super funny and very relatable。 made me fall more in love with my job

Very funny and a true representation of teachers

Imo - not enough stories or anecdotes from teachers other than the P's and too much life story and self-promotion of the P's。 Some funny moments but lots that I skimmed。 Imo - not enough stories or anecdotes from teachers other than the P's and too much life story and self-promotion of the P's。 Some funny moments but lots that I skimmed。 。。。more

Amusing, light read of life in the classroom。

Side splitting, hilarious, am I reading a different book。 There are so few funny stories in this, I think I laughed once, it’s mostly slagging off various agencies and government departments。 Not what I was expecting at all。 Hugely disappointing

Emma Batey

Good book with lots to think of that spans to office work too。

As a primary school teacher, this is so scarily accurate - it could be any school I've worked in, and that's what makes it so funny! We are obviously a specific 'breed'! Loved it - it's laugh out loud and 'tear-tricklingly' funny in parts, and I could hardly read some bits aloud to my headmaster husband because I was snorting with laughter- He complained one night that I was making the mattress jiggle with my laughing! Love a teacher memoir as they make me feel less alone。 This is funny and irreverent and so very true - loved the part about wall displays。 As a secondary teacher, I couldn't empathise with all of it, but it definitely did give me a feel good vibe and I'll be checking out the Two Mr Ps' pod cast! A right laugh out loud book。 Wrote by brothers, a teacher and teaching assistant。 They write about life in a primary school, it’s so funny as they talk about people whom they have worked with。 They are just like people I work with in my primary school。 Brilliant light hearted easy read。

Grace

Love these guys but the book was repetitive to the podcast

Christie

I liked the concept of this a lot but would definitely recommend to people who know next to nothing about teaching。 I also would have liked a little more structure to it。 However, the guys are obviously great at their jobs and there is very little bullshit here! :)

Put A Wet Paper Towel on It :The Weird and Wonderful World of Primary Schools is a humorous and heartwarming read which is packed full of nostalgic moments that will make you think back to your own primary school days。

Good。 Will listen to podcast now。

I did actually enjoy this。 I'm not a teacher so probably won't resonate with as much of the content as those that are but it was an easy read and made me laugh a couple of times when they talked about parent/child types are it took me back to when i was in primary school。 It isn't preachy, and they make it clear from the start that this is a collection of their own thoughts based on personal experience。 While i think its worth a listen i would recommend the podcast they do more as that obviously I did actually enjoy this。 I'm not a teacher so probably won't resonate with as much of the content as those that are but it was an easy read and made me laugh a couple of times when they talked about parent/child types are it took me back to when i was in primary school。 It isn't preachy, and they make it clear from the start that this is a collection of their own thoughts based on personal experience。 While i think its worth a listen i would recommend the podcast they do more as that obviously isn't as structure as this and the bits of the audio that clearly weren't actually part of the book felt more comfortable to listen to。 Obviously any primary teachers or TAs would enjoy this even more than us non teachers as you'll be able to relate to alot more of the content。 。。。more

3 stars feels a little harsh as I did enjoy this book however, the dialogue between the brothers didn’t translate as well to paper as it does on the podcast。 An easy holiday read, some parts very funny。

Too many of the things in this book ring painfully true every day of my life 🤦‍♀️😂

This is a book that really shows the joy of teaching。 There are some absolutely hilarious stories and characters that I recognise from my time working in a school。 This is also a book that highlights some of the glaring problems within the education system, and looks at them critically, giving options for solutions and advice。 The education system is far from perfect, but if you are parent, this book will give you a good idea what goes on behind the scenes。 It's honest, it's funny and there is s This is a book that really shows the joy of teaching。 There are some absolutely hilarious stories and characters that I recognise from my time working in a school。 This is also a book that highlights some of the glaring problems within the education system, and looks at them critically, giving options for solutions and advice。 The education system is far from perfect, but if you are parent, this book will give you a good idea what goes on behind the scenes。 It's honest, it's funny and there is some top notch banter (just like the podcast)。 A must read for teachers (therapeutic), parents (how you can help and not be 'that' parent) and everyone else (just because this is how it is, not how the government/media wants you to believe it is)。 。。。more

3 stars | For teachers, future teachers or school staff, PAWPTOI is a hilarious book about the every day reality of working in a primary school。 For everyone else, it’s a chance to have reminisce about your school days and all the weird and wonderful things you experienced。In a lot of ways, it felt like an extension of the podcast (which has become one of my favourites) and I did find it very funny。 However, it was missing the level of outrageous anecdotes and hilarity that usually has me crying 3 stars | For teachers, future teachers or school staff, PAWPTOI is a hilarious book about the every day reality of working in a primary school。 For everyone else, it’s a chance to have reminisce about your school days and all the weird and wonderful things you experienced。In a lot of ways, it felt like an extension of the podcast (which has become one of my favourites) and I did find it very funny。 However, it was missing the level of outrageous anecdotes and hilarity that usually has me crying with laughter。 The book is more a walk through guide to the life of a primary teacher, rather than a confessional book。 Still, it was an enjoyable read, full of the camaraderie and banter that one expects from the two Mr Ps。 。。。more

I do enjoy a book which tells stories from people’s occupations! I’ve read many different ones – police, fire service, ambulance, nurses, bar workers and librarians – but never read one from a teacher! When I did get to the ‘stories’ I did find myself chuckling along to some of them and enjoyed reading them。 It was an enjoyable read overall, and I liked the relationship between the brothers。 。。。more

This book offers us a glimpse into the world of primary schools, starting from descriptions of staff that work there, teachers being overworked, managing behaviour, what strange things children bring to show and tell – it’s all in this book! An interesting, mostly humorous look at life in primary schools。 Full of witty anecdotes that will resonate with anyone connected with schools as a teacher or other staff member, parent, or even just someone that remembers their own time as a pupil。

I cannot believe how well these 2 guys sum up what it's like working in primary schools。 They've completely hit the nail on the head。。。funny anecdotes, along with the joys and frustrations, and a slightly more serious chapter at the end discussing what needs to change。 I agree with it all。 A must read for primary teachers and TAs, and anyone who thinks primary teaching is all about the holidays! I did find bits of this book interesting, however I was definitely expecting to read about funny antics from within the classroom。 I didn’t enjoy the writing format with one author interrupting the other, it read like a written version of the podcast that was constantly mentioned。

Hilarious, accurate and just a joyful, yet truthful read。

Having never listened to the Podcast that this book was born from, I bought this book with a great deal of enthusiasm。 I must admit I was disappointed by this book。 I expected lots of anecdotes regarding things that have happened in classrooms, however this was not the case, there was some funny bits in there, but not what I thought 📚
