We bought this set for my almost-7 year old daughter for Christmas this year。 She had already read most of the Young Amelia Bedelia books and was ready for the challenge of some chapter books。 She was in the midst of another series at the time， so she didn't start this one right away。 However， once she started it she could not put it down。 She reads it herself and we also read it together *almost* every night。 She finished book #9 in two days and now we are on book #10。 Amelia Bedelia is a great We bought this set for my almost-7 year old daughter for Christmas this year。 She had already read most of the Young Amelia Bedelia books and was ready for the challenge of some chapter books。 She was in the midst of another series at the time， so she didn't start this one right away。 However， once she started it she could not put it down。 She reads it herself and we also read it together *almost* every night。 She finished book #9 in two days and now we are on book #10。 Amelia Bedelia is a great character for kids。 She has fun， learns life lessons， has new experiences， and most of all learns silly phrases :） It is always fun to see what Amelia Bedelia *thinks* when common phrases are said， and this also helps young readers learn new vocabulary。 I feel like these books really challenge young readers to think outside the box。。。 Amelia Bedelia would probably say "what box？"Her mom and dad are also very well represented in every book as well as other characters such as her dog， her Aunt， and friends。 The books do go together but each has it's own distinct story。 It's a good idea to read them in order as certain characters are introduced and then brought back in future books。 I was so excited to see that #12 in the series was released today！ I was afraid my daughter would be out of books to read， but it looks like she still has a couple more to finish。 After， she has already told me she wants to read them all AGAIN and likely again and again。 Since they are tougher books， it will be good for her to read them again and pick up more words and more silly phrases :） Enjoy！ 。。。more
