He has a cool way of looking at the world and a lot of great ideas in this book。 This book is a bunch of his blog posts, so I had already read a lot of them。
Pier-Luc Nadeau,
Strongly recommend to read。 Lots of small bits of wisdom although like the author highlighted, very important to incorporate them in your everyday or else it gets lost。
Dmitry Polovinkin,
Worthy book without water with different short thoughts and ideas which give a new view on different things in our life。 Really interesting to read, and definitely has a rereading potential。
Mohamad Ahmad,
Derek is such an amazing thinker。 So cool to see things from his perspective, the counter melody perspective that is。 Brilliant。
Marwa Elnaggar,
Amazing book
Marco Carboni,
As always, immensely useful and practical recommendations from one of the modern stoics Derek Sivers。 Priceless book you should read it every year or so。 I know I will
Simon Mwangi,
Pure wisdom。 I agree with most of what the author says, particularly the point about finding the intersection among what is smart, what will bring happiness, and what is useful either to you or to other people。 I believe that intersection is the perfect spot for defining what we should pursue in life。
Amandus Bergersen,
-- audiobook --Hearing the different chapters every time was kinda frustrating, but a cute little read nonetheless。 Very feasible chapters with a lot to think about。 Would recommend。
Yuyang,
Overall a light read that really doesn’t stick as much as I would’ve hoped so。 I think the key to getting more value out of this book is to take notes and highlight important quotes as you go, because by the time you get to the end of the book, you probably would’ve forgotten 85% of what you’ve covered already, just because of how independent each small section is from each other。 Each individual lesson, though, is very easily digestible and the nice thing is you can pick and choose which ones y Overall a light read that really doesn’t stick as much as I would’ve hoped so。 I think the key to getting more value out of this book is to take notes and highlight important quotes as you go, because by the time you get to the end of the book, you probably would’ve forgotten 85% of what you’ve covered already, just because of how independent each small section is from each other。 Each individual lesson, though, is very easily digestible and the nice thing is you can pick and choose which ones you agree with and want to implement into you own life。 。。。more
Blake Dietz,
Concise and useful advice about life。
Ciarán Murray,
Incredible little book。 Will be buying this as a Christmas gift for friends。 Loads of little nuggets of information。 Changed my perception of how to work in the world。 Will be coming back to this regularly。

Violeta,
Easy to read and has some great ideas/thoughts。
Andrew Chuang,
This is like an open discussion, nothing right or wrong。 Everything have their own flaws。 I love how Derek be mindful, he do many experiment with his life。 A bad goal make you say, “I want to do that some day。” A great goal makes you take action immediately。
Payton Youngblood,
Love this guys philosophy on life。 The book reads like a great conversation。 Consider the topics seriously and respond。
Audrey Thouvenin,
Nice and easy reads。 Lots of life takeaways that can be read in any order really。
daily_megs,
Loved it。 Great insights。 Will probably revisit often。

v good book。 i’m not very fond of self-help books。 but i found this from Ali Abdaal’s youtube channel and the title seemed interesting。 it’s really good and has about 130 pages。 so it didnt take me long to read it。changed rating:3 from 4。 just realizing that i didn’t like it THAT much。 it was alright。
zac,
I liked it - a small book with a pack of tiny standalone chapters。 each chapter imparts wisdom in a capsule model, all from Derek's life experiences。 I liked it - a small book with a pack of tiny standalone chapters。 each chapter imparts wisdom in a capsule model, all from Derek's life experiences。 。。。more
Kavish Jash,
After Almanack of Naval Ravikant, this is one of the best books I’ve come across in 2022。 Small book, full of short bursts of passages of Derek’s journey of life which makes you rethink your own beliefs and ideology most of the time。 Sit with a highlighter, as you would need it most of the time ;)It’s a page-turner book that you can pick up from anywhere at any time & would be left with awe-striking insights。 No goofing, just straight off the bat advice。 I love how he writes。 If you are looking After Almanack of Naval Ravikant, this is one of the best books I’ve come across in 2022。 Small book, full of short bursts of passages of Derek’s journey of life which makes you rethink your own beliefs and ideology most of the time。 Sit with a highlighter, as you would need it most of the time ;)It’s a page-turner book that you can pick up from anywhere at any time & would be left with awe-striking insights。 No goofing, just straight off the bat advice。 I love how he writes。 If you are looking for some real-life advice with no BS。 This is a book for you。 I’m an official Derek siver fan now! 。。。more
Mike Zornek,
I like this one a lot。 Love the short format and some good content to keep you thinking。 A particularly good read considering my current thoughts on what is next for me。 I will likely try some other books by the author soon™。
Valentina Thoerner,
Recommended slow read。
Bajram,
Derek Sivers has a no bullshit attitude。 His books are short and concise。 He is the opposite of, say, Ryan Holiday, who markets his one-subject books well, cribbing from Eastern philosophies or the ancient Stoics without adding any value。 Sivers processes his wisdom about life; he is honest, to the point, and original。 This book was a treat。
Arunsathyaseelan,
Short, crisp, and to the point and some very important questions that we grapple with! Will keep coming back to this book!
Jillian Halket,
Wonderful book。 Divided into short chapters - each with poignant musings on life。
Muhammad Hussain,
I'll just say that every single word in this book is gold。 You have a little smile on your face without noticing。 Sometimes you get drawn on the idea。 Can't be more satisfied。 I'll just say that every single word in this book is gold。 You have a little smile on your face without noticing。 Sometimes you get drawn on the idea。 Can't be more satisfied。 。。。more

I already read about this theory and I'm happy I read it all from its source。 There is more than it seems at a first glance, it's something that's worth "grokking"。。。! There are many interesting thoughts and it's just a great small book。Recommended。 I already read about this theory and I'm happy I read it all from its source。 There is more than it seems at a first glance, it's something that's worth "grokking"。。。! Van,
Lovely book。 This is not a book that you can not put down, actually it’s quite the opposite。 You should read a bit, put it down and come back later。 Each page is packed with a simple thought/ philosophy/ lesson that the author wants to share。 Bit by bit, this book grows on me。 I love simple writers and Derek Silver definitely knows how to capture my short span of attention。 90% of it has nothing to do with “hell yeah or no” philosophy。 But it’s the most notable idea of the book。
Neil Pasricha,
Nobody beats to their own drum more than Derek Sivers。 Tim Ferriss calls him a ‘philosopher-operator and poet-recluse of the highest order。’ He lives all over the world with his nine-year-old son。 He journals hundreds of pages and distills them down into 100-word bits of poignancy … and absolutely brilliant 3-minute TED Talks。 (I used “the first follower” in my Walmart leadership development classes!) Well, he says in that glib-but-honest Derek-Sivers-way, “It helps making a million dollars first。” He started CD Baby in that little blink after people started buying stuff online but before Napster and mp3 takeovers。 (Anyone else have a favorite Winamp skin?) Since then? He’s sold the company and essentially dedicates his time to being a full-time … learner and giver。 That’s it! Or games! Or social media! For every offer you get in life make sure it’s a “Hell Yeah!” or else? Automatic no。 A wonderful compact collection of wisdom。 。。。more

Love It! One of the enjoyable books i've read lately! I love the short chapters and the lesson that makes you question your own thinking and life。 Really good topics to look back on and to re-read in the near future!
