Wow! A deeply disturbing story with many twists and turns。 I could not put it down and read deep into the night to finish it。 Highly recommended!

Wow! Book six in Cara Hunter’s DI Adam Fawley series。 This is a fabulous read, a page turner, lots of twists, plots within plots, to keep the reader hooked。 The Fawley team with some new additions work round the clock。 A brilliant plot。 Definitely my favourite detective series at the moment。 Very clever the way the emails, newspaper clippings, voicemails etc are used。 A gripping read。 I highly recommend this entire series。 Thanks to Net Galley and Penguin General UK for an ARC of this book book Wow! I would like to thank Netgalley and Penguin General UK for an advance copy of Hope to Die, the sixth novel to feature DI Adam Fawley of Thames Valley Police。The police are called to a remote Oxfordshire farmhouse when a passerby hears a gunshot。 There they find an elderly couple and a dead body that they claim was a burglar they shot in self defence。 Fawley isn’t so sure and when he and his team find a link to an old case of child murder and a possible miscarriage of justice they know they will I would like to thank Netgalley and Penguin General UK for an advance copy of Hope to Die, the sixth novel to feature DI Adam Fawley of Thames Valley Police。The police are called to a remote Oxfordshire farmhouse when a passerby hears a gunshot。 There they find an elderly couple and a dead body that they claim was a burglar they shot in self defence。 Fawley isn’t so sure and when he and his team find a link to an old case of child murder and a possible miscarriage of justice they know they will be in the spotlight。I enjoyed Hope to Die so much that I read it in one sitting, unable to put it down。 For personal reasons this is currently very unlike me so it’s a full 5* from me。 I found the plot fascinating with its twists and turns and I genuinely had no idea where it would go next。 Even more fascinating is that the basic premise of one of the main characters is based in reality when I was swithering about how realistic the scenario was, just to prove that truth is stranger than fiction。The plot is the usual mixture real time investigation interspersed with Farley’s first person take on events, press cuttings, social media commentary and old transcripts and reports from the previous investigation。 I like this approach as it gives a wider perspective on events and mixes up the narrative。 The content of the plot is even better。 I don’t want to issue spoilers but in certain respects it’s heartbreaking, but on the other it’s chilling。 Camilla Rowan who is at the heart of it is a manipulative psychopath and a comfortable and habitual liar。 I was hooked on Fawley and the team gradually dismantling her story and rebuilding something closer to the truth。 It’s absorbing and compulsive。Hope to Die is a good read that I have no hesitation in recommending。 。。。more

Very well executed and I was hooked all the way through。Cara Hunter was back on form with this book, and I’m hoping book five was just a blip due to lockdowns and the world being a very strange place to work in。 There was just brilliance in the latest book, and all of her cleverness was back on top form。 Thank you so much for restoring my faith, and I already can’t wait for book seven!!A solid, well-deserved, five-star read! 。。。more
