anything new or interesting， and the two major typos I found were horrific。 It was an easy read， and if the aforementioned reasons I didn’t like the book weren’t in the book， I would’ve read it much faster than I did。
